I'm currently going through another round of editing the front page, this time for making sure items are accounted for (starting with books). That ring just caught my eye, so I wanted to make sure.

"My lady... we have visitors," the voice was soft, tentative, for the messenger clearly knew it was unwelcome.
For a brief moment Lya worried that she had not banished the stink of brimstone from her robes. The last thing she wanted to do was spark almost-accurate rumors about summoning demons. The young sorceress may not have been the most skillful in reading the moods of men or moving their hearts, but even she knew that 'we are just calling to fiends to offer them up in bloody sacrifice' was unlikely to quiet anyone's worries. Truth be told even she was concerned that something might slip the Snare by some mischance to further trouble an already darkened world.
With a start she realized the servant had been quietly waiting for her to answer rather than speaking up as those more used to her manner might have. Perhaps there is some sense to having many 'households' worth of servants and attendants living under the same roof, Lya admitted to herself. "Yes?" she prompted the still uncertain servant.
"The visitor is from Mantarys, one of the holy ones..." Now why in the name of the Eight Guiding Principles would he think she would dislike speaking with Archons? she wondered.
"Perhaps someone had heard you complaining about the absurdity of Heaven and Hell, of good and evil that can be measured in the scale of magic not reason and taken it the wrong way," Aebys' voice was a soft chime in her thoughts. "You should go speak with this herald in the sight of many to prove you do not hold his kind any ill will."
Lya held back a sigh, seeing the point to her familiar's words. Though she was no longer as ill at ease in public as she had once been, a foundling among lords and princes, she still found no pleasure in the games of courtiers. Still, if nothing else, one of the spirits of Mantarys was likely to keep to the actual purpose of its coming.

The messenger towered above all others in the hall, a giant clad in golden plate too heavy for any mortal to carry, a shield-bearer in the service of Heaven, yet Lya saw only a familiar face, one of the spirits that had woken besides Yrael and then fought in the liberation of the Shadow Tower. She greeted him as an old friend before asking for news from the east.
"My lady, as with every battle worth fighting, there is news good and ill. We have recovered much gold and silver as well as treasures of Valyrian artistry from the wreck of Lyceos, but some among our brethren were struck down by maddened flame spirits, whether born of the twisting of the elements or the dead and accursed we know not."
Valyrian marbles with sapphire eyes depicting the work of scribes (2,000 Gold)
A set of two ancient Gold-Plated Chariots with scrollwork of unknown origin, magically translated as 'blessings and wards of the Storm Father' (5,560 Gold)
A full collection of ancient silverware and glasswork (750 Gold)
An Ancient Silver-Plated Cyvasse board large enough to play with life-sized pieces (4,700 Gold)
400 lbs of Valyrian Steel
3 Ceremonial Hunting Knives with demon-bone hilts, the pommels depicting whatever demon was slain in their making
Looking down at the dagger whose pommel was adorned with the twisted visage of a Vrock, Lya felt a shiver run down her spin, not from the hideousness of it nor yet from any lingering curse, for she was certain no such curse clung to it, but because she could so easily understand and sympathize with the artisan who had chosen to use such materials for his work and the noble who commissioned the work. After all, had she not summoned and bound four of the carrion fiends for like purpose? How far was she walking in the footsteps of the Freehold?
She shook off the thought with determination and met the eyes of the messenger and saw there a deep quiet sadness. "Do you need some help calling back those who are lost?" In that Lya knew herself different from the scions of Valyria, not having dealings with angels, but simply offering kindness for where it was needed.
OOC: Again pretty short, but you guys did ask about the Valyrian follow-up expedition and Lya's summoning. Putting them together gives a view of Lya's perspective on ruling and morality.
They are your vassals not allies so any recompense you might wish to give them is wholly up to you guys. You could just choose not to give them anything.
