"Alright, here's what we're going to do. Karin and I will distract the jinchuuriki, whilst Naruto and Hiroyuki carry our unconscious passengers through - Sasuke, keeping them safe from this guy's teammates is your job. We only need to get to the tower, not fight this guy to the death. Everyone got that?" Hisana said, her voice crisp and her seal was still extended. She had perhaps twenty more minutes of use on it, but for the moment she was still benefiting from the increased physical capability.

Team Seven and hangers signalled that they understood, and then the rush began. There was perhaps two hundred and fifty metres of clear space around the tower, with little cover or concealment available. Two chakra signatures that had to be Kankuro and Temari stood off near the opposite side of the clearing - they were unlikely to intervene, in Hisana's opinion. Gaara stood halfway between the tower and the trees, sand swirling around him.

Hisana rushed forward at tremendous speed, her hands moving from seal to seal. Water shot out of her mouth, so fast and compact that it became a deadly projectile. The water slammed against Gaara's shield of sand, of course, but it got his attention. A half dozen streams of sand sped forwards towards Hisana, but with her enhanced speed she was able to dart between them.

She formed seals with her hand once more, and leapt up into the air. Huge bullets of air came roaring forth from Hisana's mouth, smashing into Gaara's sand barrier with great force as she fell towards the ground. Sand rushed up to meet her, but Hisana pointed her index finger to the side and activated one of the jutsu taught to her by the Ravens. She was flung to the side, the violent force of the motion propelling her towards the tower.

A horde of Naruto clones rushed forward, sheltering the real people within with their own bodies. Sasuke blew fire from his mouth; blowing away an attempt at an attack from above. More and more clones were destroyed, but then they were through and into the tower.

A golden chain shot up towards her, and Hisana grabbed at it as another whiped itself towards Gaara. The chain smashed into his sand, seeming to coil around it as it was slowly crushed. Karin let go of that chain and, holding on for dear life, signalled for Hisana to use her wind movement jutsu again. Once more a blast of violent wind smashed into Hisana, jerking her towards the tower. Karin was launched off the ground; a spear of sand only just missing her. Gaara screamed in inarticulate rage; and for just a moment a small measure of Shukaku's power seemed to seep out.

Then Hisana and Karin smashed through the thin wall of the base of the tower, and landed in it's first room. Or, more accurately, Hisana stuck a three point landing and then caught Karin. Hisana gently put Karin down, then helped her up. Naruto, Sasuke, Hiroyuki and a bunch of Naruto clones were already inside the tower, having dumped Karin's teammates on the floor. She went over to them and then hefted them up on her shoulders.

"We really made it, didn't we?" asked Sasuke.

"We're not done yet, but yeah. We made it through the world's most insane training exercise," Hisana said. It's work finally done, her seal receded to be filled once more. Her sharingan was still activated, and she was about to turn it off before she saw what Karin was doing. She was somehow leaving a trail of chakra in the air, spelling out words in English.

"Not with the camo cape guys, or the trenchcoats. Yamanaka can't read memories of your previous life. Will explain later," the genin spelled out, and Hisana felt herself go still. She'd had her suspicions, but she hadn't thought that Karin might be like her. Now that's a thought she hasn't had for a while, Hisana mused. No, she had to get back on topic - Karin was a transmigrant. She said she wasn't working for either of the two "new" factions, but of course she couldn't just take Karin at her word.

Yet, Hisana would do almost anything for someone she could be really honest with. Someone to share the burden of saving this awful, messed up world from itself with. So she stayed her hand from her sword, and resolved not to trust Karin just yet - but not to push her away, either. Her sharingan faded back into her eyes, and Hisana steeled herself. Now to report in, and hopefully derail the invasion - if it was even still going to happen. Orochimaru might have been working with the Trenchcoats, who almost certainly had multiple transmigrants.

Speaking of reporting in, she'd almost certainly be asked to submit to a mind-read by a Yamanaka; if only to verify something so absurd as Orochimaru infiltrating a chunin exam. If Karin wanted to defect to Konoha, then she'd have to be subjected to one too - but she could be lying about that. Yet Hisana saw no reason why Karin would want Hisana to be discovered. Memories read by someone without the sharingan or sensory talent would look odd, certainly chakra patterns would be distorted enough so that text like Karin had made would be unreadable.

"We're really gonna be chunins! Come on guys, let's get moving so we can get to the stage where we kick everyone's assess in front of an auidence!" Naruto shouted, his exuberance only mildly dented by the battles against Orochimaru and Gaara. He did have that look on his face that said he wanted desperately to ask Hisana about something, presumably to do with Gaara.

"Do we need to report what happened to someone? Hiroyuki said that man was one of the Sannin..." Sasuke said, looking unsure. Hisana paused before she replied. If she thought Karin was telling the truth, then reporting their encounter was the sensible option. But if she wasn't - if this was part of some scheme - then Hisana might just expose herself as having knowledge of the future to Danzo. She still wasn't sure why Danzo was keeping her alive, and she didn't want to make herself more of a problem or someone worth kidnapping.

[] Yes, report your encounter to Orochimaru.

I presume you mean 'with', not 'to'?

...

Also, why is Speed still B-Ranked on the sheet, and why are we missing the Speed trait we got?

EDIT:

[X] Yes, report your encounter with Orochimaru.

Then, ever so slowly, she stood. She leaned on her sword, shaking slightly as she got to her feet. The orange barrier disolved around her; flakes of chakra floating away like ash. Some of it brushed past her face, the once deadly energy now merely warm to the touch. Her Final Hurricane seal receded, once more a mostly empty red diamond on her forehead.
and yet according to this update Hisana's seal is still active:

I just caught up from binging, right before this update:

Trenchcoats? Transmigrant? Camo capes?

These weren't mentioned in story before so what is Hisana talking about?

I even looked over the last update for a mention of it being deactivated. Will fix.

Yes, it should be 'with', not 'to'. Character sheet is being updated.

Trenchcoats: dudes from graduation who wore trenchcoats

Camo capes: dudes working with the zetsus

Transmigrant: name for SIs

Hisana has no idea if they're separate factions or working together, but Karin seems to list them separately.

Or maybe a surprise defection to Sound is coming up. :p

I do appreciate the whole HIGarraByeGarra thing. Very vwoop vwoop, Shisui approves.

There's probably a chance that nobody knows about Orochimaru, but if they do know not reporting it will seem very odd. And I don't think that the authorities finding out about Mary is a game-over. They'll be reading our mind, so they'll know we're loyal enough and especially to our loyal team. Keeping quiet about important information is likely some flavor of illegal in a military dictatorship, but there are mitigating factors (So many SIs changing everything, fear of other SIs, it sounds crazy) and we're probably too valuable to kill casually even if they were so inclined.

So, even if Karin is lying, which I don't think she is...

[X] Yes, report your encounter with Orochimaru.

Edit: On second thought, she mentioned the Trencoats and the Camo Capes. Groups that we know about, described with an identifying feature that someone who didn't know the name would get. Maybe there are only two worrisome Transmigrant factions, or maybe she knew things about us that are kinda suspicious.

The trenchcoat guys were pretty blatant, but...

Eh, it's probably fine. Just doing a quick paranoia check.

These were never mentioned again so it seemed strange that they'd get a Proper Noun to address them and that she'd know exactly what was being discussed.

Especially since transmigrant was never mentioned in story at all.

Is this being influenced by OOC discussion?

And Danzo almost certainly knows all about transmigrants. Because that's the only plausible way for someone to learn that Yamanakas can't read transmigrant memories without Sarutobi knowing and doing something about it.
