What about Travellers Anytools? They are basically the magical swiss army knives of the setting and with a 250 gold purchase price it's just 25 IM to make or 50 IM to buy. That's basically a rounding error for standard equipment at this point.

Standard equipment for all graduate engineers maybe?

That's a fantastic tool. The Legion definitely should get those in bulk, ideally one for each legionnaire.
A order of a 100 thousand would run us 5 million IM to buy it from Vialesk. Or 2.5 million of crafting time. So not sure how many would vote for that.

I'm just hoping to make it standard engineering equipment. The Rings of Mending too since it's just 90 IM meaning 180 to buy.

We would still give them all needed tools and equipment of course. But it is a great item for surprises in engineering or repairs. We could put an order for it all next month.

I always forget those. Gonna add a bunch to the crafting schedule.

I think there should be one of these and a Ring of Mending or Prestidigitation for each Engineer per shift on a Moonchaser.

36 Anytools, 24 Rings of Mending, 12 Rings of Prestidigitation, and 3 Rods of Make Whole per Moonchaser seems reasonable to me.

I'd want every engineer to have atleast the anytool. And the ring of mending too for those on Moonchasers. On shit or not in case of emergencies or ship damage.

Well, at 150 Engineers a month, we'd need to make 150 Anytools. 3,750 IM isn't too bad. If we get more enchanters here before leaving they will probably more than cover that.

And 13500 a month for Rings of Mending too for everyone right? Apprentice crafters can make them right? Or do you need journeymen?

Though that would just be 27000 to buy every month. I'd buy enough for a year and just forget about it.

I would just keep a stock for each city, and then only pair the items per ship made. You only need as many rings as you have stuff to fix and each ring can be used as many times as you need.

The Anytool on the other hand is so cheap but fundamentally useful to an Engineer's job that it's silly not to have it be a graduation gift.

Heh, justify just spreading them now as Viserys fiddling around with all his Knowledge and Crafting skills and spontaneously inventing the magic jigsaw puzzles this month.

He actually does have the skills to justify just inventing it. Multiple Crafting skills at competent levels and prodigious number of points in every Knowledge skill ever.

Or Ysilla comes up with it, as she's an inventive little entrepreneur apparently...

How's this for the typical gear assigned to a Moonchaser's Engineering crew? An Anytool for each Engineer, plus enough Rings of Mending for every member on a shift, some Rings of Prestidigitation for general cleaning and utility use, and three Rods of Make Whole for more serious repairs. The whole kit totals up to 7,815 IM in enchanting, but with Valeria doing the work her feats reduce that to 4,689 IM.

Looks good. Though if we go ahead with making the Anytool standard we wont need to craft that specifically for the crew.

I'd say for all Engineers and general crafters assigned to the Legion.

It's just how he keeps track of things as part of a package. Far Realm influence shouldn't be questioned, lest madness taint you...

There's another 125 of them on the crafting schedule, I just didn't include them in the Moonchaser Engineer package.

We can easily produce enough each more to keep up with our graduating engineers, with surplus we can assign to Legion logistics and elsewhere.

Speaking of cheap but universally useful gear. Heatstones! And unlike normal Alchemically treated stuff this doesnt seem to be one use! You just hit it to activate for 24 hours but it doesnt say it's used up. 2 IM to make. Universal equipment if ever I've seen it.

I'd like a Alchemical Factory for this one day. So nobody goes cold in the winter.

Good find. Those would be good for the next Industrial Alchemy Facility.

For now, I've added them to our non-industrialized Alchemy production schedule for the month. We'll be producing 378 of them this month. We can keep some for our people, but I would give most of the first batch to the Night Watch.

Useful, but not enough to dedicate time to them. They're niche and not needed in any significant quanity, so something that can be assumed to have been acquired from independent Alchemists.
There are Independent Alchemists? I though we got everyone with even a speck of talent signed up in the Scholorum? Some people actually signing up and then staying independent? That's nice. Some competition is always good.

There is extraplanar trade now. We also do a considerable amount of import/export business throughout Planetos via oceangoing traders.

To give some perspective, literally millions of IM in trade goods passes through customs in SD per month and millions more is shipped through the passage north and south.

Edit: Honestly... we are literally propping up the world economy to a degree right now. A lot of industries would have completely collapsed when you consider slavery's abolition and the changing flow/availability of goods and in the quantities they are appearing in.

For example, Braavos made back the losses of trade they suffered from piracy, exorbitant tariffs and so on thanks in no small part to us, but we have pretty much killed the northern Essos steel trade. Oh they are still very much buying steel, but producing? We out produce everyone. I'm sure there's still some surfeit of skilled metalworkers needed there, but a lot of them have to be immigrating south with the sponsored waves we've been paying for each month. Everfire Dale may be one of the faster expanding communities besides SD.
