Speaking of Song of the Heart and Bard builds, I still want a Bards college so we can get a supply of them to buff our legion formations. A level 3 Bard, properly equipped, can give every ally that can hear them +4 Attack and damage, or 4d6 with DfI. And they stack. Give our guys some kettledrums or something and go to town.

Having bardic drummers and possibly trumpeters for the Legion would be heavily thematic. I'm game.

Fingers crossed on Team Arcanum vs. Team Red, because of the awesome chance to see Nuri sneak up on Mel and unceremoniously slitting her throat from behind.
In canon Mel's specialty was seeing threats to her own life long before they happen.
I suspect if that fluff has been turned into crunch here a surprise throat-slitting is the least likely way to bring her down.

Still, Nuri, Mereth and Aradia hit hard and Mercy can buff, maybe they'll overwhelm here before she can shoot them down.

Most of that was likely just the Westerosi being comically inept at assassinating people compared to the Volantene or Asshaii.

Potentially. Still doesn't mean Nuri couldn't invisible get behind her and carve her up like a lamb. Her peak damage output is pretty damn horrifying.
It certainly is, I'm just saying her chances of applying that damage aren't much better from behind that from the front.

Though looking at Nuri's attacks boni she will need to avoid Dispels to have a good chance of hitting.

Bardic college: Would also produce our builders (lyre of building users)

So as I was sorting though the vassals it struck me that Hermetia is rather under equipped, though she certainly has the money to do some serious WBL-mancy. What would you guys sugest for her with a budget of 25.000 IM or so?

Added Grazdan to the Widward section of the vassal sheet though his build is not complete. I have not decided on his feats other than the background and the ones he needs for his PrC.

Anyway vote closed.

  • [X] Tell her that you will take this request under consideration. You already have some ideas in that regard, but want to wait for the official ceremony to announce the final decisions.

--[X] Try to strike up a conversation about the arcane details of various types of undead. What is the difference between a skeleton and a vampire or Lich? Where does an undead creature end and a construct made from bone and flesh begin?

She doesn't need 25,000 IM for us to get her very well geared. Each of the Misfits, for example is getting around 6k IM worth of gear, starting almost from scratch, and they're making out really, really well.

If we're going to give Hermetia the deluxe treatment, 10,000 IM would probably be more than enough. Unfortunately, there isn't enough crafting capacity remaining in the upcoming 9th month. Is she all right waiting until the 10th month?

She is fully willing and able to go off tho the Opaline Vault and buy her gear with her own money, I'm just looking for suggestions as to what she would get.

I think we can assume she got some stuff commissioned elsewhere.
I live for the day that we create a Launch Item system capable of fully automatic fire.
Speaking of those, I've got a few ideas for Hermetia in particular and our people in general.

Inb4 self-purchase subsidies for the vassals we like, reducing the cost of their expense to crafting price :V

Gatling Launchers!

Each Launcher costs 180 IM. A Lesser False Raven capable of flight and even speech costs us 25 IM. @DragonParadox would probably let us make a 200 IM Construct version of the Launcher that is capable of aiming and firing itself.

Six or eight of them in a stacked or cylindrical arrangement wouldn't exactly be capable of automatic fire, but they sure could put a lot of projectiles in the air at a rapid rate. If we use speed loaders and a dedicated loader Construct, we could remove people from the equation entirely.

In all seriousness, I'm pretty sure I know how to get an automatic firing Launch Item weapon to work. The main issue I'm finding is a purely mechanical (actual mechanisms not mechanics) one, and that's how you supply the necessary ammunition for automatic fire without breaking the action economy.

I think that a specially designed and miniaturised Quiver of Abundant Ammunition would work, but I'm not sure.

I want to make a single barrel version that's easily man portable. And I think know how, it's just getting the pieces together.

It's not quite that simple. The raven constructs are so inexpensive to make because they look like ravens (something capable of movement flight and associated with wisdom) A launcher which is basically a weapon is not naturally capable to either independent motion or thought so to make it fire itself you would have o make it an intelligent weapon (vastly more expensive than a small construct).

It all comes down to the Law of Sympathy, it is far easier to make a +1 crossbow out of a crossbow than it is do do the same out of a block of wood. That is why so many constructs are humanoid or at least imitate other living beings.
