I do believe the issue is that we might not want to so strongly hint that Viserys was acting in Myr, which something like this almost certainly would. Celebrity in particular is very distinct.
Celerity is just acting far faster than normal. It's impressive to someone who knows what they're looking at, but not all that flashy. Besides, one of the selling points of our kingdom is the powerful mages. It wouldn't be unusual at all for the envoy we're posing as to have magic.

To the untrained eye, Celerity is completely unnoticeable. It'll just look like Viserys cast two spells, if those present can even pick up on that info.

The reason I'm going for statue over turtle is that our turtling ways have likely spread far and wide by now.

Hm. Well, it would probably not be difficult to bluff that some small random item on us was a single-use magic item while casting, thus implying not that Viserys was there but rather that he equips all his random envoys with the ability to petrify anyone who threatens or angers them.

[X] Let the assassin run, act the part of the shocked envoy who had a brush with death. Track and capture the assassin later when you are not in at risk of compromising your plans.

he's just chosen a genre with some elements I find grating.
It's mostly, bit not entirely that. His other biggest series is Codex Alera, and the writing style is very different. Butcher has always been honest about liking beautiful ladies in his fiction though. It's a stylistic choice and a character driven one, but they are choices he made.
I think it's mostly Harry having a massive problem with his hormones. And repression.

I would have appreciated the non-existence of Bob's insane libido though.

Bob's personality shifts slightly later in the series in a way that strongly implies the former sort of caused the latter. He's shifts a bit to reflect the current owner of his skull.

Um...mate? He's actively watching porn when Harry breaks into Butters' place in Cold Days. That didn't change.
and his personality still has some leftovers from previous owners as well, or in some cases he doesn't because he actively excised them. Also Butters is very much a hetero dude with a giant pc set up, so a certain fondness for the ... adult pictures is entirely reasonable. It's not a complete personality rewrite, obviously, but the differences are there. Look at how much more fond Butters!Bob is of food for instance.

We don't know the assassin didn't see through Viserys' Glamer. It may be overly paranoid on my part, but I would rather not allow a member of an order of assassins to run off with a blade now coated in Viserys' blood.

Given the references to 'seducing Grecian shepherdesses' in at least one of the pre-Changes books...I am doubtful of this.

By that point Butters had been Bob's owner for a relatively short time, while Harry had him for decades. The change in personalities could simply require the passage of more time to become pronounced.

Or Butters is secretly way kinkier than he seems...

I think it might be world building added later in the series, to be fair, but (I would find the relevant quote, but I don't have a hard copy of Cold Days or maybe Ghost Story available atm, apologies) I'm actually pretty sure Bob mentions in in the text as a thing that happens.

I see a lot of people going back and forth here over what to do with magic and stuff. When we have a Pseudo-Dragon familiar with Mindsight, good AC, an AB of +20 and sleep poison. Just send Varys after him. She doesn't get to do enough these days.

Edit: if we really want to, Share Spells a nasty touch-spell to sting him with.

Wasn't the issue that Bob's personality works on expectation? So if someone knows Bob as he was under the previous owner of the skull, then his personality will be the same when they own it because that's what they'll expect.

If someone who'd never met Bob before got the skull, they would cause a far larger change.
