Guys I'm going to need more details on precisely what rumors you want. To give a few examples
  1. Rumors about Robert
  2. The politics of the small council
  3. What Cersei's been up to
  4. The most recent epidemic in Fleabottom
All these and more will take quite a lot of page space to expand upon and I don't want to just choose myself what to put in and what to leave out since that would be railroading.

I thought I narrowed it down far enough? Any rumors would be appreciated, but we're mainly interested in anything related to Varys, especially if it helps us establish his schedule or general whereabouts on a daily basis, since Scrying him is out of the question.

EDIT: Personally, I would be happy with three or four updates worth of rumor posts. :)

It's not left ambiguous in the books. Varys did indeed counsel Aerys not to open the gates.

Following Rhaegar's defeat during the Battle of the Trident at the end of Robert's Rebellion, Varys counseled Aerys II Targaryen against opening the city gates[22] when Tywin Lannister appeared at King's Landing with an army of twelve thousand men strong.[6] Aerys, however, decided to listen to Grand Maester Pycelle and opened his gates to the Lannister forces, who sacked the city.[22]

Honestly the stuff we probably want to know the most about is the political stench that's been hanging around the place.

Hearing about the latest monster outbreak is neat, but we're not here to hunt, or at the very least we're not here to hunt beasts.

When we're done a lot of shit is going to hit the fan so knowing what trajectories it's gonna start flying in is paramount.

1. Rumors of Robert
2. Rumors of Cersei
3. Small Council Politics
4. Fleabottom Rumors
5. Recent rumblings in the court (any important news that's come through, any petitioners worth noting, etc)
6. Most important of all, the Westerosi reaction to the Imperium and our conquest of Lys and annexation of Myr in the same month
7. Reaction to us supporting the Night's Watch and giving them Valyrian Steel (especially them rebuffing the Iron Throne and us giving them 50,000 IM in exchange)
8. Rumors of the Grand Tourney we're holding and the Valyrian Steel and magic item prizes
8. Rumors of the sept that we're building to outdoing the Great Sept of Baelor, and the 7 Valyrian Steel Greatswords set to guard it.

I love rumors about us most of all.

Varys is the master of whispers he does not have a set schedule, though he is usually present for Small Council sessions.

While I appreciate the enthusiasm I suspect three updates with no action would feel really slow.

Anyway given the level of detail you guys want I'm going to have to do a lot more rolling and set-up than I have right now and that is best left until morning since I don't want to mess up something and make the whole arc falter.

Any preferences for an interlude?

I'd like to hear about what Robert and the Lannisters have been doing. Really, we've been starved for information an inexcusably long time, so I'd be perfectly happy if you gave us two or three updates that consisted of just getting an informed view on what's gone down in Westeros and how they've been reacting to us
