  • [X] Plan The Shape Of Things To Come
-[X] "The full plan is not yet ripe to be revealed, for there are too many plots and agreements buried within that need their secrecy for now, lest some Lion decides to set the kingdom alight before everything is in place. What I can give you though are a few details and some thoughts, so you may see the shape of things." // Truth. Half of our Westerosi allies don't even properly know of each other and nobody except us and Bloodraven knows any details of the plots going on there.
-[X] "My house was betrayed by all kingdoms save one. The North, the Vale and the Stormlands rose in open rebellion. Hoster Tully sold his loyalty for two betrothals. And while the Fat Flower sat in the Stormlands with most of his army and doing as his name suggests, the Lion came into the capital under the banner of peace to burn it to the ground and slay every member of my family he could find. I'm almost willing to give the Iron Born a pass for their role in it all, because only a fool would have expected anything else from Balon Greyjoy then what he did." // A short summary of the Ursupation. And yes, I do very much have a grudge against the Tyrells here. Had they moved to Kings Landing when news came from the Trident, the sack and the defeat of the Targs could have been averted. Instead they sat on the sidelines and made sure to not be too unpleasant an ally to the new order.
-[X] "So, Lord Frey, if you were in my position, what would you do with this lot?" // Spoiler: He wouldn't be pleasant to them. We intentionally don't give our own answer to this, but Walder Prime should get the gist of it. Things will suck for the Lords Paramount. Big time.
-[X] "As for Hoster Tully in particular, I share your opinion on the Tully rule of the Riverlands. It was a unmitigated disaster since the day it started. I'm content to let them keep Riverrun and a few of their banner-men, but they will have a new Lord above them and it won't be a Riverlander. There is little point in burdening whoever would be the Tullys new Lord with the impression that he is their replacement." // Honest opinion. Whoever get's the Tullys would be painted as the new Lord Paramount and have to deal with most of the garbage that before was thrown at them. No point to it.
-[X] "There will be no more Riverlands. There will be a split, to ensure that the new realms are stable and not plagued by the infighting of current times. And if you swear yourself to me, the northern part of the Riverlands is yours, with no Lord above you, save me. I assume that this is what you wanted to hear?" // The part of the division most relevant to him. I could rattle of provinces here, but we already tacitly agreed to his demands for precisely what we wanted to give him anyway, save for Riverrun.

minor form of torture
By most it is considered a fate worse than death.

It also remove almost all off her positive emotional drive. (Ghosts usually held back by things like, wanting revenge, fear of the afterlife, regret over deeds undone.)

Her haunting John (as a class feature) will help a little bit.

He's young and full of stark brand emotional naivety and positivity. Their weird haunting/possession situation should also give her some benefits.

As to it's effect on him... It may or may not be literally sucking the positivity out of him? Maybe?

I imagine being forced to share headspace with the mentally I'll ghost of his mother is having a far greater impact on him.

Edit; @One Autumn Leaf
Dread necromancer actually (3.5)

It was a tad weak so DP threw in the phantom class feature from Spiritualist – d20PFSRD

Edit: you know after all these years I just noticed John's class is going to slowly turn him into an undead.

Maybe we should be freaking out about that. Given where he lives.

After the Trident?

After the Trident every sane person should have wanted the Rebellion to win.

Can you imagine Aerys with Rhaegar dead and all his paranoia proven true by the Rebellion?
Aerys with no adult alternatives for kingship?
I imagine "burn them all" would have been the order of the day.

I will and can never hold a betrayal after that point against anyone, it was the only way to prevent massmurder that would have made the sack of KL look harmless.
"Would you like to be able to actually give your son a hug?"
She can.
She can make herself touchable enough to hit people, so she should be touchable enough for hugging too.

Corporeality is part of the classfeature.

Fair enough, but likewise, Mace could have just marched his army to KL and join forces with the Targ troops there to beat the rebel host at the Trident in the first place, instead of waffling around in the Stormlands after the Baratheon troops were already gone.

Man, old Walder is going to laugh so hard he might need healing. Everybody who looks down on him being brought down to his level? Best news he's ever gotten.

Or you could have him murdered and have a regency for little Aegon. It'd be easy since the Kingsguard got gutted, between the war and Rhaegar sending off half of them. He was paranoid but also too incoherent to defend against a real threat.

But then you'd be a kingslayer, with non of the justification of winning a war about it.

That would fuck up your future too. Especially politically.

I do agree that Aerys having a heartstroke or falling down some stairs at any point of the story would have likely improved things.
Preferable with a Great Council confirming that nothing illegal happened and that a compromise-regent between the participants will keep the piece until Aegon can take over.

But that was rather unlikely.

Eh... someone could have just declared Aerys unfit and install Raeger early. Or until Aegon became of age if you did so post-Trident.

There were options. It's just that nobody wanted to miss the chance to feud over the pointy chair.

Declaring Aerys unfit would have resulted in a civil war anyway I guess, unless everyone agreed?

Rhaegar wasn't that much better than Aerys, he was already showing hints of madness, even if that madness was less cruel than Aerys madness, Rhaegar still showed very clear sign of being a bad king.

I mean kidnapping a noble woman, and being obsessed with prophesies aren't a good start, and Targaryan madness get worse not better with age.
