"Always Lawful Good"?

But eh. If this is indeed 'strict upgrade, except animal urges' I'd be fine with capturing one for infection purposes (should we find volunteers, which will be harder than you think), though even that leaves us open to major problems. Say, if the werebear escapes and we have to deal with a hostile epidemic. Honestly I think there are still better targets for the hoard, but given the pattern of this thread....

[X] Visery assumes HHD form, then casts Shield, Haste, Searing & Agonizing Mass Fire Shield, and Mirror Image. Dany casts Sign, Righteous Wrath of the Faithful, uses Greater Magic Fang on Viserys, and uses her Holy Aura SLA.
-[X] Demand the werebears leave the cave, implying they are too cowardly to face the consequences of their actions.

Yeah. When a bear ass is just sitting there waiting to be grabbed, you don't complain about the pattern of the fur.

We only need to keep one alive long enough to infect a casts of volunteers at SD.

Don't forget to leave at least one alive.

We need them to infect people loyal to us. Lycanthropy can be controlled.

And werebears are stupid strong. Gain a bonus 6HD, which is great for people who are capped at 5, +16 STR, +2 DEX, +8 CON,
Just need to find a way to go around those pesky Always Chaotic Evil alignment, if the werebear have it.

Seriously guys, let's be smart:
[X] Visery assumes HHD form, then casts Shield, Haste, Searing & Agonizing Mass FireShield, and Mirror Image and Freezing Glance. Dany casts Sign, Righteous Wrath of the Faithful, uses Greater Magic Fang on Viserys, and uses her Holy Aura SLA.
-[X] Demand the werebears leave the cave, implying they are too cowardly to face the consequences of their actions.

-[X] Try to keep them alive, use Imperious Glare to cower them.

Even if alignment was fixed, the SRD says "always lawful good".

And alignment is usually anything but fixed for things that aren't outsiders.

Seems like a wasted spell slot, but nothing worth splitting the vote over.

Use cloudkill. The poison settles so the elevation will help kill everything in the caves. Even werebears need to breathe. If we need fire we can always ignite cloudkill for even more damage.

It does mean it's one of the best lycanthropy forms out there on the alignment/super bestial instincts area.

Bears aren't savage/craven killers like, say, wolfs or rats, or a super predator like a tiger.

People, werebears make our Minotaurs look positively puny.

Get a knight, aka Fighter 4, infect him for a 30-32 STR, 10 HD, mass produceable killing machine.

On consideration, I'm not sure that these are SRD werebears. "Always" isn't always, but it does signify a lean towards that alignment, which isn't in evidence here.

But whatever. The hoarding instinct is going to bite us hard eventually.

It's reasonable to assume the alignment isn't set to LG on Planetos. Everything is shittier here , after all.

It might be, from a point of view, they are helping people. And just left she told to.

We don't have Cloudkill.

And we don't want to kill them. Werebear-ism means mass producible super-soldiers.

They are fucking CHAOTIC Evil. The Operative words being Chaotic and Evil. Chaotic Evil kill themselves half the time. Or in layman's terms they are Dr' Evil's brain damaged more incompetent twin.

They were born in the Stupid dimension and hit every tree in the stupid forest on the way to the mortal plane. We will constantly be keeping and eye on the idiots so they don't betray us or eat our people.

They could be Lawful Good...for free folk. :V

More seriously, it would be a little OOC for Viserys to jump right to "I should infect people!" but studying the condition as an example of such things (we might run into more sypathetic people infected in the future who we'd prefer to cure rather than kill, and a controllable version arising out of that makes more sense IC.

That's not how DP writes alignments.

@TotallyNotEvil @Duesal @Diomedon If you want strong shock troops it would be cheaper and safer, not to mention faster to create a giant legion of enchanted greathammers, full plate, and a melee class such as Monk, Warrior etc. If you want Shapeshifting weretroopers use Primal Spirit Warriors instead. It is safer and more controllable to summon(Vision Quest ala Native Amerindian tribes) and bond with a spirit animal.

Nothing is worth the possibility of the children of our citizens being eaten by our crazy weretroopers

There all better and seeing how Dragon Paradox made the thread love of loot canon to the Quest don't be so sure Viserys is not thinking of doing this right now if only for curiosity's sake.

Most likely, alignment either remain unchanged, or shifts to match the animal's natural temperament. Probably comes with a lot of new instincts, too.

If so, we'll need to find some disciplined volunteers.
