Charles is actually in the New World, building his own Empire with Blackjack and Hookers until he gets bored... or until his supporters bring him back home.

and he's done a damn good job. Like he already took over the Caribbean, and Central America is currently being conquered by him, instead of Cortes.

Cortes is still there of course, but he's become a side character in his greatest feat.

And Charles is absolutely stomping... but being far far less genocidal than his other conquistadors.

Mostly because he's all for creating and building something, rather then leaving a mound of corpses in his wake.

When he comes back to Europe.

As for Anna, she's fine...

Isabella has unfortunately had to suffer the torture of late medieval and Renaissance Era medicine. Her doctors are literally killing her.

Good move for defusing the situation with Holy Rome where they hate us because there peasants love us and fear us usurping there place as the legacy of Rome, but sickly characters are a pain to know and then lose, and then we'd be right back here in 5 or so turns. Vlad's cool, but pass.

Could be good to balance out Luciano's lack of administration experience, but otherwise there isn't much benefit, and Henry does take a turn for the stupid and warmongerish as he grows older. He'd definitely end up dragging us into his wars with France or Austria later on.

We frankly don't have the army for an invasion now and we just finished getting to peace. Also, never make allies with someone who hates you and merely needs you to badly to not ally with in these circumstances.

On one hand this brings us a lot of wealth and goes a way to treat some of the wounds we dealt ottoman, allowing his people to feel safe. The only problem I'm seeing is our Navy has sworn to end piracy, and if he has pirates sail in support of his fleets, I doubt any treaty Luciano signs, even a marriage one, will keep them at bay.

If Vlad tries to invade us I want to do the Great forest to him but leave him alive and watch as we erase his entire culture and people so We can steal his title as the Impaler

This is definitely my first choice, because all the benefits that come with it are great, but I'd be fine with Mary or Anna.

I also very much do not want to marry Beyhan because I'd like to kick the Ottomans while they're down once we've sorted out enough of our other problems to make that viable.

Right. I need to play to character, and 10s of millions of florins will cover further modernization. Also, there are pirates in other places in the world that are logistically unsound to send our fleets to without the access Suleiman offers. If our fleet is really to hunt pirates wherever there found, Beyhan is the right choice.

I do not want to get ostracized from the rest of Christendom or become widely unpopular at home for marrying the sister of a Heathen and the greatest threat towards Europe. We should not be content with relying on the Sultan's good will for trade, we should conquer Constantinople for ourselves. The Ottomans are an expansion target, not friends.

A moment to remind you all that we smashed the Ottoman Navy last war. We did not outright destroy it, but we battered it in an incredible display of badassery, and our Sea Lord is currently one of the greatest admirals in Europe.

We rule the Med and have been happily fucking every pirate and foreign power that are around and securing good trade for our merchants.

And right now, one of the main goals of this current government is economic growth. so remember that.

We aren't going to be ostracized by all of Christendom, at minimum the British will still like us. Austria and Spain dislike us to begin with for taking away there prize and threatening there political influence. The king of france knows better at this point.

Our people stuck by us when we were at odds with the literal pope. As long as we marry her according to Christen traditions it'll be fine.

We don't have a good army. We would struggle greatly to hold land and war is terrible for our goals of economic growth. We literally went through a lot of trouble to end the last war with the ottomans for this reason. Conquest is for chumps like Henry. We need only our beautiful gem of the Mediterranean, Italy.

Speaking of the Pope... It's less that the Pope is trying to rally people against us, and more he wants consessions and Rome.

But we own rome now, and our situation will eventually improve... Hopefully. I mean, really the pope can't be that stupid... right?

Not saying it wouldn't be, just saying it's not a prize we have the means to grasp at this time. We all decided to move away from war with the ottomans less than 5 years ago. I'm here for a prosperous Italy, not to conquer North Africa and form a new Roman empire.

Didn't we try to do the Lateran Treaty 400 years ahead of schedule in the previous quest?

Anyways, it looks like we can only vote one option, right? I honestly would be happy any of the choices but a Habsburg, though if she wasn't sickly she would easily be the most attractive option to get the HRE off our back.
