I thought we were going to make the preliminary steps of the Grand Tournament before we left? Stuff like spreading the knowledge of it across Westeros and Essos so we can gather a shitload of knights and champions for it would require being done a fair bit before the festival happens.
Same here, but DP seems pretty eager to get us to the planes for some reason.
Yeah, I've noticed that. I don't think there's any reason we shouldn't start on the tourney and set up the KL mission before we head off.
If you guys get his attention over this I'm sure it will be resolved. It's very likely a case of it just slipping his mind.

Here is the KL part again, with some more detail added.

-[] Kings Landing
--[] Mia and Anya will cooperate with the companions on their respective missions, but maintain some degree of separation for OpSec.
--[] Try to subvert or infiltrate existing information networks.
--[] Set up at least 3 independent cells that know nothing about each other and all get separate orders.
--[] At least one cell should be based in Fleabottom.
--[] Look for loyalists in the Gold Cloaks to subvert.
--[] Look for multipliers like courtesans, bartenders, money lenders, organised crime, etc.
--[] Potential locations for cells:
---[] Near the Fish Market to observe events in the harbor,
---[] Between the Hook and the Muddy Way, to observe events in the better areas near the keep.
---[] Between Cobblers Square and the Street of Steel, to observe events in the western barracks of the Gold Cloaks and the Great Sept of Baelor.
---[] In Fleabottom, due to the locale offering security from the Gold Cloaks and ample disposable patsies.
---[] Between the Eastern Barracks and the Street of Silk, to observe the garrison and to use the courtesans as information sources.

Like the results of the Qohor mission, we still haven't heard about that. Or the thing with the whales.
There is a lot that DP has to keep track of. It honestly isn't surprising that some things get forgotten about for months at a time.

For example, I'm still waiting on the results of the Toad Statue sacrifice.

But didn't the whale thing get resolved very recently? We finished the action and everything.

Christ, the Toad Statue. We need to ask him to just tell us about the damn thing, because it's clearly never going to get an update.
But didn't the whale thing get resolved very recently? We finished the action and everything.
I believe Tarrangar wanted to know about the details of it, and DP told them to remind him about it later on.

Next part:

-[] Planar Trade
--[] Obtain Planar Currency:
---[] Take 6.5 million IM of Gold from your reserve.
---[] Buy trade goods for part of that sum on Planetos.
---[] Sell the trade goods and the gold in Amun Kelisk to obtain planar currency, half of it Silk Notes and the other half Glass Scepters.
--[] Regular buying:
---[] Buy crafting materials for 500,000 Imperial Marks in the Opaline Vault.
---[] Buy two more sets of Titan Tools there.
---[] Pick up the last commission and commission another 4 Mindblank items.
---[] Look for some Elysian Bronze and Griffons.
--[] Land Buying:
---[] Speak with the appropriate office or the palace in Amun Kelisk to learn what is necessary to buy land in the city for a Planar Terminus and at what price it could be obtained.

Eh, easily fixed. It's just a matter of poking him when he seems free, and he'll come up with the mechanics. But see my point? There's just a lot to keep track of. DP doesn't deliberately ignore people or bulldoze through actions, it just slips his mind sometimes on what we wanted to do and in what order.

Yep. We can try to get this done tomorrow if someone remembers to ask DP.

@Azel, would you mind adding us buying enough Elysian Bronze to forge a set of Reinforced Segmented Elysian Bronze Fullplate?

Also, is this a good time to try to get Hippogriffs, or should we wait for next turn?

[X] Festival Planning
-[X] To facilitate participation, anyone who intends to compete in one or more of the tournament competitions, and who books passage on a ship flying the flag of Sorcerer's Deep or one of its vassal states, will have the cost of their passage refunded at the conclusion of the festival.
-[X] Security will of course be heightened during the preparations leading up to the event and all throughout the festival. Inquisition agents will work overtime, as needed, with aid from Dawn Fruit and Keep Watch spells. Tyene, Dany, Rina, and Malarys, will all take turns using Brain Spider, when they are available, in order to scan the minds of tournament participants and anyone else deemed suspicious. Detect Thoughts will also be used, when available, with other magics being used to detect compulsions, hostile Divination, and other enemy interference.
--[X] The House of Mirrors Divination corps will be on constant look out for trouble, making certain to check for all reasonably predictable issues.
--[X] All Lesser and Greater False Ravens not currently assigned elsewhere will maintain discrete surveillance on visitors. Greater False Ravens will do most of their work under cover of their Invisibility SLA.

--[X] Nitty Gritty Details:
---[X] 150 Tonnes of steel will be used to produce extremely complex and highly detailed/faceted colored figurines as described here and here.
---[X] 100,000 Imperial Marks used as a discretionary budget by the organizers to fund the following:
---[X] Alms for the poor. The Westerosi ideal.
---[X] Feasts and balls for the nobility. No gauche or tasteless theming. Essosi are very particular about appearances, so try to keep that in mind, but if there's any central theme, it will be decidedly "Imperial". Rhaella's book will be these people's gospel.
---[X] Honoring the Legion. Make sure their field rations are upgraded to full-on catering following grand speeches or momentous announcements this month.

--[X] The Mirror Vision network will be used for a variety of purposes this month, including:
---[X] Glyra and her Dawnkin Gremlins will spread across the Imperium with the resources to do something creative for the children, such as telling riddles, organizing games and rewarding good deeds. Try to work in a contest of some sort. Winners receive Companion and King metal figurines?
--[X] Ask Xor to perform the play about the heroic efforts of the Legion and the King to rescue Tyrosh from the daemons, taking over the city from those horribly wicked magisters with the help of those very nice and upstanding magisters who rejoiced at our coming.
---[X] During free moments throughout the month, when not holding court functions, not giving grand sweeping speeches or making momentous announcements, he will interview various people throughout the Imperium, asking carefully prepared questions which either serve an educational purpose, or merely pure and simple propaganda. Teana would lean towards the former, Waymar the latter, as an example. Include a discussion with someone like up-and-coming business owners in SD or Tyrosh who have really taken advantage of the greatest changes that have occurred these last several months. Or a former Slave who has managed to work his way up to an Officer, for surely there is at least one or two by now. Make sure they are well-coached beforehand. The setting should be equally tasteful and suited to the interviewee.
---[X] Announce the Dates of Tournament events throughout the month in between other things taking up your time, and where more information can be acquired (details on prizes, what the events involve, where they are held).
---[X] Make a series of speeches spaced throughout the month, about:
--[X] 1) The Network of roads, bridges and canals, both completed and planned. The sweeping changes these infrastructural improvements will bring, the guard posts that will secure them and all who travel through the land, and the messengers who dutifully connect the people to each other from far and wide.
--[X] 2) The Legion and their due diligence upon the field of war, the unfortunate reality that the chaos of the age has required their constant vigilance and presence across the realm, that they simply have no time for a public parade of any sort, but their struggle is not forgotten (nor, implicitly, the people they are being employed against).
--[X] 3) The Annexation of Myr and the Conquest of Lys, the events preceding and unfolding at present, and what will be done from there with their acquisition.

-[X] Invitations and Advertising:
--[X] Spread word of the tournament through all the means available to us. For the Westerosi audience, make sure to emphasize the construction of the new Grand Sept being constructed in Sorcerer's Deep and the need for worthy candidates to make up the soon to be formed Sept Guard.
---[X] Arrange for town criers and gossip mongers to spread news of the tournament all throughout Westeros and Western Essos.
---[X] Send Three-Eyed Ravens to Westeros and to deliver broadsheets announcing the tourney and festival at taverns, population centers larger than a hamlet, and to keeps of minor knights, stating the prizes to be won.
---[X] Every ship departing to Westeros will carry the same message. The captains and crew will be paid a bonus to spread news of the festival and tournament to every port of call they visit.
--[X] Invite your Westerosi allies (Brune, Velaryon, Doran, Bronze Yon) by brazier. Tell them that you fully understand if they can't attend in person due to the short notice and political concerns, but that you will gladly receive them or whomever they want to send, such as heirs and loyal knights.
--[X] Tell Lord Commander Mormont about the event and offer him to Teleport some recruiters to SD so that he might get a few men out of this.
--[X] Get a selection of good fighters with the appropriate skill set for each event from the 1st Legion with General Torchwood making the suggestions. Inform the soldiers that it might be possible that not all of them will be able to compete, as you do not want to appear to stack the deck. At most 25% of the attendees of each event can be Legionaries.
-[X] Tourney:

--[X] Include a joust, a melee, archery and a spellcasting event.
---[X] The joust and archery events will be handled in the traditional manner.
----[X] There will be no melee free-for-all. Instead fighters will be paired against one another in single elimination bracket matches that will be broadcast via MirrorVision each day of the festival. Between matches, the fighters will be healed of injuries so that each round is between two fresh combatants. The final day of the festival will see the last round of matches between eight semi-finalists.
-----[X] Mage duels will be handled similarly to the melee event, though the final day of the festival will only pit the two finalists against one another, due to the limited magic available to low level spellcasters.

-----[X] A team battle competition will also be held during this time, with each team composed of up to four individuals, though only one member of the team can be Large-sized for the sake of fairness. Like the melee fighting and mage duels, this competition will be handled through single elimination bracket matches. Each member of the winning team will be able to select a prize equal to the top prize awarded in either the joust, archery, melee, or mage duel events. Prize money will be awarded immediately, but equipment will need to be enchanted once it is selected, a process which will take no longer than one month.

  • [X] Plan "Shut up and get in my bottle!"
-[X] Dany uses the Blackened Rod to cast a Daylight spell as a Swift Action in order to render the Shadow Demon powerless. (assuming she prepared a Daylight spell for the occasion; if not, she just Dreamcasts it).
-[X] Viserys casts a Transdimensional Blood Wished Smoky Confinement spell to capture the Shadow Demon (assuming he used Ancestral Awakening to learn Transdimensional Spell before they summoned the Shadow Demon; if not, he uses it, then proceeds as planned).
-[X] Allow Maelor to chat with his father using Lya's spirit drum, if he wishes. Otherwise, to the Larder with him.
    [X] Planar Trade
-[X] Attempt to arrange a meeting with the Shaitan Vizier in order to learn of the latest news of the war, vital missions that may need to be undertaken in the future, and what intel, if any, was garnered from the Shaitan we freed from the Sultan's Prison Tower.
    -[X] Obtain Planar Currency:
--[X] Take 6.5 million IM of Gold from your reserve.
--[X] Buy trade goods for part of that sum on Planetos.
--[X] Sell the trade goods and the gold in Amun Kelisk to obtain planar currency, half of it Silk Notes and the other half Glass Scepters.
    -[X] Regular buying:
--[X] Buy crafting materials for 500,000 Imperial Marks in the Opaline Vault.
--[X] Buy two more sets of Titan Tools there.
--[X] Pick up the last commission and commission another 4 Mindblank items.
--[X] Look for some Elysian Bronze, Griffons, and Hippogriffs.
    -[X] Land Buying:
--[X] Speak with the appropriate office or the palace in Amun Kelisk to learn what is necessary to buy land in the city for a Planar Terminus and at what price it could be obtained.
At most 25% of the attendees of each event can be Legionaries.-[X] Tourney:
    --[X] The prizes will be:
    ---[X] Joust:
----[X] 1st Prize: 5,000 Imperial Marks, Valyrian Steel weapon of choice, Valyrian Steel armor of choice, +1 horse barding of choice, +1 Shield of choice, Amulet of Tears, Gloves of Heroes Strength (+2 Strength), Healing Belt (+2 Constitution), Ring of Protection from Evil. Include an option to receive a sizeable land grant in the former Disputed Lands if the winner is willing to swear themselves to us to serve as a loyal vassal.

----[X] 3rd Prize: 1,500 Imperial Marks, Valyrian Steel weapon of choice, +1 armor of choice.

@Goldfish, slight amendment. We're looking for Hippogriffs more than we're looking for Griffins. That said, we are also looking for Griffins, so they should stay in the plan.

@Goldfish @Azel, make sure to include Tyene here so she can weed out any bad eggs that might potentially slip by Waymar and Ser Richard.

Also, @Azel, the prizes for sorcery are basically a part of their graduation kit, which makes it a bit underwhelming (unless the winner isn't from the Scholarum). What about a scroll of any spell they request -- within reason, nothing we'd ban -- up to the sixth circle?

@Goldfish, I'm a bit unsure about the prizes for the Sorcery event. Does that work out?

How about the winner of the Magic event getting a full set of standardized Sorcerer's Deep mage gear appropriate to their class? It's funny, the value of any given set is really close to what you suggested as a prize for the winner if the Alchemical stuff isn't counted. If the winner is already scheduled to get the gear this month, they could instead receive a monetary prize of equal value. For second place, a slightly less comprehensive set of gear would still be nice, with the same caveat of the first place prize, if they were already scheduled to receive the gear this month.

... I think this one works fine. Usually Westerosi tourneys only offer cash prizes, but if we hand out VS blades, I felt it appropriate to also offer gear for the other events.

Could you give me a suggestion for the abbreviated lists?

Money is always good, nobody ever really complains about liquid cash. And nobody's going to say no to great gear, either. That said, what do you think about a scroll of the winning mage's choice up to the Sixth Circle in addition to that? Assuming or course that the mages are kept in line with the spell they ask for. I feel like this would get the mages -- especially the prepared casters -- to get super competitive and really enthusiastic about the Grand Tournament.

----[] Sorcery: 1st Prize is a selection of Standard SD Caster Equipment worth 3,000 IM and 2,500 IM cash, 2nd Prize is a selection of said gear worth 1,500 IM and 1,000 IM in cash

That fine for you? That spares us working out the details.
Ah, but details are my idea of fun. Working out something now. Gimme a few minutes.

An idea for prizes is offers of land grants in the ex-Disputed Lands. A large point of this is to recruit a shitload of knights from Westeros, and letting everyone know we're giving out land and castles like the US government during the prarie race will get a lot of takers that might not be sold for VS gear and Imperial marks, as well as making us look generous and powerful.

Ah, but details are my idea of fun. Working out something now. Gimme a few minutes.
Knock yourself out if you have fun fiddling with this. ;)

Also, please add this under Invitations, as I've forgotten it:

No better way to showcase the Legion then by having one of our heavy cavalry soldiers give some Westerosi knights a taste of SD. And by taste of SD, I mean a taste of the ground.
