And then helping a child newly awoken to power in the face of those without understanding, who would start demanding answers, and not stop so she could rest and have time to think and speak with her parents.

Before we send Fake Renly in, we should definitely brief him on what to expect and what's too much to hope for. If we don't I can't see a scenario where that ends well.

When we are playing against Mammon, Tiamat and an Elder Brain, how will getting a stubborn Westerosi lord a bit more on our side matter?

I think that might be on par with catching the falling shadow tower.
Next time someone gets salty about Viserys being overshadowed by awesome friends, we should remember this moment where the player character, in his field of focus, where he spent effort, where he leveraged the context of his social position, did something impossible.

Cognitive dissonance... you know, this looks like a inversion of the rebellion, duty to liege king, Vs duty to his people/kin. And again he chose against the sitting king.
