@Duesal, the Gelugon and Steel Devils are already bottled. There's no need to mess with them right now, since we don't have the ritual ready to sever their link to Hell. I would just remove mention of them from the vote right now. It reads like we're going to try to recruit the Devils after uncorking them, then turn right back around and stick them in the bottle. I think recruitment will have a lot better chance of success if we make the offer to them once the ritual is ready for use.

Alright, fair enough. Did DP say how much it'll take to develop that ritual? @DragonParadox?

Because recruiting Devils is tricky business and Erynies are a perfect storm of ideal traits.
It's an issue we can deal with later. I have my doubts about the Gelugon, too. They're powerful and have some useful abilities, but they're accustomed to a great deal of power over minions and are natural born schemers. We probably won't be able to trust the Gelugon enough to take it into our service, but there is a chance it will be amenable.

Being removed from the hierarchy of Hell might be appealing to a Devil of that level. Although it does prevent them from being promoted to greater forms, it also removes the limitations of the hierarchy, which could feel quite confining for an ambitious Devil.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Erinyes are the best, but the others are fine as well. It's more a matter of finding the appropriate station for them, which isn't a problem for us at this stage.

I get the concerns about the Ice Devil, but at the same time it's pretty trivial for us to assuage those doubts. If you've got concerns about certain behaviors? Divination or Brain Spider will clear everything up. The Devil isn't Mind Blanked, it can't hide anything and we'll get a blunt and honest answer.

If it turns out to be suitable for recruitment then there's no reason not to go for it.

Large scale eternal darkness is very achievable with Curse of Night.
I wouldn't really call that large scale. A one mile radius is by no means small, but an 8th level spell which requires 10 minutes and costs 2,000 IM per casting doesn't really have the oomph to curse a large land mass. You would exhaust the planet's supply of jet gemstones before you ever affected a significant area.

It depends on how you approach the attempt. Like you said, for someone who is just naturally competent, they can rise higher and faster in accordance to the merit of their deeds, and in addition they can still grow stronger naturally as a Native Outsider.

The biggest benefit of being bound to Baator as much as the greatest curse would be hierarchy. Always knowing your place, always being neatly slotted back in when slain on the Material Plane, having a web of contracts and pacts you have bound others to/are bound to that if wisely bargained obtained you maximum benefits for minimal downsides.

For a Devil who bargained poorly, getting out is extremely attractive. For one who bargained wisely, unless you're dangling a huge prize in front of them, much less so.

Yeah, that's why I'm not too worried about it. We will be able to discern whether it will prove trustworthy, I just don't think we'll like the answer we get. If it ends up being suitable, that's great, but if not I won't be too sad. We always needs more raw materials.

If it turns out not to be a good candidate I call dibs on turning it into some kind of Flesh Forge monstrosity.

That said I really hope it's simply recruitable, it's an amazing Devil as is.

Imagine Gelugon Armor that makes you Immune to Ice and Fire. :p
We better stop here, else we'll end up with the Devil Rangers, gifted Scholarium students outfitted with enchanted belts which magically sheath them in armor made from still living Devils.

When presented with especially tough opponents, they would combine to form the Pit Fiend zord... :p

I'll form the head!

Was poking around the large aoe spells and found we now have access to Curse of Fell Seasons.

2 Mile permanent radius on our choice of effects from these unseasonable weather 'curses'.

We might be able to strengthen the Storm God by giving him a constantly storming domain within the Stormlands.

We could put a big storm out in the desert and overflow those aquifers.

We could thaw out a swathe of land in the North, Castles used to clear woodland within a certain distance of their walls. The Wall will clear Winter itself.

We could give Tywin a miserable time and further disrupt his port.

That has definite promise, though it will probably be difficult to find Darkwood carvings with an inherent value of 3,000+ IM.

@Duesal do you really want to diplomance them right now?

We have a fair bit more Devils to summon still - but I'd rather see that on-screen at 29th-30th of the month..?

Just so that all the summoning and diplomancing is more-or-less organised in a single update (or two), as last month it was... Weird to have summoning happen in the middle of the month and at its end.
Confusing as feck too for sheets.

Here's this month's summoning queue btw:
20% of HD-ceiling is dedicated to summoning Phoenixes and (several) Preceptor Archons.
No random Fiends are to be summoned for capture, unless specified otherwise.

Targets with priority are marked by an *
