Damn, I knew the amulet was going to have a serious drawback, but that is really rough.

While the amulet is a no-go, the Mind Blank ring is quite nice. What do y'all think of gifting it to Bloom?

People, we need to keep Tywin's latest crime a secret.
My first instinct was "let's have the Master of Whispers tell Robert in front of the court!", but the very idea of this isn't something I want to see among the nobility. Knowing it can happen isn't the same thing as seeing it succeed!
No, let's just free them discreetly and/or use them for our own ends.

And about the Amulet's drawback: it's typical of every single piece of loot in this quest. We've gotten used to custom-crafted pieces of RAW MIGHT, but that's normal for things Varys would have found.

Meanwhile, in metaspace:

Mammon: The mortal's soul is mine by willfully given pact! I demand you release it to me!

OG: S....

Mammon: It was a deal fairly done, now my price is due.

OG: Si....eco...

Mammon: Speak, damn you! I know you ca-

OG: Six. Seconds.

Mammon: TARGAAAAAARYEN!! :mad::mad::mad:

Rather than make such crimes public, we should quietly visit each bespelled Lord, free them of the magical binding them, then let them reveal the crimes.

This was my thought, too. That or free them and convince them to keep it hidden for now, to be used at the right time. Enthrallment of your lords is unlikely to play well if it comes out, say, right as Tywin calls his banners against the Reconquest :drevil:

Oh, Mamons sign appearing means he's aware of Varys' current circumstances. I assume he'll work on uncovering our simulacrum once it's active.
To be fair, If you're terminally paranoid about magic, the 'not able to accept magic from outside sources' isn't really a downside.

Varys probably thought he had hit the jackpot when he found that amulet.
Yes, who needs a 'heal' from an ally if you don't have allies ...

I think that there is likely to be a trap in that too, 'cuz devils. No way they're gonna use something that powerful as part of their "one out of ten bargains get off scott-free" lures.
Remember the eye we made ... as already mentioned, I bet the maker at least can scry on the wearer.

// One the other hand, what better place to sacrifice the amulet and get the ring debugged than here?

I...see

Westeros why. Why do you keep on doing this to us? Every time we think that this is as far as your insanity can go, you have to dig deeper. Is this just some sort of perverse notice-me complex?

Yea. I was actually thinking of arguing for trying to recruit varys, or perhaps just force him into our employment. Buuuut probably not now.

I think I actually agree.
While there are a lot people with ambitions and dark plots around, Westeros just always seems to one up pretty much everyone else.

...I just had to think about this:
Yandere Westeros.
