If we cut off their legs, they might bleed out. Do we have the equivalent of a marker on us?
There's always this:
-[X] Place an Arcane Mark on the Maenad we just defeated. It deserves...special treatment.
It's permanent, too. :)
The sacrifices are the only thing that make this worthwhile, and, I hate myself for suggesting this, but if they are victims, I would not be surprised if we could get the Old Gods or Yss to take their lives as the fuel needed to restore their souls, and then let them pass on. And any remaining life energy can be used for nibbles/transaction fee.
This could actually work out. If the souls are still in there (I have my doubts) then this should restore them enough that they can pass on to a decent afterlife... Well, however decent that will be since the Good planes are devastated.
I have a word for you: Sahuagin.

Or we use the lovely Wayfinder to get reacquainted with our friend the Vrock who so rudely left us back in Mantarys.
Point, but I'm hoping to get all the necessary sacrifices here in one fell swoop so that we don't have to waste an action hunting. We're ridiculously pressed for time. That's the reason I was so happy about these monsters. They literally walked right into our fingers and spared us the trouble of having to hunt them.

Vrock feels the scrying attempt. Greater teleports. We get aggravated by time it costs us by being so rude as to flee.

Getting the drop on a demon who flees from you is not exactly easy - Actually, when the Vrock fled in Mantares, why did it fly away instead of teleporting?

It flew because it was still in range of the Master Ward around Mantarys. That's the same reason we didn't abuse teleports like crazy while we were in the city. Master Ward went down after we stole the Shadow Tower, though.

Not scrying. Circle Dance.
No maximum range and he doesn't notice anything.

@Goldfish, I have to ask, what's the logic of separating with Azema anyway? It was strongly implied in the updates that it would have been a really bad idea to split up the party. Can't she just hold the polymorphed Maenads and still accompany us?

Plan updated. She's now tagging along as our Invisible demonic turtle chauffeur.

Crazy idea: Build Godswoods on all the islands on the Stepstones, and then actually make the Old Gods rebuild the land they broke some time before.

Wouldn't it be awesome?

And then Braavos and Volantis join forces to declare war on us since we have erased their trade routes and thus destroyed their economies.

That's actually the plan. We only need two more Maenads for a fully-upgraded Heart Tree in the town square SD (with Panacea, Heart's Ease, and Tongues) assuming that we're feeding the CR 13 one to Yss, then after that we need three more Maenads for another Heart Tree with one secondary effect. So, five more Maenads and we're good. And if we get six more we're looking at two secondary effects for the plant-centered Heart Tree. :)

I think we should put the plant growth tree on an other wise empty island, one of the on named ones on the map. DP had said those ones were unlikely to have much plant or animal life due to a lack of water, like Saltcliff sometimes had. Thus these islands could use the help and in so doing we have a new settlement we can build and until we do our magical greenhouse island is protected by being an out of the way nowhere island that no one stops at since there isn't supposed to be food or water there.

As for the other tree, why do we need another one at SD? We should put one here in Westhaven? We can do like we did in SD and start our rule with a blood sacrifice of those we defeated. The chosen spells would be nice to have there, sure but they'd also be nice to have here where we don't have a heart tree yet at all. Actually for that matter where are we getting the Weirwoods from? Can we just pick up seeds from the one in SD or do we need to search for a sapling again? If we can't readily get the seeds our only option wood be the one in the Windhouse in Braavos which is far from ideal. On the plus side we could sacrifice some tortoises and a fox without getting in trouble with the law there.

It's mainly because I want a tree of tongues prominently placed in our town square to aid the economy. People from all over the world could come and barter under its shade. I completely agree with growing another tree in Westhaven, though. I want a tree for every island.

About the Greenhouse Tree and where to put it: A random island kinda difficults harvest. I mean, Vee can teleport, but nobody else can if we want mundane work.

Also, @Mormont, as for where we get the new Weirwoods from, DP has ruled that we're allowed to use cuttings from our Heart Tree. There's no need for a mad scramble to get a new sapling. :)

Agreed. This, and the fact that the Weirwood will have a limited range anyway, so it's hardly going to get out of control and infest the entire island with magical and mundane weeds.

As long as the ones that exist are under our control, either via Vee's rebuke or by crafted leshys, or the plants are immobile, we should be safe enough.

EDIT: forgot to vote.

I would rather we plant a Heart Tree in every reasonable location on SD before we start putting them in other places. We could have the Diplomacy Tree, the Healing Tree, the Defense Tree, etc., each located in a different district of the city, depending on its function.

And then, once SD is at maximum Heart Tree saturation, we can branch out to our other holdings.

But SD should always be the best. Also, the more we invest in the place now, the easier it will be to justify not using King's Landing as the Capital of our Glorious Draconic Empire. Provincial capital, sure, seat of our worldwide government? Never!

I will admit, I've always been partial to the idea of making Sorcerer's Deep the grandest city the world has ever seen. A better Valyria. :p

I still want to rule from a flying Doomfortress. It's just so much easier to run a multi-plane empire when the seat of government can Planeshift.

We don't need to justify what's our royal capital. We're a teleporting dragon.

Though I'm fond of shifting the Westeros Capital to Harrenhal (it's better located, anyway).

Eh. I've always found those to be rather tacky.

There's probably a Heart Tree for that, too. We might have to sacrifice an Elder Brain, a half-dozen Balors, and a hundred White Walkers to power it up, but it'll be within our grasp. Eventually.

Curious if after these new sacrifices if we can take a large branch from Heart tree and use it to make a weirwood spear connected to Old Gods that gives them power when we bleed our enemies. Sure it won't be as energy efficient as an actual Heart tree but more convenient so in long run we get more blood in general than trying to capture monsters and such for it.

DP shot down our idea of a flying island since Yss was too weak even after being fed the Mantis Head, but what if we grew a couple strategically-placed Heart Trees for that exact purpose? They could provide the means for flying, and then we can figure out plane-shifting through some other means.

Harrenhal is nice, but it's also landlocked. On the other hand it could work if we get a huge population of griffon and hippogriff riders to make up for that.
At that point I much prefer an enchantment by Lya over something a god has granted and might be able to take back.
True. Lya work is far more reliable than anything else.

Blasphemy!
