I made a mistake by making assumptions, and thinking that only a powerful artifact would be able to hold an Ancient Dragon, yes.

It seemed reasonable, however.

And @Duesal, we weren't ever going to use it against Tiamat - people were against that to begin with, because "dragons hate whoever use it", and we would care so much for that.
And now we know she has no red dragons, effectively - with but 1 staying behind out of all resurrected.

So.
Pointless piece of crap.
:/
Not pointless at all. That is a Red Dragon Wyrm we can eventually try to butcher for crafting materials when we're a few levels stronger.

I disagree.
It is but an encounter, of which we can pick many, at any time. Just go to Valyria. Raid hell. Take part in Blood War. Go to Asshai. Etc.
*is markedly disinterested in dragon trophies at this point*
(Those aren't even unique enough)

I expected a whole bunch of sacrificial power, maybe enough to bootstart resurrection of Meraxes, or cut her off the 15th.
Yss is just the kind of guy to do that.

But since that's up to dice now, well...

*sigh*
I'm just going to sleep now.
Much as that's largely my own fault, I'm still hugely disappointed.

This isn't just for a trophy. A CR 23 minimum corpse is the kind of thing Lya can make an artifact out of.

EDIT: Also, I seriously doubt anything short of actually dealing with the 15th is going to cut her off from the 15th.

What do we want to do with the Dragon? I personally want to feed it to Yss and have him make us a draconic minion who has all the dragons lore in his head so that he can put it down in a book as well as a powerful vassal with good diplo we can send to do things.

Well, it definitely needs to die. If we feed it to Yss that's perfectly fine.

But the thing is you're going to get more of a snake minion than a draconic minion due to which god you're dealing with. If you want a dragon-themed minion you need to poke at the Fourteen.

If the Wyrm proves to be serviceable he serves, if not he dies an serves as the carpet and the Swanky Gear

I think he means something alike Tor 2.0

We already asked DP about this. The wyrm is supremely unwilling to bow to what he sees as a young whelp of a dragon. This is a standard True Red in mentality, not a more reasonable one like Amrelath.

I know what he meant, but my point still stands. You can go to Yss and get a subordinate, but that subordinate is going to be snake-themed in its blessings, not dragon-themed. If you're fine with snake-themed then this is the way to go (and for the record I'm fine with it).

I mean it just has to have the knowledge and lore the Red Dragon had as well as a good diplo skill and combat prowess. I mean I am fine with a Coatl that can fight and diplomacy as long as I get lore from it. It is a waste of quality materials though.

If the minion to be empowered was a Pseudo-dragon, or some other dragonkin, then I expect it might result in Yss making a new form of true dragon, a distinctly serpentine True dragon, but still a True dragon.

Tor 2.0 might have some snake theme, but he's still more human and Rakshasa than Snake, if we used a draconic minion as the chassis, and sacrificed a dragon, I expect he would make us a dragon with snake aspects.

We're not getting coatls unless we poke at Zathir's lost minions, but if your only goal is implanting the lore of the Red Dragon in something's head then that's easily arranged.

Gaze of Damnation (Su)

The gaze attack of a hellfire creature can cause pain and damage to any non-lawful evil living creature within 30 ft. Your opponent must make a successful Will save (DC 10 +1/2 the base creature's HD + its Charisma modifier) or suffer wracking pains that inflict a circumstance penalty on attack rolls, skill checks, and ability checks equal to the hellfire creature's Charisma bonus (minimum -1) and also suffer 2d6 points of hellfire damage each round for 1 rounds per CR of the hellfire creature. The flames can be put out as per damnation's burn but the penalty due to racking pains remains for the duration.
...can we make Viserys' gase set people on fire like that (obviously, without the HELL-part)?
Pretty please? :V
I know there's a spell to make his words do that...
