He gets a lot. Belos has done very well for himself.

Yep. As a 4th to 10th place finisher, he receives the following:
Spend Divinations on finding out instead? To figure that out, we would have to actually eat them.
Do you really want to swallow something like Magister Empty of House Calories?
Well, grilled fat ...To figure that out, we would have to actually eat them.

Should be enough to get him a cushy manor in Sorcerer's Deep, and the weapons are fantastic for furthering his Legion career.Yep. As a 4th to 10th place finisher, he receives the following:
250 Imperial Marks, Valyrian Steel Dagger (SD Festival Edition), a +1 weapon, +1 suit of armor, and +1 shield.
Or he invests in more Alchemical gimmicks, since he seems to use that a lot.Should be enough to get him a cushy manor in Sorcerer's Deep, and the weapons are fantastic for furthering his Legion career.
I don't want to do it but it's for science, so I say that if we take one of the red dragons Tiamat released alive, we make it be the guinea pig for the research. To figure that out, we would have to actually eat them.

Fact: A healthy Red Dragon can survive for several centuries on a diet of stone.I don't want to do it but it's for science, so I say that if we take one of the red dragons Tiamat released alive, we make it be the guinea pig for the research.
No way that is enough for a manor house. He should be able to afford a modest home, though, with plenty left over for furnishings and other essentials.Should be enough to get him a cushy manor in Sorcerer's Deep, and the weapons are fantastic for furthering his Legion career.
Dragon Needs Magisters Badly!Fact: A healthy Red Dragon can survive for several centuries on a diet of stone.
Hypothesis: A healthy Red Dragon can survive at least one decade on a diet of Magisters.
Test Log, Day One:
Now that I think about it, we might have to drop this line of research, I think we have been too effective in ridding the world of Magisters, and so probably don't have a sufficient supply.Fact: A healthy Red Dragon can survive for several centuries on a diet of stone.

I was mainly envisioning the equivalent of the Wind House back in Braavos. No way that is enough for a manor house. He should be able to afford a modest home, though, with plenty left over for furnishings and other essentials.
With a budget of 250 IM it's certainly affordable, even with decent staff to go with it.[] Wind House
Description: The headquarters of a nearly defunct explorers society this place could prove a treasure trove if you are fortunate... or a firetrap full of old junk if you are not. The current rather senile owner will not sell it unless you agree to keep the Windward Society functioning. This will include higher operating costs, a significant chance of having your secrets discovered and there is also the potential of being drawn into quarrels that are not yours. On the other hand of your current options it is the one that looks the least like a ruin.
Price: 75 Iron Marks
Basic Operating Expenses: 35 Iron Marks per year
+ Treasures of the past
+ In decent condition
+ Potential foreign contacts
- Higher operating expediences
- Obligation to host the Windward Society at least until the last of the membership passes away
- Possibility of being drawn into old quarrels.
What servants will you hire:
[] A cook (recommended, most of the prospective guests could burn water)
-[] Low quality (2 Iron Marks yearly stipend)
-[] Medium quality (8 Iron Marks yearly stipend)
-[] High quality (20 Iron Marks yearly stipend)
[] A maid (may be taken multiple times)
-[] Low quality (1 Iron Marks yearly stipend)
-[] Medium quality (5 Iron Marks yearly stipend)
-[] High quality (16 Iron Marks yearly stipend)
[] An errand boy/girl from the Rat to better keep in touch with the guild (One half-mark to be paid in pennies so s/he won't just run away with the money)
Remember that was pretty cheap in exchange for keeping the Windward Meetings up.With a budget of 250 IM it's certainly affordable, even with decent staff to go with it.

That said, I agree with Artemis that he's probably going to dump this into alchemy and just keep trying to advance in the Legion.
EDIT: That, or if he's smart he'll start investing and making those funds grow. He could make this a seed fund and come back to a nice cushy retirement.
That was before of the first Great Currency Reforms.
Wind House would probably be worth a lot more under current economics.

I'd forgotten about that. It's been a while...I was mainly envisioning the equivalent of the Wind House back in Braavos.

That depends. What do you define as a "Middle Class"? The term is rather ambiguous in sociology and depends a lot on local standards.I'd forgotten about that. It's been a while...
Still, property prices in SD are probably a bit higher than that, considering it's rate of growth and the influx of immigrants, many of them quite wealthy.
Thinking about it, I'm kind of curious about what the local economy of SD looks like, @DragonParadox, @Azel. We pay our people well and the economy is booming. Does that translate to island-wide gentrification, the creation of a legitimate Middle Class, etc?
Don't we have Uber cheap government housing anyway? That depends. What do you define as a "Middle Class"? The term is rather ambiguous in sociology and depends a lot on local standards.
Yeah, we have a lot of that. We keep pumping out entire city blocks every time we do a migration action.Don't we have Uber cheap government housing anyway?
I remember us putting Xor on that quite a bit.
Sandstorm and Frostbrun have them.Hey, could someone give me the "temperature band" definition here?
And, hopefully, a clear distinction between what temperature makes what band and what effect that has?
Googling have me very little, besides Fahrenheit temperatures which I don't get at all.
Not that places that have them have any distinction for bands lined out either.
:/
