I was looking for ways to turn Richard's swording up to 11 and came upon this...
Barroom Brawler (Combat)
You have learned how to mimic the combat tricks and forms of others.
Prerequisite(s): Base attack bonus +4.
Benefit: Once per day as a move action, you can gain the benefit of a combat feat that you do not possess for 1 minute. You must otherwise meet the feat's requirements.
Special: If you have the martial flexibility class feature, this feat instead grants you one additional use per day of that ability.
Is... is that basically what Viserys has for metamagics?

Richard got to shine there, I agree, but that was far from single-handed. Viserys halved its HP with his Avasculate spell and prevented it from using its Time Stop SLA.

Still a very impressive showing, though. Richard is a scary dude.
A far cry from when we fought our first Cornugon. We've clawed our way to the big leagues.

@TotallyNotEvil @Goldfish Notice how once again Richard proved to be the MVP in a high stakes, high CR fight?

It's just ironic, because Viserys only just makes blasting spells competitive at his level, whereas the only thing almost none of these arch-fiend tier enemies seem immune to, and in fact are just as vulnerable as anything else, is a sword to the neck, wrists and guts.

Meh. You are burning a swift action and 7th level magic for what amounts to essentially a fancy re-roll.

You could, as a rather unoptimized example, cast your regular, high level spell as an action and a 3rd level spell - of which a lot are quite nice - as a swift action via Quicken spell.

Situationally useful, but nothing too impressive. Here is something similar that deserves the 9th level slot.
The key there is that not only you get to fish for information, which is terribly important, but there is no limit to the level of the spells you cast.

I think I've mentioned it a few times, but there is no method as reliable as swording something to death.

There's always a fancy spell or contingency or piece of gear that will counter whatever you throw at someone. But there's no perfect shield to getting Omae Wa Mou Shindeirui-ed.

Hey...
Hammer the Gap (Combat)
You repeatedly strike the same location, causing increasing amounts of damage.
Prerequisite: Base attack bonus +6.
Benefit: When you take a full-attack action, each consecutive hit against the same opponent deals extra damage equal to the number of previous consecutive hits you have made against that opponent this turn. This damage is multiplied on a critical hit.
Wasn't there a way for Richard to do, like, up to 12 attacks in a turn or something..?
:V

How is this a seventh level spell? Shouldn't it be higher?

Because if you cast it more than once a day you might just go insane and blow your magic away.

Casting this spell more than once in a single day is risky. On the second and subsequent casting in a 24-hour period, you must succeed at a DC 25 Will saving throw or be exposed to a crippling array of possibilities and paradoxes that leave you confused for 24 hours. Whenever this confusion would cause you to attack the nearest creature, you instead expend your highest-level remaining prepared spell or spell slot, if any, with no effect.

By the way, reading the Asura-entry on Pathfinder, these fiends are actually more likely to change their alignment that most fiends.

It's not much, but certainly better than the rates for Devils and Demons are going.
And neutral people who wish to oppose the senseless destruction of the Multiverse sound right up our alley.
@Duesal Are you up to try and recruit the lesser fiend we just captured?
@Artemis1992, sorry for the late reply, but I'm all for seeing if this Asura's viable for recruitment.

Finally caught up. Took me a few weeks (I think) but I got here at last.

Didn't help that I got sidetracked by TotallyNotEvil's Xianxia fic/quest recommendations (which I totally recommend myself by the by, they were awesome beyond words) but I made it.

You all have been busy little bees haven't you? Oh the horrors I'm going to help craft with that forge, especially after we get done killing these fools and looting their corpses.

It's good to be home.

Welcome back, dude. :)

Shit! I overslept, AGAIN!

And now it's 06:31 in the morning. And I missed about two update votes.

Ugh, brilliant. Just brilliant.
