Okay, so I did some math. Andrew Dayne is older than 33 right now. This is the conclusion that came to me after looking at the wiki and the ages of Ser Arthur and his supposed birthday before or during the year of 260. Andrew is the eldest and has, by this point, a son with his wife. This means that this man slept with a 17-year-old...and has been trying to get her accused of a crime. Do we need him alive?
We just had a conversation with her father about the socially acceptable uses of blood sacrifice; something tells me the only thing we need to do to see him dead is stay out of the way. If that doesn't pan out there's always Vision of Doom and whatever 6th level or lower spell we'd like to subject him to.

For someone so self righteous about 'the guidance of the faith', it turns out he needs way more of it than most of those poor mages. We do, sadly, need him alive. But nobody says we can't air this in public and completely humiliate him, or at least threaten to do so unless he complies with all our demands.

See the part I am mostly pissed about isn't the sleeping with the 17-year-old (fucked up but does happen in this setting and they are Dornish, they fuck anything that moves. Still seething mind you.) it's the attempt at accusing her of a crime even after given reasonable doubt in regards to what could have happened. This, to me, screams like an attempted cover-up. Maybe I don't know the whole story. Maybe Lord Fowler is blackmailing him through this scandal and has him by the balls and he sees a way out. Maybe he thinks that this was some Yandere thing and is trying to save himself. All I know is that he doesn't come out smelling like roses in this situation.

... sleeping with a (likely) consenting noble lady doesn't make you candidate for blood sacrifice. At most, and in this context, it makes you an irresponsible dickhead, but that's neither here nor there.

This is way too early in the morning for me to get angry.

But I agree. Burn him, curse him, eat him, torture him. I don't care. A self-righteous prick who garbs himself with faith who does shit like that is not someone I'm going to fret over when he got munched by a Pit Fiend or two.

As a someone who took Religion very seriously, this guy is grating on my nerves much like Lucan did.

Does Andrew have a son? We might be misunderstanding the situation here, y'all.

I meant more about the level of violence he was willing to contemplate, not that he should literally be sacrificed. Even for someone who's job includes sentencing people to death, calmly sitting down and laying out the pros and cons of feeding someone to ancient tree gods is an unusually bloody mindset.

Hmm, okay...maybe we aren't misunderstanding the situation, after all.

Could she actually be his daughter rather than his lover?

*glass cracking*

...Goldfish... are you insinuating that the man impregnated his own daughter and was gonna have her killed alongside their unborn child/grandchild?

...

I think we have genuinely found ourselves a hypocrite here.

Take a bit of time to navel gaze for me. Arthur Dayne helped Rhaegar rape a Lord Paramount's daughter and dared to talk about duty to her brother's face like it actually meant something, after years of guarding the chambers of another rapist.

The whole tree is full of rot.

Except Gerold, who is a diamond in the rough.

No, no, sorry, I was just speculating on an alternate relationship, him being her father instead of her lover, not that they were getting incestuous.

I was wrong, of course, as @One Autumn Leaf pointed out, since DP already confirmed she is carrying his child.

You know as much as I do like the idea of people who sleep with 17 year olds getting punished maybe we should wait a bit till we have some information from him and keep our cool here? Like people are saying lot about him accusing her of a crime but remember he was also very quickly convinced it wasn't her that tried to kill him when he saw it with his own eyes then demanded to rescue her after. This after nearly dying to somebody wearing her face which is very much an emotionally damaging thing no matter how you slice it. People do dumb thing on emotion in dangerous situations.

Like I am sure he is a dick to some degree but some of the suggestion are going a little too far. At least this is Dorne so having a bastard is far less damaging for both the mother and child then it would be anywhere else.

Well, still very damaging, but the child themselves are treated far better and it is less a personal stain of honor to be a bastard in of itself.

Yeah, good point.

And in the grand scheme of things and on the scale of typical Westerosi noble douche baggery, a 30 something dude sleeping with a consenting 17 year old is really quite tame. We often view things through our own cultural framework rather than that of the setting, but we're normally better at recognizing it than in this situation.

Even if this is tame compared to others I'd still want to try and use this against him. Nothing personal. Just that he is supporting the Faith increase in power which goes against our interests.
