Doesn't change the fact that 4000 soldiers in the Riverlands are too much to hide and would kickstart the war if people notice that they run around in SD supplied steel.

Maybe give them the harvest magic, and (apart from the monster hunting) tell them to start digging shelters and supply depots that are then filled over the years with the surplus, kinda Viet Cong style?
When Winter (/our conquest) comes having good shelter and supplies will be very important.

That's kinda my point. What if 3000 of them were off getting Legion training, leaving a much smaller, more organized force behind to continue conducting Lads business?

They're part time irregulars at that. We're not going to uproot them just like that. Better to have them trained locally in preparation for a full blown out insurgency once we land in Maidenpool.

How long does Legion training take? Months, right? We could bring a lot of the Lads to Westhaven for Legion training, simultaneously getting them up to useful standards while reducing the number of them in the Riverlands, which as @Azel pointes out is untenable.

@Duesal While they're being trained, there wouldn't be any Legion equipment in the Riverlands to invite anyone to call their banners or kick off a war. We could provide non-descript gear to those who remain in the Riverlands, with no markings tying them back to us.

And when they are trained, they could form the core of our first Westeosi Legion. That has a lot of advantages.

Keep in mind the 'serious' core of the Lads is less than a thousand, 4,000 men is just a hypothetical senario in which Benjicot called everyone. A good amount of the Ladd at any given point consists of local volunteers - whether that be peasants or knights, they're unwilling or unable to actually leave their homes behind for an extended period of time.

Hm... that makes it more reasonable to localize their efforts some more.

Can you tell me which provinces they have allies in?

False Ravens would make it easy for all the scattered groups to communicate safely.
That's my plan. Preferably, we have them establish minor encampments around the Trident and the Forks, which we can use both for Inquisition operations in the short term and as preparation for the invasion. Once that happens, we could force Saltpans, then immediately travel along the rivers to these encampments where supplies are waiting on the Legion. We would be controlling most of the Riverlands within a day and no army could cross it without running head first into a Legion pincer.

They have some presence in pretty much all the Riverlands, but the base of their support stems from the Bay of Crabs and Darry. The closer you get to those areas, the more the Lads will have influence.

I feel it might be worth mentioning that if worst comes to worst The Lads could have a bolthole in the Mountians of the Moon.

That is what I was planning. Not sure what fight to do though. Sandor and snake vs devil had a serious majority, the last time I asked but the rest trailed behind.

What would you guys like to see?

I would like Oberyn's match against Grazdan or Umber vs Lovesick knight. Either or. Also is Oberyn doing the secret knight thing or is he just openly here?

Alright. That we can work with.

[] Plan Insurrection Preparation
-[] Give them 20 lesser ravens, 5 greater ravens and one of the newly made Braziers for communication and scouting.
-[] IC: They will get plenty of supplies, both monetary and in provisions from us. Use these funds and food to their advantage. OOC: We add The Lads as an army to our sheets to simplify accounting for these supplies. This includes his hypothetical numbers of peasants, so that he has enough money to go around.
-[] They are to establish semi-permanent local bases in the Bay of Crabs, Darry, The Trident, Southstone and Blackwood. Further outposts in Seagard and The Crossing would also be good. Focus on locations near the major rivers and use excess supplies to start building well hidden caches for the coming invasion. (See the map.)
-[] The core of their army gets high-quality steel equipment. (100 tons worth)
-[] Keep up the good work, but be careful not to antagonize the lords too much.
-[] Assign them 5 of our Advanced Druid Lotus Leshy we had made this month as magical support, both for healing and to hide their outposts better.
-[] Map:

@Duesal, @Goldfish, @LonelyWolf999, thoughts?

-[] From now on, they will try to keep a low profile. Split up into small groups and only come together for attacks. Use the coin, food and their aid against actual bandits to win the hearts and minds of the local population.
This is pretty much exactly what they've been doing, if you add in fighting Lannister influence and various monsters as well as skirmishing with hostile lords.

Ok. It sounded as if they were mostly sticking together as one force for safety in numbers.

Edit: Replaced this with a reminder to not kickstart a war by being too overt in their acts.

[X] Plan Insurrection Preparation
-[X] Questions for The Lads
--[X] What rumors can they tell us of the Riverlands and of Westeros as a whole?
--[X] Can they give us an accurate accounting of what lords could be counted "loyalist" and what lords would side with the Usurper?
--[X] What supernatural instances have they encountered or heard of (supernatural creatures, mages, clerics, etc)?
--[X] Who are their current nearby enemies and how strong are their forces?
--[X] How many mages do The Lads have, what types, and how strong?
--[X] Of the men in front of us, what are their strengths in warfare? Their weaknesses? (this is basically asking for necessary intel to see what equipment would be best for them when we have the time to make it, starting with what armor and weapons each of them prefers)
--[X] Where are the hidden safe zones for The Lads? Is there a pattern for movement or is it according to the movements of enemies?
--[X] How would the smallfolk would react to being told to stop fighting and instead do other tasks? Their efforts are appreciated, but they lack the training to be effective combatants, and we have far more need of able hands than blades right now.
--[X] Gift them a copy of your Extraordinary Map of the Riverlands, stripped of all secrets of Bloodraven and Varys, but marked with warnings of extreme danger in places of supernatural activity that you are aware of.
-[X] Support and orders for The Lads.

What we need is a cooking interlude. The Wandering Inn just had an amazing fantasy cooking competition chapter! ASWAH has to do better!

[scribbles in notes for an omake if DP isn't interested]

I mean, that's what the core does, although Benjicot recently split them into three groups because they'd gotten too big and unwieldy. You still need a bunch of guys who know what they're doing in order to coordinate the locals and get shit done.
