Literally one of the best characters out of the MULTIPLE HUNDRED named characters in this quest. And with only a small portion of the screen time.

I'm feeling pretty goddamn vindicated for not shutting up about doing this even though the prophecy said we had six months. We would have been all kinds of fucked if she managed to get this thing.

It's not a fight we're going to force if we can avoid it, but NO ONE ELSE is taking the Orb.

So we may not be able to avoid it.

Really? Not from canon as far as I remember.
She revives other people, but she was never thought dead.

She is an excellent diviner with a big focus on keeping herself alive though.
That's where the Mindblank matters.

My point was that I don't want to avoid it.
I don't want to risk even a chance of avoiding it.

I don't even care about killing her, might as well recruit her or let her go her way.
I just want to test ourselves against the possibly greatest mage in Canon ASOIAF and see how that translates to ASWAH.

Personally, I'm somewhat optimistic about Melisandre. She's a fanatic and prone to horribly mistaking her visions, but her ultimate goal is something we're not opposed to. It'll rub a bunch of people the wrong way but I think it's more than worth diplomancing her.

We'll probably still have to social combat her... which is a battle of wills as much as a magic duel.

Hell part of the criteria for meeting her approval is probably straight up defeating her 1v1, knowing our luck.

AND THEN WE GET OUR OWN YANDERE FANCLUB PRESIDENT!

The way I see it, this is a direct attempt from R'hllor to enslave us, using one of his most powerful pieces in Prime Material to retrieve the one artifact that could conceivably do it. That shouldn't be forgotten when we face Melisandre.

As I've said, I'm fine with this ending with us getting her undying fealty or her dying in agony.

It's just the middle-ground I consider objectionable.
 
Well I was curios about using runes to make a weapon that can sever one's connection to a deity. Now seem like the time to ask. @DragonParadox is it possible to create a weapon using Runecraft that can sever all connections between god and mortal?

In fine with diplomancing her as she is a treasure trove of knowledge. I want to make it clear we don't like her god though. I mean I wouldn't mind a non interference pact with her and hopefully her god until the other's are dealt with. But then again fuck her god I hate him the most right after the 7 cause at least he wants to kill the others effectively the 7 want to ban fucking magic a huge asset against the others.
