To be absolutely fair to Qyburn @TalonofAnathrax, only absolutely everything he ever promised. He said he was going to find a way to make non-pollutant and stable undead constructs, all while he was working with scraps and limited resources.

He did that in less than a few months once we smashed the glass ceiling on !!!SCIENCE!!! for him.

Interesting... Another people without much use for the divine it seems. There is nothing of the genies' lofty dismissal to the words, however. This feel more like the genuine confusion of someone who forgot some obscure detail. You wonder if faith in the gods is too at odds with a way of life turned to self perfection through one's own efforts, or if the shifting realm of Limbo is too changeable to to birth gods that the ordered souls of the Githrerai would be drawn to. Perhaps it is a bit of both, though that does beg the question of where their souls pass to in death. You doubt they would be so foolish as to let them fly upon the tides of the Astral Sea where they will.

Alas, that is not the sort of lore you can simply ask for, but there are other questions that are more easily posed, the basics of mind lore that do not require a master's tutelage, and of course lore regarding your common foe.

The Grandmaster is amenable, though he explains that it will take a moonturn more to translate everything to parchment and ink rather than crystal-forged memory that only Jeyne, out all those who live in your realm, can make use of. "For now, these might be of some interest to you," the monk says as three pale green shards materialize in his palm.

Although Jeyne picks them up gingerly, her thanks are heartfelt.

"There is one other object we recovered from the same dragon's hoard as the dagger, a far less wholesome thing." You go on to describe the twisted statue as best you can even put into words its visage. "It appears to have driven the dragon insane as well as infusing the waters all around with the influence of the Far Realm. Like the mask, I think it would likely be safer to sacrifice, but I wish to know precisely what it is before committing to the task."

"A wise precaution. Some of the Slave Master's relics are best kept contained rather than destroyed lest they pollute more of the world in their sundering. I shall see which of the masters of the Inner Eye can return with you to see this idol," Randar replies, leaving you to wonder if his monastery possesses some secret vault full of profane relics too dangerous to destroy. You certainly would not mind trying your hand, or more specifically the hand of the Merlin King, Yss, and the Old Gods at it, but that too is not a question you can ask so soon into your new alliance.

Fortunately, you can do more than merely wait for the battles to come and go to prove the worth of your friendship. You speak of the flesh forge, both of Gogossos and Lys, careful to explain as you had in Vialesk that these complexes had very little in common with the arts of the Deep Ones and were in no way beholden to them.

"A proposal unlike any we have ever received," Silence stretches out uncomfortably as the Grandmaster considers the matter. Finally, he sighs. "I must admit part of me wishes to refuse out of hand, knowing that the Gith, like so many other slaves, were born in places not unlike your flesh forges, but that would be an affront against the Path of Reason. You do not make slaves only beasts that might be trained to simple tasks. Something that might serve as a long distance siege engine would be of use for a beginning. We are not the most skilled of engineers and not many choose to be archers."

Ah, I don't suppose we can just abstract the search right away and add the "weapon"-part of the trees (what was the damage/DC, again?) to whatever creatures we'll be making up in the vote?

Could we embed that kind of trap in a Plane Creature? 🤔

I'm imaging things like Seed Bomb from Pokémon. Except... way more lethal.

  1. Sure, I'll think about how to model it in the morning
  2. This particular trap did not have a DC just and attack bonus and damage value. the way to dodge is to have high enough AC

Pretty much what I had in mind, yes.

Single use/long-regen ability for non-specialized creatures, or main attack power for artillery/archers concept.

Simply upsize the trap from the tree, and make the charges grow faster (Plants are bullshit in dnd, there are already precedents of projectiles growing like that).
Add legs/tail/ and you've got your personal Tree!Hydralisks.

You know if we had Symbionts we could just give them Pod Cannons. Any chance to research them?

Well either that or go full Plants vs Zombies invent Flower Cannons. Those should sell like hot cakes.

Not quickly, no.

Symbionts are locked away behind at least 3 RAs, 2 of which aren't even specified because we lack information IC to guess at specific kind of beings these are.

We probably can make somethjng very similar still, because Vaylrian!Bullshit.

Also with the fact that the Necromancy lore the Boltons stole from the Others has to be by nature incomplete, I am very curious about the kinds of things the Others have accomplished in the field.

I'm guessing there was a big process in transforming White Dragons to Frost Dragons related to all this.

@Artemis1992, remember that one spell you wanted for Viserys next level? The one you could bestow temporary Mythic Ranks onto others? Maybe it's like that, to an extent.

The Others are the fallen Winter Court, and we've long suspected powerful Fey being capable of granting their minions Mythic Ranks on a whim simply because "It's fitting due to your role in my court, as if a vassal lord of mine wouldn't be mythic."

This would seriously degrade the power and prestige of Mythic, and if it does not and that thing was a mere footsoldier than we're pretty much boned and there's nothing we can do about it in a conventional manner, it'd have to be some kind of sympathetic unravelling of their nature across the realms of existence.

Fey Lord's might be able to transfer Mythic power but just handing it out like candy doesn't make sense and it anything there should be a greater narrative requirement amongst get, I don't see how beings of story would get around the story requirements of Mythic.

A long distance siege weapon is hard to move though. Giving it flight in some fashion will make attacking Deep Ones a lot easier.

And if it gets a breathweapon all of a sudden it becomes three times as dangerous if paired with flight.

Lack of DC makes it easier to graft onto a creature really.
 
Ah, we're going about this the wrong way.

There is already the perfect template out there for us to use.

The Bladeleaf Creature. We already sold a bunch of them to the Admiral in Vialisk. The template on the PFSRD site was missing the actual stats for the Animated Leaf Swarm, but the one I linked includes the base swarm, which is modified by the creature the template is applied to.

We just need to put it on the proper chassis, preferably one that flies, and we're golden.
 
So do we want a siege weapon or normal ranged attacker?
Because anything with feats and enough HD can Bind a Manticore Belt (using Incarnum feats) and get a strong ranged attack routine.
But it on something flying and you're done ! It's like my "use a Manticore" suggestion, but better !

Otherwise I always like the Yrthak. It can explode stone, deal strong ranged sonic damage, and fly.
 
...I think we shouldn't do a "multi-purpose" creature here, when we can (somewhat) easily offer a specialized selection of units.

Artillery/Siege plant with high damage, range, splash, and low mobility...
And a highly mobile "archer"-like unit.

No idea how to do first, but for the second ya guys had already thrown out some good ideas.

We also ordered a bunch of Bladeleaf Children of the Briar.

We could make a larger, stupider, winged version of a Splinter Drake but I feel kinda bad making a Dragon stupid.

We should consider incorporating the Bramble Grenade ability of the Jesulan.

I believe they also asked for a carrier so perhaps multiple on a gargantuan Fungal whale.
