Gerold is working to change that, though. The Darkstar is on the rise.

Careful not to cut yourself on all that edge. :p

I like Darkstar. He hasn't turned out to be quite as backstabby as canon would entail. Which is nice. I was half expecting calls of his death by this point but I am pleasantly surprised.

There are plenty of historically memorable Daynes actually, but only if you're an ASOIAF nerd or in-universe study your history. Which most nobles or fanboy squires do.

This is more than fair. I should have posited in recent times...though that would also be wrong as Darkstar exists.

Darkstar has been great compared to the other Daynes.
You also forgot Ashara, the high level cleric who could have handed the entire lot of them their asses.
She's probably having a lovely time with Tiamat right now.

No such thing as a free lunch.
She probably would have been better off soul-killed. Sucks for her.
But yes, Darkstar is officially best Dayne in living memory, never helped anybody rape anybody else, never worshiped Tiamat. Should be a boon to his self esteem.
👌 If he gets far enough we might be able to make him something to match Dawn itself.
My only comfort in these trying times is that the Golden Company is suffering in Tiamat's gullet...or in ours.
Most of the Golden Company for sure. Connington himself may have just wound up in hell.

I'm not sure if Tiamat has a terrible afterlife for her followers, sure she's an evil god, but I would still think she's the type to reserve the torture, for those who betrayed her before dying.
Her afterlife might not be bad for successful minions, but for failures...well, I doubt it's a pleasant experience.

Particularly for catastrophic failures, and what we managed with her Avatar and the Well definitely counts. While the GC's spot isn't as bad as what is reserved for Daenerys, it's likely to be close.

Mercy and Tiamat do not compute together, especially when the Golden Company is tied to the utter humiliation she's faced against us.

Tiamat seems to be very interested in fleshcrafting/outsidercrafting/whatever you call it when gods do it.

Since she can't make True Dragons by herself, she propably uses powerful souls like Ashara as material for her work on other projects.

Abishai are very useful minions for her, especially the Red ones. Intelligent Draconic Demons capable of shapeshifting and teleportation are just what she needs to spread her cult.

True, but as far as I remember the lore she still doesn't like them and much prefers her draconic minions over the fiends.
Still, they have value.

Maybe Ashara will end up as a souped-up Abishai, I'm sure a talent like Tiamat can do a lot of good work with a 15 HD Cleric soul as raw material.

A souped up Abishai seems rather mundane for a soul as powerful as Ashara's. While Tiamat can't make new dragons without giving Bahamut free reign to do the same, I'm sure she can make other monstrosities that would give us pause.
