Thunderous Faith: Septon Dondar of Weeping Town, a man of much spirit known for preaching in the less affluent parts of the town, had been arrested by the local armsmen for spreading what is starting to be called the 'Particularist Heresy' by the clergy in King's Landing, for its emphasis on the personal responsibility of each septon to lead their congregation and for each man or woman to choose their septon. So far Dondar's followers have only been responsible for sporadic attacks on the armsmen of House Whitehead, though many fear it might escalate to rioting if the renegade septon is killed.
So this is our guy. @DragonParadox, where is he imprisoned? What do we need to watch out for? On the bright side this is the perfect time to do the rescue, since we know where Lucan and his angels are going to be (not guarding Septon Dondar).

Okay, so that's at the edge of the Stormlands. So long as they don't run into PCs, it shouldn't be hard to pull off.

-[] Contact Yrael, ask that he and a few Archons go to Whitehead Keep and publicly (and safely, no unnecessary risks) free Septon Dondar. That man is one whose preaching will lead to a land of more tolerance and peace, he must survive. His chances will be greater if he is seen to have divine blessings.
--[] They don't need to talk if the questions asked are awkward. Their only goal is to be seen while freeing Septon Dondar.
--[] They are to be backed by Yss divinations to make sure that no nasty surprises are waiting for them.

That's a side vote, though. Not really sure what to do about the Hightower coup.

Keep in mind that the enemy angels can teleport as well.
Maybe send Dany with them just in case?

Yrael is an Archon.

We had this discussion already didn't we?

I think we all agreed to send Danny in disguise since we need someone to play the part of the sevens servants.
I am well aware of your reservations. That's why I asked.
@Goldfish, what can we arrange for a quick rescue mission? @DragonParadox, is Yrael okay with a plan to be publicly seen setting the septon free, or do we need to think of something else?
Sure he is entirely fine with that.
Explicit GM confirmation that it's perfectly fine.

EDIT: That said, Dany should also go. She can be the mouthpiece if necessary.

To clarify Yrael would not lie but neither would be specifically stop in the middle of his rescue to explain he is not a servant of the Seven.

If this was strictly white hat work it wouldn't be a problem the thing is we are only helping this guy to hurt the seven, and to spread chaos and misinformation.

I don't think involving the super honest and moraly upstanding Archons will be good for them or the plan.

Edit: ninjad'
Cool. Good to know.

Speaking of which. Post update Yraels diplomacy and sense motive will be... Hefty. Is that alright @DragonParadox ? He has described himself as not having a way with words multiple times.

I'm pretty sure we've successfully sold to Yrael that the Seven are a bad thing for Westeros given their policy on magic, and aiding dissenting voices where we can is going to save more lives in the long run. He's not going to be hurt by serving the greater good.

Also, I'm really not sure what else to say here. DP himself says that Yrael is willing to go along with this. What more do you want?

Yrael: "It's not lying."

Lucan: "IT'S DEFINITELY A LIE!"

Yrael: "They didn't ask. One can hardly fault me for blind faith."

Lucan: :rage::anger::mad:

@DragonParadox

Have you been reading up on the current to-do, going on in the site dealing with quests?

I read it yes, to be honest I think of it as just common sense that the GM should help keep an atmosphere in a quest from becoming toxic, not that that applies to this quest. We have had our disputes and issues but I think you could count the infractions in this quest on the fingers of one hand.

This is positive thinking, but many people are incredibly incapable of making the sacrifice and trying to interject positive thoughts when faced with negativity, much unlike you. Sometimes they just respond with more negativity, which is probably why they're talking about this like it is an issue. Sometimes the GM just does not feel it is their 'responsibility' to 'herd cats'.

And let's face it, we're all here to read and play, and if someone feels like their audience is shitting in their cornflakes they might not see why they should expend the energy to reign them in.

To note, I agree with you, though.

[X] Plan Sneaky Heretic
-[X] First and foremost, scry Ser Garth and see where he is as well as who he's meeting with.
--[X] Continue having him monitored so you can immediately rescue him if necessary.
-[X] Do some cursory work and check on the septon's sympathies, see if you can find out who he's in communication with.
--[X] After finding out what you can, go meet with Lord Hightower and bring up these suspicions. If necessary, deflect blame from Lynesse by pointing out you have been investigating Lucan quite heavily.
-[X] In the meantime, contact Yrael, and ask that he and a few Archons go to Whitehead Keep and publicly (and safely, no unnecessary risks) free Septon Dondar. That man is one whose preaching will lead to a land of more tolerance and peace, he must survive. His chances will be greater if he is seen to have divine blessings.

--[X] Send Dany with them to serve as the mouthpiece if needed as well as to fight with them should any surprises pop up.
