Yeah, in this case it's going for the widest possible range of flavorings so to speak since DP specified the variants of hungering offered would influence the staff. Also I'm intentionally trying to overpay to maximize whatever extra boon we get out of this.

That's okay.
I think as long as the key-sacrifice is a creature that eats literally anything that's dead and most undead too we are on a good way, but variety can't harm anything except the snake's stomach.

I'd say it is a miss on Azel's part, but fluff-wise, Oldtown is the Vatican of the Faith of the Seven. Let's just get it understood that Danelle and Lucan got divine inspiration in the heart of their gods' power and move on.

Or else, you know Goldfish's gonna cheese the whey out of that loophole.

@Acolyte, @Takesis, if this is about Mindblank affecting divinations based on the moment it was active instead of the moment you cast the divination, that ruling is still in effect. DP had the exact same reading of this matter.

Oops I should have discussed this earlier, but it slipped my mind.

I changed that for the sake of de-salting the thread. I simply do not care about the matter enough to get into the argument again.

This is pretty much my position. By the time I agreed to settle it I was at the point of 'this argument makes me no longer want to write stuff, what do I need to do to make it go away?'

I really do not want to get back in that headspace.
 
Doesn't make much of a difference anyway.

Everyone with a humble Detect Thoughts can get the "nobody's home" message and assume Mindblank.
I see it like an armor, hard to pierce but easy to notice.
 
@DragonParadox, sorry to hear that, but this ruling is much more damaging then the thread having tolearn to stop whining every time someone actually manages to outmaneuver them.

You are probably right, but looking forward to the several pages of discussion on divination avoidance I just can't summon up the effort to argue the matter.

To be honest if I had seen all this coming I would have excised all long range divination from the game from day one.

I honestly don't give a fuck how ithe Mindblank works, all I care is that the subject is never brought up again.

It feels me with lots and lots of resentment and kills any willingness to play atm.

We had enough discussion on the matter.

A little saltfest every now and again is fine, but we had it for, what, over 4 times now..?


Ideally, we also just don't try doing overly-complicated subterfuge ever again, when we clearly can't do it well enough, and stop caring about Mindblank giving us away there too.

I'm off to more uni now.

I wonder if some of you go back and read some of these highly contested votes from back in the day and just hold your faces in shame. Some of this stuff is just pure, entitled whine lol.
 
It might be a while before we get the first update today, the whole mind blank discussion, put me in a bit of a bad headspace. As much as I love this thread there are some parts I just don't want to remember. That's not a criticism of you guys it's just my coping mechanism.

If it makes you feel any better, I must say as a new reader that I appreciate your work and you've gotta be the best QM I've ever encountered. Very good at communicating and diplomatic with the voters. I'm frankly blown away the level of cooperation you guys have leveraged to blow the quest up way past a traditional D&D Murderhobo adventure.

So, thanks for all the hard work DP.

Mors Umber

Hardy enough to shrug off the blows of warriors half his age and strong enough to deal such gruesome wounds in return that few who face him ever live to see old age in turn Mors Umber might be counted living proof if ever there was one that the blood of giants flows in the veins of the Lords of Last Hearth. Yet grim though he be with an axe in hand there are burdens even his broad shoulders could not shrug off and so he oft sought refuge at the cotton of the tankard, or more precisely the barrel. It was thus he earned the name he has carried for more winters than he cares to recall. 'Crowsfood', for when one of the sly birds plucked out his eye while he lay insensate by the road. Yet the world is changed and with it might fortune's wheel spin again.

By magic might an eye pop back into its socket and a lost daughter be found again. Mors has even grudgingly come to accept that his daughter was wed to a man of the Thenns of the Far North, in his own way at least. He no longer ponders the edge of his axe whenever his newfound godson is nearby. There are far more deserving necks to cleave by an edge of Valyrian Steel.

Also the sheets for Jeyne and Rhaella have bene updated, thanks again @Goldfish
