Uh, guys? Don't forget to vote for elective classes!

Looking at it again, I kind of do want to try and max out as many of Anna's skills as possible. They'll help keep her alive so that she is more able to get into position to use Wave Force manipulation, which currently is still a zero range attack.

While I agree with grinding skills in principle, my issue is this is going to be a very anime plot (until it isn't but yeah). And what we need are things to pull out of nowhere to stay relevant. Further development of wave force is one of those things.

It doesn't actually have any tangible results in the immediate sense though, while the skills will. And once those are addressed, we can pretty much just ignore them indefinitely and focus entirely on Wave Force development. Focusing on Wave Force first means that we'll still have sub-optimal skills, and still won't actually have Blue Wave yet.

Didn't get one of the first plans out, so I'm gonna throw my support behind your plan because that covered the major points I wanted (kinda wanted the Japan only trip, but that can be for our next time skip)

Blue Wave and finishing up things like Teleport are important, but I also want to get the training sessions, and they might give some extra towards Wave Force stuff anyway. EDIT: Training Sessions is something we do really want to do, since that will probably help with our project of helping Koujirou and Setsuna be the very best they can be.

You're not wrong, so to speak, but I think we still have plenty left in our bag of tricks that the rest of the flight doesn't know about yet.

It's a tough choice. Wave Force is going to be better, long term. But increases to lesser abilities first might make us better able to cope short term so we can get to long-term. And we don't know how much time we have or how many points we'll get before we finish.

EDIT: Will we get enough points and time to finish Wave Motion and round out our teleport skills? If not, it's best to push Blue Wave all the way. If so, it might be best to round out the skills now so we can perform well when not using our one-shot, leave yourself helpless afterwards trump move.

In an anime plot, character development is more important to survival than abilities, so we should give Sandra more opportunities to explore Anna's issues, preferably while doing something positive. (I'm still advocating the reconstruction efforts. ;p)

Tough choice. I like Godspeed's UNHCR reconstruction focus, though I also would like to finish Blue Wave. On the other hand, extra mobility never hurt anyone. On the third hand Blue Wave means Wave Force would no longer be a zero range attack, which would make Anna less reliant on mobility.
Sure, ignoring the downsides, but it's a long way off. There's lots and lots and lots of things we can pick up right now to max vs getting a tiny way into Blue Wave.

If you're going to do Blue Wave, rush it hard at the expense of everything else because it's just useless investment until then.

You're not wrong, so to speak, but I think we still have plenty left in our bag of tricks that the rest of the flight doesn't know about yet.
Well, the other problem is that Blue Wave is 1050 points. Like, if we put in 70 points every 50 days we get it in oh, about two years. And that's two years of constant work, not two years of two 100-day semesters, that would be five years. Not committing at least 150-200 points means we never get Blue Wave within the timeframe of this quest. And realistically if we want Blue Wave by the time Kojirou is an Elite, we should commit about 200 to 300.

I've said before, and I'll repeat it again: I fully expect this to break something, and as such fail to actually get it done usefully faster.

Since I still want it done at some point, this means putting in at least some at every opportunity.

The problem is, using the current paradigm as an example, you have to pay a 70 point surcharge just to train it at all. Yes, there's obviously ancillary benefits to the Training sessions, but it's not the primary focus. Tiny investments constantly suffer the most from doing so.

You actually already use something along these lines, but with spatial compression within the boundaries of your own Impeller, not teleportation. It's one of the many skills buried under the Target Rich Environment umbrella. It's also similar to a unique skill of one of the others Aces in the 20 called Gemini.

I figured that Anna might use spacial compression to due something similar but I figured a teleportation based version would be both a qualitative upgrade and be much more visually comprehensible way of representing super dodging in the meta-visuals of the anime format. Nice to have confirmation though.

While skills can be used immediately, I have trouble seeing us need them in the time frame of working on Blue Wave.

What do you think would come up in the time frame of us focusing on Blue Wave over all of those skills that they would make a significant difference in? We're the number one Valk and far from the front. Everything is already pretty fucked if we need them so soon in my opinion

Actually, I think I'll move some points off of Teleport and Interdiction to speed up Blue Wave.

Yeah, that's the other thing. Those supplementary skills? What is Anna Sanchez going to die to that she'd need them, back while the flight are playing against babby's first Antagonist.

When we do decide to devote 50 days to supplementary skills, we can smash through like 3 full skill banks and max them in that 500 points alone.

?
-[] Attend Instructor training sessions.
Benefits: Unlocks and trains certain group skills. May train Wave Force.
Cost: 7 days - 70 points.
-[] Attend general Flight training sessions.
Benefits: Unlocks and trains certain group skills. May train Target Rich Environment. May train Wave Force.
Cost: 7 days - 70 points.

... Huh. I see how that could be read that way, but I'm pretty sure what's actually going on there is that Instructor Training and General Flight Training double as skill training in addition to their narrative effects.

@Avalanche, are we required to take Instructor Training or Flight Training as activities in order to train Blue Wave?

(Truthfully, even if we -aren't- required, most of the plans that do involve training Blue Wave are eating the expenditure there anyway, so it's somewhat moot in the short term unless those plan-makers switch.)
