Essentially, while recognizing gay marriage shouldn't be an insurmountable problem, we should make it clear that being married is one thing, but a proper heir should be produced in some way, or it defaults, as it always has, to next of kin.

Petitioning for adoption/legitimization shouldn't even be on the legal precedent book as more than a line mentioning how it's something that only happens at the whim of the King.

So I would deduct that all it takes for a promotion is the energy necessary to get to the next rank. And that comes from Leto slowly working her way up by levelling, until she has the reserves to take on a new form.

While the absence of a Pit Fiend is a problem in of itself, it's mostly that we don't want to change the Erinyes.

It's kind of murky then, as are they not beholden to us now?

Furthermore, advancing in the hierarchy of hell, which is what getting promoted alongside the devil-ladder means, when you aren't actually part of it is also pretty weird.

This also assumes they'd change from being Fallen to something else. Furies are actually super special in how you can't make more of them, as they are all fallen angels. They aren't simple ladder climbing Devils.

1. They are as a lord, but not metaphysically. We do not yet have the metaphysical Omph to make Outsiders "ours", to change their body and soul at our will, to let them reform by our power even in death.

2. Yes I admit it's weird, but it seems like a mechanically acceptable solution and not OOC for an Erinyes to decide that she can become better at her job by taking a new form.
Honestly, it might be preferable if there was some sort of Erinyes-class that gives her more benefits than just the pure HD when advancing, something boosting her SLAs and giving her new abilities with growth, but there is no such thing and I would prefer not to homebrew again.

Edit: Dragons effectivly have this, they get casting, more damage-dice for the breath and a new minor feature or SLA with every age-category.

Bu-bu-but I want the Erinyes to evolve like pokemon :V

Something new then? How about we let the dice decide? Let her gain more wings ala Seraph?

Well then back to the drawing board.
It just feels a bit unfair that Mereth and Sarella get classfeatures, a Dragon advancing on pure HD gets casting, more damage-dice for the breath and a new minor feature or SLA with every age-category and Leto just gets the minimal package.

Edit: At least a new SLA, increased DR or better stats would be nice.

Why is them taking levels in Steel Fury not a solution?

I'd question that, as for one their wings changed to be the color of our scales the moment they swore to us.

And also this, Erynies are all fallen angels. An Erynies might become something else, but something else can never become and Erynies. They were themselves before their fall, during it, and afterwards.

Erynies are considered elite Devils even with their modest CR precisely because of that.

And especially for an Advanced one, I figure that if she were going to change into something else she'd have done so by now.

New abilities sound fine in principle.
 
For one, keeping her SR as 11 + RHD would be nice (she has 9 HD and SR 20). Upping the DR to 10 at some point, and perhaps a logical progression for the SLAs (like adding the PF's Fear SLA), and Charm -> Dominate Monster at 18 HD. Adding say, +1 NA every other level.

You don't need much when your base chassis is d8, Full BAB, 8+INT skills and all good saves. Sure, you need something, as the Monk readily proves, but Erynies are really just generally nicely done. Especially Advanced ones, fantastic stats, flight, saves, good special abilities and qualities, good SLAs.

Since they are fallen Angel's could they advance under that type? Maybe gaining the abilities but staying erinyes somehow?

I do see the point that the scaling they have seems kinda limited.
 
I know it doesn't pertain to Leto, but given Erynies like being Erynies, would it be reasonable if the normal ones "stockpiled" two advancements and spent them to "buy" the Advanced template, and then they start to more RHD, or, rarely, levels?

I agree with this. Otherwise, why would the Advanced Template exist?

IMO the Advanced Template should be worth 2 or 3 levels though, not just one.
