Meddle not in the affairs of Snowfires. For you are flammable, delicious when cooked, and freezer friendly :V

I always wondered why both the snow and the fire :V

Man, am I glad my dentist was apparently pretty dang competent, as he suggested full anesthesia from the get go.

All four of mine grew like that too, and I had to do that.

Was like four hours and change of surgery, dentist was sweating by the end. Apparently, I too have very hard bones, like @Deliste,, and he had a bitch of a time grinding it all away.

Honestly, staying awake through it all sounds like a nightmare, I'm glad for the extra four hundred (brazillian) bucks for hiring the anesthesist. Pretty penny, but I was out in like ten seconds, only got woken up after everything had been sewn shut and they were putting away tools.

Didn't have any post surgery troubles tho. Stitching was of the sort that naturally dissolves after a while, so just had to pull a handful in the dentist.

Goddamn, these all sound like horror stories. I got 2 wisdom teeth still, top right, bottom left. But they just sit there under my gums. Dentist said as long as they don't do anything, they're basically spare teeth incase something happens to one of the others.

Well back to the wisdom teeth discussion quickly. It turns out that I had two of them growing on one side (don't ask how. I don't know) so I had to get both removed. And one of them was close to a nerve so... yeah. Luckily it wasn't too bad

The only other one I would be really curious about is Tiamat when she learns that we portrayed her precious Golden Company drakes and dragons as misbegotten, mutated monstrosities.
I think it was less turning them into mutants and more portraying them as tiny, vicious lesser things in the face of real dragons like the Empire has.

OMG...Ysilla invented tabletop gaming.

First it was the clipboard, now this. The girl needs a Calligraphy Wyrm and a Bulabar assistant to help her brainstorm new ideas and to record them so no other gems are missed.

@Azel Thoughts on opening an Imperial Patent Office?

Patents and copyright are vile abominations of capitalism, destroying the free market and ushering into an age of neo-feudalism.

So: Fuck, no!

It's worse than that. Proto-warhammer.

What have we done?
It has nothing in common with Warhammer, if it was proto-Warhammer, then the figures would cost a fortune, instead of being given away or sold for a pittance as festival mementos.
We created a capitalist monster. First the clipboards, now Warhammer. Ysilla will be swimming in money before she is even an adult.
How much can she earn from this? She isn't the producer of the figures, so she wont see much profit from people wanting to gather an army, so all she will really sell are rulebooks, and how many will buy those, instead of just playing by memory? It's not like Literacy is high in our empire at the moment either, so even if people were inclined to buy rulebooks, they wouldn't be able to read them, which make buying them useless.

I want a Teana interview, one where she expounds the virtues of a genuine Scholarium education for mages, the benefits and opportunities it provides, the access to spell magic, lore, and research, etc.

If they are permanent sure, if they are temporary, then they are a way to make sure, inventors get paid for all their research, it's not good if someone spend years on inventing something, and the week after, someone bought one copied it and started their own shop, there need to be a grace period, where the inventor can profit from their invention, it just also need to not be so long, that it limit further improvements to the invention.

So personally I would suggest, that if you invent something brand new, then you can apply for a 5 year patent(which absolutely can't be renewed, that's it for your monopoly) and if you significantly improve an existing invention, then you can apply for a 1 year patent, that give you sole right to the improvement, but of course not the basic invention.

Basically give the inventors time enough, that someone who cleverly use divination, can't be out-competing them the week after they started their new business, but don't give them enough time to create a hegemony.

With books you should have the permanent copyright for the actual book, but the right to the characters and setting, should once again only last 5 years.

Copywrite helps protect creativity, which is useful only for artists who only have to stand upon things like unique ideas literally just being copied and having the names involved switched around.

But otherwise those kinds of laws would only serve to stunt and stifle innovation and growth, so no! LET THE MARKET DECIDE!

And you know, poor starving artist. Thus we sacrifice you upon the altar of capitalism...

This is a myth, spread by media companies.

Consider this:
If Disney makes a movie and you write a novel that is a thinly veiled copy of it, Disneys legal team will ruin you.
If you write a novel and Disney makes a movie that is a thinly veiled copy of it, you can either stay quiet or speak up and have Disneys legal team ruin you.

Copyright disputes are solved exclusively in favor of the side with more money and patience. Which is why patent trolls go after small companies, not international juggernauts.

To say nothing about Disney's repeated attempts to get copyright on public domain characters and works on the basis of having made a adaptation of the material.

The whole thing is a sham to promote corporate interests while actual artists are those most likely to be exploited by it.
