[X] Yes it was magic like in the stories but I can't do much of it and you have keep it secret for both our sakes. I'll show you more when I can.
[X] The One-eyed Rat Tavern: If the idea of working for the Sea Lord is distasteful than this one is revolting. However it does offer two advantages. Firstly you would not have to reveal your powers and secondly your abilities and natural leadership skills should allow you to rule over those wretches in short order.

Alright, this is basically going to be "The Lies of Locke Lamora"-Quest, and I'm ok
The Thorn of Braavos has a nice ring to it.

Just as a note the votes are presented IC. Viserys may think it would be trivial to rule over criminals but he is not the best judge of such things. He is riding the "I have magic" high right now.

Then again magic does cover a multitude of sins (like being a relatively sheltered 13 year old princeleing).

huh, that actually might really work.
We need power to make up for our fallen family and becoming an underworld boss. Besides, it is traditional, many noble and political families started out as crime lords
I'm not in principle opposed to that. However, we can't go there as Viserys Targaryen.

As long as we're Viserys Targaryen, we'll always have a bullseye on our back. Being Targaryen does little to nothing to increase our value to this old man at One-Eyed Rat. Except as a potential article for sale to be offered to Robert Baratheon over in the Seven Kingdoms. Who would probably pay a tidy sum to get his hands on us. Rather tempting for criminals, that.

So let's not tempt them. The first step we must take is some frigging hairdye and a new set of "common" clothes.

[x] Eventually the one-eyed rat tavern. But first you need cover identities for yourselves and Daenerys, as without Ser Darry's protection it would be unwise to let the world know that you're Targaryens. You have more than 24 Gold Dragons, which is enough to live off for years. It's guaranteed to also be enough for a steady supply of henna or indigo or something. And you guess you'll need a peasants' outfits... shudder... once that's done, find a not-too expensive inn and lay low for a week or two.

Once that's done, we can worry about how to best enter the one-eyed rat's employ without letting them know that "Fyro sent us". Shouldn't be too difficult. Maybe we can steal something moderately valuable and go there to have it fenced?
@DragonParadox
BTW, don't shouldn't we also have Viserys mothers crown and assorted jewelry hidden away somewhere?

I just don't think Viserys is ready for Braavosi politics yet. The Sealord will know how useful a pawn a Targaryen will be. I also like the idea of the Braavosi underworld, to keep his abilities hidden in rumor and shadow.

The crown was in his room and it is in your inventory. The jewels have all been sold off or stolen.
I think what he means is that the thieves would steal it from us even after we join them if we don't bury it under a tree or some such

I agree wholeheartedly. I also think it's insanely reckless to enter the Braavosi underworld as Viserys Targaryen. That's the kind of thing that gets you locked up in a shipping crate, destination King's Landing.
I don't think this is the kind of skill we can expect from a 13 year old prince. I expect we will develop such a skill shortly, but currently any disguise attempt would do more harm the good. Also, MC has alter self, its the sister that is going to be more difficult to hide.

Also, I don't think everyone can just recognize us at a glance, we could just use a fake name for most of the thieves without drawing attention to ourselves with a really bad disguise.
... wearing commoner clothes though is a good idea which I support

That is a risk. Hiding it would be advised as would not introducing yourself as Visserys Targaryen. Hair dye however may not be strictly necessary. The looks of Old Valyria's nobility are common enough in Braavos.

A pity. Still, we're hardly destitute. I've read that according to a quote from The Hedge Knight, 3 dragons are enough for a man to live on well for a year. We have Dany to worry about, and Braavos might be more expensive than Westeros, being the rich mercantile city it is. Still, we should have enough money to last for at least 2 or 3 years.

Theoretically. In practice we should easily be able to make more.

Common enough among commoners and criminals? Even in Lys or Volantis I doubt that would be the case, and Braavos was founded by escaped slaves - very unlikely to have been Valyrians. Out of all the Free Cities it probably has the fewest people with Valyrian coloring. And we would not be recognized when just a relatively short while ago some guy who's obviously associated with the One-Eyed rat gang, or whatever we're looking at here sent two Targaryens there?

If this ends with anything less than the two of us shipped off to Westeros in a box, it means you're really, really forgiving as a GM. :p

Honestly, it would probably be best not to go to the One-Eyed rat at all - there's a chance we'll eventually run into un-charmed Fyro there, and he'd probably recognize us even with a disguise. On the other hand I didn't get the impression that Fyro was a regular of this old man, just an associate. So to my mind it's an acceptable risk.

But we absolutely need a disguise and a cover identity.

The lyseni bred slaves with the features of Valyrian nobility intentionally. It is said that half the whores in Lys have silver hair.

That said there will be a sub-quest for silencing Fyro quite soon if you go that path (and now I'm giving away spoilers)

Oh good, I like the idea of that quest.
charm him, convince him to get very drunk in our presence, slit his throat when he is unconscious

hmm, you know it is almost tempting to take the boat and start off somewhere else.

Actually if we were to cut and run what kind of options would we have?

I should probably read the books one day considering just how many quests are based on them
  1. The western Free Cities are all Valyrian colonies and slave holders but otherwise broadly similar to Braavos
  2. Slaver's bay is populated with colonies of Old Ghis (they dislike the Valyrians a lot on the grounds of the dragon Lords crushing them with the use of fire-breathing murder lizards).
  3. Dragonstone is the ancestral home of the Targs... and currently held by the Usurper's own brother. On the other hand the large population of Dragonseeds (Targaryan bastards) is still sympathetic to the Dragons' cause as are many of the lesser lords of the Narrow Sea. Most importantly there may be many secrets and treasures hidden on the island that only one of Targaryan blood may find.

interesting. I am thinking maybe grow up here in the crime den, and then expand our thieves guild to dragonstone and relocate MC there

Dragonstone is a castle with a village, I don't think it can support a thieves guild, and it's lord would kill us the second he found out we were there. I'd say grow up in Braavos, maybe stop at Dragonstone for a day or two, and then move to Volantis or possible Lys.

Castles should have castle towns around them...
then again, that is IRL. This is fantasy story so maybe they do not.

Dragonstone has to feed itself primarily from the sea because the landscape of the isle is not particularly conductive to farming. It is only important at all because of its strategic position and the ancient Valyrian-built citadel on the Dragonmount.
