We generally construct our own PrCs around here for characters of any real level of relevance. Which would include named champions in our armies.

At this point, I want a prisoner to simply research the condition and how to cure it. Learning if it's controllable is an outgrowth of that research. If it becomes controllable, given that Viserys regularly turns himself into a dragon-man and/or dragon, it would make sense he would go from "how does this magical disease work and how do I cure it" to "Now that it's controllable and curable, I can offer it to my troops..."

I don't see the need to have were-xs on our Legions, if we want to break a line we have dragon riders or our heavy infantry.

My vote is for three burning bears asses.

I still want to go hunting through the planes for any Martial Adapts be they of Path of War or Tome of Battle. Which is funny because normaly I am all for the mage master race and here I am seeing if we can get some blood frothing berserkers and not kung fu warriors with maybe some Monks of punching as well.

[X] Visery assumes HHD form, then casts Shield, Haste, Searing & Agonizing Mass Fire Shield, and Mirror Image. Dany casts Sign, Righteous Wrath of the Faithful, uses Greater Magic Fang on Viserys, and uses her Holy Aura SLA.
-[X] Demand the werebears leave the cave, implying they are too cowardly to face the consequences of their actions.

The Zen art of being the most doucebag member of a doucebag raider culture? Best of both!

We have a need for a shock troop third line in our legions that we haven't really figured out yet. The minotaurs are nasty, ripping through formations of "normal" soldiers, who are level 3 warriors, like tissue paper and will still mulch "elite" level 5 warriors as they're generally equipped in Westeros. The issue is we have enough minotaurs right now for...about 1/3 of a single legion (assuming 50 minotaurs for a single legion), when we are planning on several legions to be produced.

There have been a few designs thrown around, but even 200 humans in these builds fail to match 50 minotaurs in effectiveness (not to mention the morale damage from how intimidating the minotaurs are). So there are reasons we're seeing value in the potential of boosting a smaller number of volunteers in this way.

[X] TotallyNotEvil

This thread's Draconic hoarding instinct absolutely will not be stopped.
Gold- "loot"
Items- "loot."
Corpses-"Loot."
Buildings- "Loot!"
People- "LOOT!!!"

I'm not complaining, mind.

@Wheel of time The fastest and easiest way to get multiple Monk-type combatants to SD would be to convince a group of Githerzai to migrate from one of their monasteries. They're not nearly as big a collective of douchebags as the Githyanki.

We could entice them with knowledge of Mindflayers to fight.

No the Zen art of being the most terrifying bloody bastard around silly. Now this is how you make a Zen art of fuck you.
Nah. Kungfu monk all the way. Where else would you find a 2d10 base damage for Medium size weapon and character. Combine that with Goliath, Monkeygrip, Dolorous blow, Versatile (allows you to use monk's fist base damage instead of weapon if you are high enough level so 2d10 for medium), Keen = 6d8(Huge weapon category). Make it of Adamantine, Celestial Metal, or Elemental attuned metals. There are some great weapons in Oriental Adventures.

Greater Mighty Wallop (1-5 weapon size increase dependent on caster level as an enchant so that takes your damage to 12d8 per blow). Flurry of Blows and you can add other feats and enchantments as you like. Boom you can now one shot Greater Wyrms.

I'm in love with the idea of SD becoming the most cosmopolitan city on the entire plane. To the point where it's a special blend of East, West and Extraplanar cultures. :D

So you are saying we could have Kung Fu Masters beat the illithids to death and teach others how to do so:o:) As for my Tome of Battle and Path of War
Martial Disciplines obsession. It give any martial class a chance to pull off some awesome stuff and if you know the in's and outs of the normal spellcasting system Martial Maneuvers are easy to figure out. Also lots of fun homebrew Maneuvers to pick from and fine tune as well as just making new ones up whole sale. Then there is the fact that you can pretty much make any kind of warrior you want with them with the huge list giving many options to chose from. Though Monks are still awesome.

It is becoming that way isn't? We need to have Xor sing a Plantos version of this then

As for the East some kind of Journey to the West from YI TI is in order.

What? Recitation is +2 Atk and Saves.

Oops. Was thinking it was AC and saving throws.

Just went back and checked. Recitation is +2 Luck to AC, Saving Throws, and Attack Rolls, or +3 if those affected worship the same deity as the caster.

So, Dany and Viserys are losing out on +3 to AC, saves, and attacks, while everyone else is losing the +2.

I really want to put it back into the Persistomancy rotation.

You know I want to grab a Wildling Berserker on our trip North beyond the Wall. Its tradition at this point to grab true companions on our adventures. Having a loyal savage and brutal murderous attack dog to help out Sir Richard in the melee department would not be half bad and having our sworn knight have to deal with a rampaging kool-aid man murder blender of Rip and Tear would be a funny and interesting character dynamic. Bonus points if they have a Warp Spasm or some kind of Rage transformation ability.

I feel we're being blinded by the potential loot. How exactly are we going to loot a live werebear with no BP combo nor Teleport while stuck in the middle of nowhere?

.. O hope DP doesen't blow a gasket the day we try to loot a White Walker...

Edit: SS Ser Richard departing! Set sails you landlubbers! Waifu spotted on the horizon!!!

[X] "The Champion of the old gods calls to you, bear men! If there is enough of men left in you to answer, come out and face me!"

Im willing to try the diplomatic approach, if they can be tamed and put to use i say lets do that.
... Beasts all over the north, you'll be one of them, sooner or later.

Okay you say that... but looting a white walker would have tangible benefits. Unearthly horror beyond the ken of mortal men? Yes. Are we mortal men? No. And with the right climate control spells, they'd be a valuable object of study.

Know thy enemy and all. :p

Edit: Don't actually bring an Other south of the Wall, by the way. I'm pretty sure there's a good reason never to do that.

But think of the Template's:cry:
But being serious we could set Amon up with a lab to study them for weakness's. Keeping in mind though bringing a Other inside the Wall might not be the best idea we could set him up with a remote and heavily warded and fortified area to experiment on them to test thier limits.

We should not bring them into or past the other side of the Wall, but setting up a fortified lab on like, the summit of the Fist of the First Men might be viable. Heavily ward it, put some badass obsidian constructs on guard duty, then poke it for weaknesses or maybe bait in Other rescuers for burnination with it.

Don't we have anything better than calling them out?

Wildlings don't really have a strong honor-culture and fighting the flying dragon out in the open is just remarkably stupid, so I really doubt they'll go for it.

[X] Turn into LHD, activate Greater Blink, Mirror Image, Haste, Freezing Glance and Mass Fireshield
-[X] Go into the cave where the Wayfinder shows the bears to be

[X] Artemis1992

I'm gonna say that in theory Artemis1992 is pretty accurate. Even if I was super honorable I would not be super stupid, and agreeing to fisticuffs, even with a numbers advantage, against a scary dragon man, does not sound like something that is a good idea. Better to catch them flatfooted.

Eh, they might agree to fisticuffs.
They could even win, Werebear is a big boost.

What would be idiotic is coming out to fight the flying, firebreathing monster when you are pure melee and can't even kill a guy on a tree.
