You know, it would be hysterically funny if we botched the teleport roll.

Adventurers in Oldtown: *Hero of our own storie intensifies*.

*pop*

AiO: Its the dread sorcerer Viserys! He has finally decided to so battle with us and.... is that a tavern?

V: ...Just passing through.... *pop*

"We must rescue that tavern! Think of the boozed up patrons within!"

Viserys: "That was a close one... they wanted my mead!"

I just find it hilarious that we--head of House Targaryen--have a better relationship with Renly and Stannis than Robert does in spite of being their enemy.:rofl::rofl:

Viserys: huh? Oh, no; I'm uh... Tiserys! Yes, Tiserys. Uh, keep up the good work.

*pop*

Possibly: That one time Viserys was flabbergasted.
Unlikely.

Hmm, I think the nature of the quest - where we get to write in reactions and the MC having fully adopted "evaluate; react!" Means that flabbergasted is not really a thing that happens. Maybe in the updates where the players just have no idea what's happening. But those make us confused and salty .

To be fair, we try to have a good relationship with everyone who is not an asshole. Even insufferable people like Stannis and his stick deserve friendship.

And this clearly is something that goes against the resident devil's super-villain idea. Even if we do it in part of self interest, we still care about these people.

I care about canon characters who have even a shred of decency within them.

Also, @BeepSmile, your sense of humor is even flatter than a soda.

One of these days I'd love to have an interlude of the Westerosi adventurers where they sit around a fire talking about the big scary dragonlord in the Stepstones. That is a chapter I would pay dearly to read.

Not the real Renly. At least not yet.

But it is kinda funny when you think about it.

I'm trying to think what will happen if Stannis and Fenly say good things of Viserys to Robert at the small council.

We really should know if harvesting the dogai would bleed it to feed weirwood. Also, get Renplacement back in Tarth before we do anything.

Can you add the latter at least @Goldfish?

Robert explodes and rants and names them traitors, is held back by Jon Arryn from doing anything irreversible, and more and more Renly and Stannis' resentment for Robert grows as they wistfully think on what a better ruler we happen to be. ;)

The diplomancing of the Baratheons has been in the making for months, and we're finally beginning to see the fruits of our labors. I'm very much looking forward to a rumor post where we learn of Robert coming into conflict with his brothers.

Yeah, for the festival we need to invite all our friends. The Sealord, Uthero, this girl we revived, the Archons, Azema (she will come anyway), the Baratheons minus King Fatass, and even Relath and Breath Taker. Maybe, MAYBE, we can invite Zherys and his gang too.

Naw, they'd just not say anything bad and pass it off as Stannis being himself, and Renly as being chivalrous or something.

Dorne has just as much reason to feel resentment towards us as most any family who lost much in the rebellion does. They had a shot at having influence in Court on par with the days of Daeron II (granted those days were not so bright and sunny for Dorne either, so I can't imagine why they'd bother).

We came in and basically blatantly bribe them to shut down their ambitions, ones which costed them their sister and uncle (and our niece and nephew by her) through no fault of their own.

Yeah, I think it's understandable how they'd want to see us make good on our promises first.

Which is dumbbbbb of him. But eh.
No argument here. Fortunately for us, Oberyn more or less ignores his brother's will whenever it suits him, and right after we're done with Renly he's due to come to SD so we can help him prepare to raid the Rhoyne. Every single piece of loot they claim is one less for fucking Volantis.

Anyway, regarding that, things we have to offer them.

+1 weapons and armor commissioned from our mage-smiths
Silvered Weapons
Rhoynish Cold Iron mace that's been sitting unused in our treasury (he should be interested in this since it's a piece of his ancestors' history, and it's not like we had anyone lined up for it anyway)
Magelights
Obsidian Sand attuned to a brazier so that Tyene can talk to Oberyn pretty much whenever she feels like it (and so we can get a constant feed of intel during his mission)
An Arcane-marked stone so that we can teleport to him if he's in danger
Petty gear that can be crafted by Leila since we haven't specified her doing anything (Amulet of PfE)

He would be paying for everything except the magelights (although the silvered weapons are inexpensive enough that we can probably just gift that to him and gain some good will with Tyene). @Goldfish, let us know if any of this panics you and you don't want to offer it.

EDIT: Oh, and a binding promise that he does not in any way interact with the Mysterium. :rage:

He gets nothing for free, IMO. Dorne has been a piss poor ally so far, and I'm not inclined to generosity towards them.

Even stuff that is free for us, such as the Continual Flame items. Those things normally require 10 IM worth of material components to create, and the Lar can only make one per day.
