Is speed really such an important factor? And as for the ship also being a fortification—it's going to be based on a wolfship. Those things are made from wood. I wouldn't want to use it as a fortification because a battery of canon could blow through it. A tower would be stone, and it wouldn't be an old fashioned one like Drakenhof, but a modern one made to withstand artillery—at least, withstand it long enough to withdraw.
We invented our first battle magic spell just so that the big land ships in the dum expedition could go faster.

This single decision trivialized most of the trip. Nobody that would think to pick a fight with us managed to nut up and do it in time to actually intercept us.

Speed is life. It is the freedom to pick and choose your fights.

As for the strength of the ship itself, I think that is going to be quite enhanced beyond the strength of its base materials. When I say we could use it as a fortification though, I don't mean that we land it. I more mean that it would stay in the air for most of the time and just provide fire support. Deploying and withdrawing large numbers of troops would require a landing but not much else.

... But that was before I remembered that this is a wolf ship in the sky and not a zepplin. I forget what its ability to stay in the sky for long periods of time is...

Man what is this vote...

It goes dormant for an age with only the occasional vote by people dropping or someone deciding to change theirs. And now the debate is back in swing to the point that people have to chime over which option is better despite having already done so.

... Did I vote? I don't know if I voted so fuck it I vote.

[X] Plan: The Prismatic Wanderer

Apologies to those of you who want otherwise. I would not give up an airship for the world. Although I would sacrifice it in a heroic blaze of glory. But that's contingent on having it so here we go!

It really saddens me that in this time of abrupt resurgent interest in voting, not that many people appear to be interested in fighting and entire forest so that we could become an Elector-Countess. :(

I probably voted for something back then, but in case I didn't I will vote again.

[X] Plan: The Prismatic Wanderer
[X] Plan Tower of Doom! and Research!

I don't see any options that really excite me, but at least those two are grand. Both may be a wrong kind of grand (sadly I can't decide what is the right kind of grand in this case), but the laundry list of requests is just... pedestrian? It doesn't evoke the feeling of monumental reward for a monumental feat, it feels like a business transaction. And I want this to feel like a monumental reward even if in the end the reward itself turns out to be something we use once in a blue moon.

The Armor also requires narrative screentime to be relevant. If we do not get into dangerous fights, the kind of fights that might have been lethal without it the armor is pointless. If we get into those fights, but roll well enough not to need it anyway it's useful as a safety line but doesn't show up in the narrative.
It's going to change the rolls dramatically, I think.

Also, I am decently sure it would not have been de-activated by Khorne in a battle with his champion like when we fought the Kull encampment.

There are a bunch of horrible wars lined up to try and reclaim some nexuses and Karaks, not to mention the oncoming Everchugging train.
I think it would be like adding wings to a tiger in its help towards Matilde either helping or just making the wars actually winnable.

Deep infiltration or deep scouting is much more feasible when getting caught does not mean you are de facto dead.

Matilde with her battlesword has a DPS that is really good, but she is restrained by her need to avoid getting hit. If she does not have to worry about getting hit by mooks, then it fundamentally changes any battlefield, because if she can figure out where any enemy leader or officer (non-mook) is, she can take them out. It becomes a battle of information and mobility which is one Matilde is uniquely able to handle.

Adding an unbreakable (by mooks) defense, makes it so that she has a much easier time disrupting enemy formations or logistics or anything, really.

A Bright wizard using the armor of Von Tarnus is nice. It turns a normally relatively squishy powerful artillery piece into a hard target. Super nice to have artillery protected that way.

Matilde or anyone who can teleport, using a weapon of similar quality as Matilde does and who has the resistance to spells/magic that Matilde does, having the armor of Von Tarnus is ever-so-much-more than just well-protected artillery.

Well, this is all a turn-up for the books.

Still got votes for both Pickle's requests and the Prismatic Wanderer going... Prefer them both a great deal to the armour so we don't miss out on the narrative fulfilment of We-silk robes but if we're reaching the point where a single vote could matter, it may be time to make a call...

...

Gah, it's very tough this time around! Still, I fear I'm too attached to the possibility of bringing as many people as we want to, familiar and fondly looked upon characters included, to far-flung places of interest swiftly and with minimal danger and logistical complications. (The chance to enchant those We-silk robes ourselves having had a chance to study Nagarythe's own magical stealthwear, and possibly with Windherding involved, is also at the back of my mind.) Absolute worst case that I've seen people worry about, that Mathilde never actually uses it, still means that K8P/the EIC/the Empire as a whole get to deploy it for their own efforts and the Colleges' reputation is advanced from what is very obviously one of their projects being useful!

Edit: Or, you know, the armour could pull ahead again with Pickle's requests challenging. Well, I did predict these dynamics!

[X] Plan Pickle Requests mk IV
[X] Plan: The Prismatic Wanderer (Researcher ver)
[X] Plan: The Prismatic Wanderer
[X] Flying Vehicle
[X] Elector-Countess
[X] Support in dispatching Battle Wizards to one major conflict of Mathilde's choice
[X] Rainbow Throng: Full Collegiate Aid to be called upon during one of the campaigns of Nexus reclamation
[X]Enchant We-Silk Robes as best as Collegiate is able
