And so, Azel passed from the thread, leaving behind his legacy of evil to go forth and blossom in his stead. Truly, he was a...martyr for his cause.
The Devil did not wrong! The first of us committed no sin but loved more then any of us!
I'd be astonished if they couldn't, as it would mean their alignment was more set in stone than a literal angel.
I'd be astonished if they could. Redemption would be easy, and Hell's souls would never be secure.

Edit: Cause the cultist either gave away his soul or traded it to a demon. It's much more set in stone then simply changing ones POV.

I could be misreading it, but I'm pretty sure they're bringing her immediately to the tree for hanging.
No, they should be bringing her to the larder.
Can a cultist repent? Did they not already give their souls to one of the lords of Hell?

Edit: I'm not questioning if a cultist would want to repent, more that if they could turn back now that Hell has a finger on their soul.
Yes, your soul is very fundamentally your own.
Actually loosing the rights to it takes a direct deal and contract, that most daemon-worshippers don't get to make.

Edit: Dany is an example for someone important enough to actually sell her soul, most cultists just give it.

[X] Change something of what you had seen, the past is dead but the future is yet open?
-[X] Limit the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction - Weapons such that you deployed against Lannisport require foes against which they are the only option. Limit use of WMDs to use against the White Walkers, other truly existential threats to Planetos itself, and peer powers possessed of similar systems.

Right, so I agree with the later part of this vote, but this is the part I do not understand. What do you mean by a peer power possessing a similar system? Shouldn't it just be a peer power, just due to the fact that if they are a peer power, they can pull the bs that we pull as well.

So then we should build a asylum and treat cultists?

This is, in fact, literally what my vote says we should do.

Hm. Yeah, ok, point. Fixing.

Ideally, yes. In practice? ...eh. This is where traditional morality and utilitarianism being to mesh in an ugly manner. The ability to treat people for psychological trauma at all is still currently severely limited, and the effort expended in speeding up the development of that ability might be best spent elsewhere as of right now. That's not even getting into the actual problem of handling treating a daemon cultist for that kind of trauma.

The last thing I'd want to do is create a Victorian era style insane asylum as an answer to demon cultists.

[X] Abstain

I have serious reservations about this discussion, but only because it should have been addressed long ago instead of shoehorned in by your plot device character.

I genuinely apologize for the fact that his feels shehorned in

I was repeatedly asked to express my issues. And repeatedly asked to stick around for the discussion.

The first message I've send DP yesterday evening when he asked me to lay out my opinion:

What I've said earlier about my desire to have this discussion:

So, to clarify, various people asked me to make it do this dance. All I did was being annoyed by something and expressing such in the thread.

People asked me to make it dance the same old dance.

And you know what? I'm done.

@Algalon, since you've been voting just a bit ago I feel you are the best person to badger about this. Is it within your power to threadban me for a week? Posting and viewing?

I'm sorry that this is frustrating for you.

I don't know guys I keep messing things up as I try to fix them. Sometimes I just think the thread is unsalvageable and causes more trouble than it brings enjoyment. :(

Meh, we can get through this morality speed bump, either way, it is good we are having this now, vs another guy " breaking us with us words ".

Do what Viserys would, ignore the ignorant masses and purge the dissenters. It's for the greater good.

You didn't mess up anything, DP. People are going to be people.

There is nothing wrong with the thread, either. The only reason people get frustrated like this is because they care, and they only care because you've done such a damned good job of building the quest and running it.

I think by now we shopuld all just accept that occasinal saltsploaions are inevitable every now and again.

Yet again and again, we overcome them, we push on, we.have. fun.

Morality debate here... Kinda a continuation of an old one. Kinda isn't.
But it's not nearly as bad as Dany swearing to Timmie's been, if what I'm led to believe is right.
Or that time on interplanar market when we inadvertedly revealed the Garden's existence.
Or Syrax debacle.
Or Abery business.

You name it - we'll have another salt bigger and worse than this already gone through.

Don't forget the temple to the Seven debate or the Kingkiller debate. Those two really made me vitriolic. And not just because of miscommunication. That is the saltiest I have been in this quest.

What this quest needs is more Glyra and less salt. The Pondmaster thing was amazing!

How about a RHANGO AND HORSE interlude?

Well i just went through that whole discussion and i am mildly disappointed that people were salty enough that they wanted our MC to become either evil or willingly shatter his whole world view that it came to this.

I mean, yeah, he has his own self deceptions but EVERYONE DOES. Its impossible not to be human without those.

Edit: i pretty much realized it was an open choice beyond "all is well"

It's not. At all. We're just people, and because we care, we get passionate about things. That's a sign of success in your writing, not failure.

You forgot the whole Myrcella thing :V
