  • [X] You don't exactly have too much time for theatrics, but fortunately you could have planned for such a speech of this nature ahead of time. A podium disgorged by your cloak, along with banner stands borne aloft in homage to both Sultana Ashadieeyah bint Khalid and Sultan Zafer and the Three-Headed Dragon of House Targaryen. Let no one claim you are not one for theatrics regardless. What's the point of a cloak that can store Huge-sized objects if you never put it into use?
-[X] "Greetings to my allies. I apologize for the hurried rouse to arms and the haphazard manner in which this address begins, but the necessities of the day are the enemies of ideal circumstance, just as perfection is the enemy of 'good enough'," you jest, hoping you've read the crowd right. "With that said, I hope to deliver upon you tidings more than merely "good", for you deserve that and more."
-[X] "It gives my heart great joy to see so many standing ready to defend a place most of you had never heard about until so very recently, let alone seen with your own eyes, let this be a statement to the Sultan and his allies, there are no gaps in our armor, no weakness to exploit, from the Crystalline dome of the Opaline Vault to the singing spires of Armun Kelisk, from the ever burning waves of the sea of fire to the gentle meadows of the plane of balance, there where the Sultan and his dogs seek to gain a hold, there we will stand, steadfast as the rock beneath our feet, swift as the air above us, fierce as the fire within our hearts" At this point bless them with Magic Army, providing the requisite +4 enhancement bonus.
-[X] "But more importantly, we stand together, and that is why we will win this war, for who has the sultan to call upon but tormented slaves and servants that hate him? will the hosts of Baator march to his aid on his hour of need? No, he stands alone, and in this he has sown the seeds of his own demise, for we stand alone no longer, let us show those born of fire what was that made the city of gold great, not the might of its rulers, but the unity of its people"
-[X] With a grand sweeping gesture: "The enemy's purpose this day is to turn the legacy of my ancestors to foul ends, for the madness that Iblis' line could work with even the splinters of Valyria's grandest artifice, could shake the very Spheres of Form and Being. This will not come to pass, not today, his forces move through the ruins of my ancestor's homeland like thieves in the night, but he will learn that Valyria's legacy its not corpse to picked by scavengers as he took the greatness of the City of Gold for himself, that no matter how grand his plans or how petty his ambitions we will be there to stop them, the spheres are no longer his playground, and in time he will learn to be afraid"
-[X] "I know you all walk with surety and purpose, knowing well of the danger we all move toward even now, Our foe is a mighty beast and it has grown fat with cruelty and by stealing the works of its betters, Let this be one among many blows to sting and scourge the lofty pride of our foes, let us bring down this beast one sting at a time"
    [X] Abstain

We could see about making him a body if he want, maybe make a non-sentient Plant body that is programmed to let him act as its mind, when it holds the dagger, he will then be able to treat the Plant creature's body as his own.

If he don't want to be alone, maybe we could make him a Plant creature that do have a mind, but whose mind is designed to interface with him, a CR10 Plant creature made to interface fully with him, would be a rather powerful being.

If the dagger was made the primary mind of a Plant creature, would it be able to level up?

It has class levels, so if it was actually in control of the body and so learning, I don't see why it wouldn't be able to grow in power.

The suggestion is so odd that no one would have to ask to see how he would react. Utter bemusement would be Garin's best guess.

I love how we can casually blow the mind of a sentient weapon. In any other setting this would be an amazing living weapon. Here we're like: "Cool, want a body? We have options!"

If that is even possible, and I'm dubious on this one, it would surely require a lot of research. That's time I would much rather put to more constructive use.

Hey! Tarrangar's suggestion was great, and I like it!
Do you prefer a nifty dagger, or a Plant-PC with a bunch of levels?

I prefer prioritizing research on other things. This is decidedly low on that list.
This.
We have no less than 6-10 projects with objective need to have had them done yesterday.
This is but a single level 10 PC, and likely a multi-month research as unique circumstances will dictate.

In the same* timeframe we can make Praetorians, or do the project with mass-PfE.

*Given a bunch of Researchers, but hey, we have them aplenty now :V

G'night all.

Yeah, I'm not opposed to it in general, it's just that we have limited resources and more high priority projects waiting in line.

Also IMO it's a dick move to give him a plant body when we're capable of rebuilding a human body for him via Flesh Forge. That or figuring out how to do Cyclic Reincarnation with his soul in hand regardless of the time of death.

Wait, don't all intelligent items get an ego score and a chance to overwhelm it's user? Could we not simply make a really dumb construct (Aurane Waters research?) And then give it the dagger?

Edit: would it count as slavery even if the construct would just stand doing nothing if left alone?

I'm pretty sure that making something Aurane-stupid would count as a crime against Humanity :/

Could give it to one of our (non enhanced) Seekers, if anything - but I like Duesal's notion of just straight up building such a body.

Note that right now, he does not want to be anything more than a dagger. Perhaps that shall change later on, as it experiences life along with a sentient wielder, hence me wanting to hand it over on a baby PC. Garin will end up like us with Dark Sister; A cute bauble, to be pulled out occasionally.

I still like the idea of giving him a body to command, and want to know if he can level up, if he become the primary mind in a combo.

We are looking into symbiotes anyway, part of that is letting their minds interface with each other for a coordinated whole, a Symbiont with the Sorcerer creature template is more useful, if it's mind melded with the other part of the creature.

It's not just a CR10 PC, if we give it a Plant body, then we can give it a CR10 body, so it will effectively be a CR10 base creature, that got 10 class levels.

A Plant body would be way stronger, and he's so old he don't really remember being human anyway, a humanoid Plant body should be just as good for him as a human body, and with a human body we can make it CR10, or maybe even more than CR10, if the upgrades to the Fungus Forge go well.

But the research cost is a consideration, so before deciding if it's worth it, lets ask DP how much progress it would cost, to make a Plant body that the dagger could possess.
