Sounds good. Fiery Burst and spontaneous Fireballs should go a long way and +2 Deflection AC can't hurt.

Not sure about the Water-Arcanum through. I'm still more partial to Good-Positive as a healbot first.
We have a lot of healers, but a Teacher with a large fraction of Lya's skill and knowledge would be pretty much unique for our academy and free up much of the original's time.

And here's another way we could seriously ruin their days: Garin has Death Attack.

Viserys carries Garin invisibly and close to it, Garin opens up with a Death Attack after Viserys pops up a Pain Dart to lower its saves.

So, no one going to discuss how artemis plan leaves the shore the and mystery illithid alone?

It's obviously a distraction. Don't freaking fall for it!

[X] Yes
-[X] Fetch Vee on the evening before the attack, have her stay with the villagers and summon a Unicorn to keep them in a PfE-Circle and Satyrs to guard them and make spot-checks.
-[X] Maelor also stays with them
-[X] Waymar keeps See Invisibility active, shares it with Winter, whom will be flying invisibly and giving a birds eye view of the surroundings.

[X] Attack the strange creature

-[X] Viserys carries Garin, invisibly, above the creature. Fly around it at max fireball range first and study it/check for illusions and wards. Is it a summon?
-[X] Viserys casts Pain Darts and a Hasted Garin Death Attacks. If the death attack fails, use breath weapon and carry him away for another go.

That will take far, far longer than a Teleport. And the fight will take longer than it would with Richard's help.
Do we desperatly need those 5th level slots?

Burning precious resources on what might be a illusion.

We are very unlikely to need everyone to kill it. Garin puts out more damage than Richard does.
It has a mental effect over a giant distance. You know any Illusion that could do that?
And the Divination warned us of the Ether Swimmer, Flesh Twister, Mind Bender, what else could it be if not that thing?

I vastly prefer a slightly overpowered first strike to get our defense back in order afterwards than risking that this thing is simply immune to Crit and Sneak attacks.

What... if this thing is incorporeal?

How do we prepare for that?
I suspect it can swim through etheral, after all it had to get in our sky. Doesn't mean it's incoporeal now.
But even if it is, magic weapons and spells have a 50% chance of working and we can't improve that without Ghost Touch Weapon, a level 3 Cleric spell we don't have right now.

Why waste the Air Walks then. Let Richard Air Walk due to his leap attack need, have Vee cast fly on Garin.

And Glyra hits nowhere near hard enough for this kind of challenge.

[X] Attack the strange creature

-[X] Garin gives Richard Airwalk and gets Fly from Vee
-[X] Teleport Viserys, those two and Glyra to a point slightly above the flying creature.
-[X] Sky-Sushi time!
-[X] Stay together, ready to teleport back as soon as the thing is dead or you have to retreat.

She can fire our Firedarts in the first round.
Then attack to speal any spell-effects on it, if the Illithides send it here it will ahve some kind of buffs.
