@egoo TBH it might be necessary to just make it a full process. If you've got aberration blood, you can get an arcane-marked document that licenses you for travel through customs or into a facility ear-marked on the document saying you are permitted to be there. If you get flagged by the pearl detection and do not present documentation, you will be detained (peaceably) until you can be interviewed. If you resist arrest, force may be used. If you shed your skin and try to eat the customs agent, you will be pelted with thirty crossbow bolts and then several magic missiles or fireballs.

:/

Oh well, it's not like we can afford to do anything but that.
They'll understand.

And we'll revoke most of the restrictions after the squids are done with.
Hard times, hard measures.

Shall I write-up a MA for next month with allocation of those pearls as I described above?
Remaining 500 being given out to Inquisitors, Legion officers and Erynies?
Or are we better vote on that IC and sooner than that?

Also, that earlier exchange between you and @Artemis1992 about who we can work with on PoW is kinda confusing to read, my phone is spazzing out reading quotes lately.
Can you get an "abridged" of who's to be visited/contacted while we are on this trip (again, we have at least a week more), and who is a (potential) target?

Those people suffered the worst torment by Deep Ones of everyone in Sorcerer's Deep. They will encourage such measures be taken, and it's not like we won't be as courteous as possible about this routine.

The parallel to Airport Security profiling people of middle-eastern (or really just vaguely brown but not-black) descent is there but also completely without context and irrelevant in this situation. It's not meant to ostracize but to combat existential threats which target everyone, including those flagged for inspection.

We don't have any definite plans yet. I was waiting to see how receptive the Trader Houses of Vialesk were before dipping our toes further afield.

Would still like to Mass Commission the 9 types of Detection Monocles I compiled. Atleast 10 sets per Inqusiition Office. That is effectively 10 sets per Province once they all have Inquisition Bases set up.

Nothing definite, but it looks like the Marid Emirates will all be hard to mobilize and while we could get them to contribute, for actual military support we should better look to the Runecarved and the Immortal.

Also killing Galzerai might be worth it to get support from one of the richer Emirates and propably goodwill from everyone who had to interact with the bastard.

I'd settle for being able to Commission stuff from each of them. You can bet each have their own crafters and if we can get trade relations upto the level of them letting us commission stuff from them. I am fine with that.

Just being able to outsource the non-proprietary crafting stuff would every month would be a force multiplier.

Faked documents.

  • [X] Network with the Trade Houses, working out deals for the sale of the goods you've brought and arrangements to ply more trade toward them on an ongoing basis. Cite that trips would often coincide with a great unleashing of goods from the Garden but due to political obstacles and other matters such as Farspawn taking away your attention, it is quite unfortunate that their own merchants will have difficulty plying those routes. Now if only caravans could move through those portals unmolested, they would not be reliant on you to provide such goods and craft on a regular basis and their rivals would not be scrambling to buy what you bring out from under them...
[X] Preceding this, celebrate Dany's nameday at home and have Relath make some arrangements to sponsor various artists for some anti-Efreeti propaganda, and spread tales of your own raiding on them.

Part MMMCXXIX: A Day for Kith and Kin
A Day for Kith and Kin

Tenth Day of the Eleventh Month 293 AC

There was a time when the notion of leaving Relath with over two-million marks worth of trade goods would have seemed only slightly less probable than inviting Stannis Baratheon out for a drink in the local tavern, but times change, Relath himself had changed, proving himself a stalwart ally through many a battle. Thus as Dany's nameday draws near you have few preliminary meetings with various Trading Houses then leave the Lord of Tolos to hammer out the details, that you may then give the contracts a final polish later. Who knows, maybe Stannis will enjoy that drink some day, you think with a touch of whimsy as you draw back the border of worlds for you and your mother to step through.

"My well-wishes to the princess," the Brine Dragon calls after you, likely just remembering he aught to be doing that by custom, though you suspect still somewhat bewildered as to why entering the ninth year of one's life would be of note though it brings with it no new strength of fang and claw or arcane knowledge.

"I shall," you reply simply and sincerely before completing your spell.

***

Dany's nameday is to be quite a large affair, not out of any great desire for formality on her part, but simply because she has too many she wishes to invite—all of your companions of course whether they be called back from the icy north, far-off Yi Ti, the poisoned lands of Ghis or even the City of Brass itself, but also Kyla Fairwind and Ysilla Royce, unsurprisingly eager young mages of House Frey and a somewhat bewildered Samwell Tarly. Kyla had supposedly needed to take the poor boy aside to assure him that he did not have to buy the best of all possible gifts, and that he should simply take the compliment of being invited to an essentially private nameday and buy whatever gift seemed right to him.

No one of course expects a gift from Ysandrix, the little Blue Dragon has been putting every coin she could glean towards her hoard of artworks, poetry and exotic goods, but she seems to have taken the concept of a nameday with at least good cheer at least, 'a time for mortals to bring tribute for the priceless gift of draconic wisdom' she had proclaimed it in a faintly chirping voice had you make use of all your skills as a diplomat not to smile at.

Also summoned back to the Deep for the day are Valaena along with Theon and Asha Greyjoy, making this all the more a gathering of high lords and ladies, in their case bearing gifts of the Summer Sea. Diana had not without regrets chosen to remain with her ship, just as Nuri could sadly not afford to leave a nest of Oni on such short notice, but other than the two of them the incarnates had returned to the Deep, many of them taking the opportunity to ask Lya if her new understanding of how to divide one soul into two bodies also meant they could be made stronger or their arcane power deepened.

Yet even with all these guests and the possibility of summoning more from among your friends and allies there are three more guests Dany would wish to invite, though their presence would prove more delicate each in their own manner.

"Maester Aemon, Bloodraven in his Varys persona, and Jon Snow?" you ask dubiously. You can certainly see why she might wish to invite them, but the hurdles are just as obvious.

"I already asked Maester Aemon and he said yes," your sister replies. "This isn't a Targaryen day like the dragon-binding, it's just a family day, if anyone deserves to lay down that old cloak aside for a day it is him."

"And Lord Bloodraven?" your mother prompts, doing her best not to give the old sorcerer's name any particular emphasis.

"Oh he hemmed and he hawed for a bit, but I am nothing if not persistent." Dany's brilliant smile fades into a far more solemn expression. "He needs this, even more than uncle Aemon. He needs to feel like a just person for a little while, not Bloodraven terrible arbiter of doom and destiny, not the Last Greenseer, voice of the dreaming gods, just Brynden Rivers."

Your mother looks down at Dany and sighs, though there is a smile on her lips as she ruffles Dany's hair. "I am proud of you, sweetling."

For once Dany seems a little taken aback, though confusion quickly fades to happiness as she hugs your mother in thanks. Letting go she turns to you again and continues: "I didn't say anything to Jon, since I know things with Lord Stark are in a delicate equilibrium. If you think I should just wait for next year before inviting him that is alright. I can still talk to him in the dreamlands and he can conjure me a gift. They do say it's the thought that counts, right?"

What do you reply?

[] Try to get Jon Snow to Dany's Nameday celebration
-[] Sneak him out of Winterfell (Write in)
-[] Speak with Lord Stark about it (Write in)

[] Do not try to get Jon Snow to Dany's Nameday celebration

What present do you get Dany?

[] Write in

OOC: You guys are not going to lose out on the trade or anything, since Viserys will still look over the contracts and possibly do a little renegotiating if Relath does not get the best rolls.

We'll be havng those meetings with trade houses after the nameday then, correct, @DragonParadox ?

I'm surprised we got B!Varys away for as much as a day.
The old crow needs this, but I assumed that Varys is under constant watch.
Mindblank Ring is on, I assume?

I really hope nothing explodes over us pulling everyone off their sensitive tasks for a whole day.

The present...
Well, we can animate a chocolate fountain-golem.

The question is, if it can be made self-replenishing.

... @Goldfish, @Deliste, I come to you in time of great need.

Hence the unique arcane marked signature, the hardened documents, and probably the encoded number marked down and stored in warded archives that they can run against.
That raises the bar somewhat for the DO infiltrator. Divination&Forgery, Hardening, Divination again (basically, personality theft. And since it's DOs, might have stolen the body, too).

[X] "We'll spend time with Jon in the dream tonight. The chances a disappearance could spark rumors that suspicion should trail him like a heavy cloak is hardly something I wish him to endure, when he already must suffer and endure in silence all the other small indignities." You look at her sadly, then. "It doesn't make sense to take any unnecessary risks when we're so close to being done with it all."

And yet here we are.

[X] Crake

We gotta remember to Fabricate Dany a treasure chest full of gold, Mithral, and Adamantine foil-wrapped chocolate coins.

One thing I would like to make clear again OOC, there is a reason I had Dany present the notion of bringing Jon as she did. She understands the political issues and respects that it's not her call alone as it impacts not only Viserys and his plans but Jon himself. Dany is not blind to how impulsive she can be so she was very careful not to unduly pressure or influence Viserys in this.
