Oh you are suggesting murder than negotiations. Yeah okay I can see that now. Hmm if it comes to that situation then its a wait and see approach for me.
Life is not cheap but not that expensive either for high level PCs, 1-2k IM and 1 level, getting her at 1 lower level, and having to pay a bit of money, is easily worth it, to not give her any opportunity to flee during the war.

This is actually my general preferred way to recruit enemy PC(by which I mean real enemies, not mercenaries and such) it takes away the chance of them using the negotiations to escape or attack us, and it demonstrate that we are the stronger PC, by besting them in battle.

Being merely dead, as opposed to most sincerely dead, is a minor inconvenience on our level, so when up against staunch enemies we would like to recruit, I see no reason not to kill them first, it forces them to hear us out, and having already defeated them in battle, they now know on an instinctive level that we are stronger than them.

So before a battle unless there's a call for negotiations, I at most want to call out for them to surrender, but after the battle, I want to contact their soul and negotiate for their resurrection.

How's this?

[X] Although the final sums will depend on their level of experience and skills, we are offering a sizeable signing bonus along with a generous annual salary to acceptable Bards who wish to enter our service. The initial contract will be for one year.

[X] Set an open bounty
-[X] We will pay 500 IM (or the equivalent) for the remains of each humanoid shapechanger.
--[X] Those seeking to fill this bounty should be advised that we do not expect them to hunt down living shapechangers, but instead wish them to retrieve the remains of such beings who have already been slain. We will be checking to determine the provenance of the remains before the bounties are paid.
So, if there are some werewolf pirates around, why can't an adventuring party kill two birds with one stone?

Think about it for a moment: we put a bounty for bodies, people are far more likely to go and hunt for acceptable targets than murder a random wererat family living nearby for it.

There's an actual rule of law here.

What will you be checking? "Was this person killed before I got their body?"?

Just post a bounty for bodies.

Agreed. If it was illegal... wouldn't we have checked? The Shaitan recommended it in the same breath as posting bounties sending roaming mercenaries out into the world to turn over every rock for shapeshifters.

I think there are some nuisances worth stepping over than peeping in on the local shape-turners. You don't shit where you eat and all that.

@Goldfish

Please set an expedition also, we need plenty of remains and the expedition is merely funding other people's time not spending our own.also surely I've waited long enough

Just for the record, I will cite this very vote as evidence of thread bias based on alignment whenever it is relevant.

Interlude CCCLXIII: Queen's Mask
Queen's Mask

Ninth Day of the Eighth Month 293 AC

Since awakening to a changed world Rhaella Targaryen had to make her peace with many a strange and uncanny truths, by far the most difficult in regards to her children. Just yesterday she had witnessed Daenerys, all of eight years old, terrify a murderous gang leader into confessing planned treachery and then bribe and persuade him into speaking the truth instead. But there were still some things she would not do or allow, some lines she would not cross... and one of those lines was across the threshold of the establishment she was about to enter.

Chataya's brothel was said to be the finest whorehouse in King's Landing, not that she had ever imagined herself seeing the inside of such a place much less to be doing so with a mind to talk to the whores about who they might be spying for and offering them a more lucrative deal. Better me than the children.

A scarlet lantern illuminated the Street of Silk, wide and well trod as the streets of King's Landing went but still crooked and dark to her eyes, used as she was to the cold unwavering light of mage-lanterns that guarded every one of Sorcerer's Deep's major thoroughfares. Shops and houses leaned in above the cobbles street like drunken sailors leaning against each other lest they fall.

Not that Rhaella could dedicate much of her attention to the street. Walking like a man, much less like the sort of swaggering youth who would upend his coin-pouch in a brothel like this, was harder than it looked. Wear a mask not upon your flesh but upon your very soul. The words were as a soft hum in the back of her mind, the counsel of dragonlords long dead, the way of those who thrived in the decadent malevolent courts of the Freehold. What was a brothel of all places to that?

"Remember, if you get into any sort of trouble, use the spell I gave you to vanish and I'll come and pick you up under a glamour,"
Daenerys's voice cut across the soft sighs of memory. While her daughter had agreed to Rhaella's notion of entering the brothel alone, she had insisted on taking every conceivable precaution that sorcery allowed.

Getting past the door watchman was surprisingly easy, act slightly unsteady on her feet, flash some gold dragons and scatter a few into his palm. Inside was... not as bad as she had expected. The closest to that was the mosaic of two women embracing and once one got past the subject matter it was actually quite well made. Truth be told she was not exactly certain what she had expected, rampant debauchery perhaps. Instead all she could really do was note that the decor could have done with less red... but it was still more tasteful than some of the chambers of the Archon's palace in Tyrosh. She momentarily tried to keep back a laugh... then thought the better of it and let the amusement play out across her borrowed features.

When one of the whores asked her what the jest was she just answered truthfully though vaguely, though not mentioning neither the city nor the palace by name.

The girl giggled, then asked: "So what will you be having, or should I say who?"

Rhaella held back a sigh. She could read the distaste behind the practiced sultry gaze, worn down though it may have been. At least there wasn't any fear there like there had always been when Aerys' women looked at him. She would have hated making use of this Chataya if she was the sort to compel her 'girls' to their tasks.

"I'd like to see the madame to beg her opinion before sampling..." The role was surprisingly easy to play once she had gotten into the head of her supposed identity. Then again, there wasn't a great deal to be had in the head of a young man in a place like this.

"She's busy. Gonna be busy for a while, love," came the reply, accompanied by a suggestive smile.

"That's alright, I need to clear my head," Rhaella replied, feigning an embarrassed blush, and surprising herself in that it was completely feigned. One good thing about playing the part of someone who couldn't even meet the gaze of any of the women for long was that it gave her ample time to look around for the sorcery Hort had insisted was there.

There... a warding glyph. For a moment she struggled to recall the meaning of the seal burned into the stone with arcane fire visible only to the second sight. Ish'taz azil... the words older than Valyria slid before her mind's eye, heavy with the weight of the inhuman minds that had conjured them. Protections against devils then, against diabolic enchantment. At least the Madame was no friend of Hell, low as that standard was.

So it was that Rhaella Targaryen, once Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, took a seat in the finest brothel in King's Landing and waited to hire the madame.

OOC: There was actually a chance Robert would walk in, however the dice decided to be kind on Rhaella's nerves.

The irony is killing me. Does she think she can offer any whore a better deal than what Viserys did?

Alinor, High Steward of the World. Sound good? The pay certainly is!

He did try to say something like that. Dany elbowed him.

Dany remains a good daughter. And I am glad the dice were kind. I'd rather not have that sort of weight burning at Rhaella in the middle of an infiltration when she's still not really used to doing that sort of thing. We have complications enough elsewhere. No need to ask for more to be pushed at our mother.

Yes, I am a single issue voter in this matter. Why do you ask? :V
