Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Since this has been confirmed valid:

[ ] Airship Production Cooperation + Super Prototype: Request that the colleges cooperate with the Karaz Ankor on creating a flying ship type that can, in theory, be regularly produced - plus dibs on a prototype of a larger ship when such is built.

Once the airship gets built we can still do all the cool things with it - use it as a mobile base, swoop in guns blazing in the middle of a conflict, etc etc, but rather than it being a one-off thing... there could be entire sky armadas, or air forces, built upon it.
If we want SKy Armadas, then we have a very good reason to go on a diplomatic mission to Cathay. If we go into the country with 'Hey can we know how your blimps work :)' that wouldn't work. But with two major nations of order we can roll in and go "I think we can cooperate and work out some degree of tech sharing (Mostly the Empire) and possibly weapon trading' would have a lot more potential.

This would be hell of a lot more complicated than I'm laying out. But they are the ones who are fielding fleets of the fucking things.

Pegasus knights are a Bretonnian thing, not an Empire thing. Not enough pegasi for a knightly order. The Empire instead has demigryph knights.

What do you see the colleges bringing to the table in this collaboration? I don't think a bunch of dwarf engineers would be too keen on developing an airship that is reliant on Umgi magic.

Here's my own idea on the ship. Some of the other plans have the line of "suited for exploration, warfare and research", but given that we already have one very good research lab (two if you count Tor Lithanel's!) and given that we're unlikely to research stuff literally on the fly, I think we should drop that. That means it's probably a warship suited for both exploration and war.

I also think we need to lean in on the wizardry aspect. We are asking the Colleges to be Very Extra and this ship should reflect that.

[] Plan: The Prismatic Wanderer
-[] A flying warship, suited for both exploration and warfare
-[] Comfortable for small groups of people to live in for extended periods of time, and capable in an emergency of transporting a medium-sized groups of elite forces from one place to another (e.g. Empire Knights, Dwarf Ironbreakers, Eonir Ghost Striders, KAU scribes)
-[] Wizardy aesthetic - dragon figurehead on the prow, living tree serving as central mast, bottom possibly wreathed in fog, etc.
-[] Has magical weaponry and/or defenses (e.g. Dragon figurehead on the prow might fill enemy forces with the fear of death, ballistas on the sides might shoot out fireballs, a Flock of Doom might emerge from a literal crow's nest, etc)
-[] Possibly needs to be crewed by Perpetuals
-[] Possibly flat-bottomed to allow for landing on firm ground, if that makes sense vibes-wise

I will say that I like the idea of removing College Favor constraints. We've achieved something so monumental that we don't need to scrounge up the papers to afford to get someone's help on a thing, we just need a worthwhile reason. It's something that doesn't lock us into any particular sort of thing we look to do after the Waystone Project wraps up, instead just being something that lets us rely on firm Collegiate support for anything that we look to do.

The idea of the Airship Production Co-op honestly sounds like something I might want Mathilde to do as a project for WEB-MAT, rather than just outsourcing it entirely.

My worry about the "super prototype" plan is that we wouldn't see our share of it for a long, long time.

My preferred vote of hotrodding Eike's Natural Alchemy trait with super sekrit gold college training would take a while to bear fruit too, but it just feels right for the ur-xeno-affiliated grey's apprentice to become the ur-xenotech wizard, even setting aside how it'd make her so much more capable as a wizard overall - her knowledge of magical conductivity in everyday materials is something she applies in her regular spellcasting, for goodness sake!

Incidentally, I am having an awful time tracking down Eike's character sheet. Search bar be failing me...

Just check the most recent turn-vote. It's in a spoiler-box right above the Coin options.

[X] Armor of von Tarnus

And at @picklepikkl's request I'll post his own plan here:
[X] Plan Pickle Requests mk IV
-[X] Ambers: The secret behind Flock of Doom
-[X] Lights: KAU partnership with the Light Order's Ancient Library
-[X] Golds: A We-silk robe enchanted for combat defense
-[X] Jades: Pure CF
-[X] Celestials: Bankroll for upcoming magical curiosities shopping trip in Lothern
-[X] Greys: Operatives to expand the reach of the EIC intel network
-[X] Amethysts: Information on what Hexensohn was doing under Drakenhof and why
-[X] Brights: Gyrocarriage enchanted with Inextinguishable Flame

With some of his reasoning here:
This worked out to a nice 2-2-2-2 distribution, something for everyone.
  • From the Ambers and Amethysts, some secrets, asked for mostly to assuage our curiosity rather than because we expect to gain power from them.
  • From the Lights and Greys, some assets for the institutions Mathilde controls
  • From the Golds and Brights, enchanted items that Mathilde is too busy to make herself any time soon
  • From the Jades and Celestials, raw resources that can be exchanged for goods and services
The idea was raised to get a defensively-enchanted We-silk robe from someone else. The Jade defensive spell at Fiendishly Complex wasn't great because it slows you down in exchange for strength, but that's not really a factor with Branulhune. The Amber spells were okay, but I really want to know what the deal is with Corvus the Crow Lord. But I was just asking for money from the Golds, so I swapped around who I was asking for that because Golds, unsurprisingly, have a bunch of great defensive enchantments, and Guard of Steel (for example) has already been OKed as stacking with Aethyric Armour. And then I changed the request wording to the Greys in response to suggestions.

I actually feel pretty good about this one. It doesn't do any one thing as well as the single-boon suggestions, but it does a bunch of different things simultaneously, and maybe people will prefer that.

[X] Armor of von Tarnus

It's an extremely cool relic, and one that Mathilde is more than capable of living up to and putting to the use it was made for - acting as an unkillable whirlwind of steel and magic on the battlefield. For those who don't keep up with the thread at all, the Armour is enchanted to allow spellcasting despite being made of metal, and its protection stacks with Mathilde's own Aethyric Armour (which in turn makes her indefatiguable from running around in plate, as a bonus). It's effectively 'total mook immunity' with a sizeable buff remaining for bigger nastier foes and is quite literally "best in slot" for protective mage equipment.

For those who prefer a timeshare approach to their outfits:

[X] Plan Tower of Doom! and Research!
-[X] Construct a flying Wizard's tower large enough to house one to two dozen people for an extended period of time
-[X] Ensure it is capable of essentially indefinite flight, to the point of being capable of crossing oceans
-[X] Equip it with the finest research amenities the colleges can provide
-[X] Equip it with powerful enchantments suitable for offensive and defensive purposes.
-[X] Equip it with a bunch of cannons as well.

I just want a good flying tower or ship. I like my tower plan as something that could be plopped down as a remote research base or temporary fortress, but the Prismatic Wanderer ship plan covers most of what I want.

Edit: Throwing in a Pickle approval vote. It's a nice spread of good things from each college. I might be tempted to rework a few of the choices, but it's quite solid.

[X] Break College Favor/ Tenure

[X] Plan Tower of Doom! and Research!

Does anyone remember the plans that had Dwarves being involved in the tower making too?

[X] Mathilde's Flying Circus Knightship MK 2
-[X] ORB: Giant Flying Warship with rooms for Cannon, Knights, Cargo, Research, Research Team, Personal Quarters, a good kitchen, infirmary, sensitive/dangerous material containment, magical anti-air, takeoff points for smaller on-board fliers (Amber wizards wrangle up a number of flying beasts?), and other space for future expansion.
-[X] QUEEKISH BOON: Found a Knightly Order for the ship, equipped with the finest dwarven steel w/ runes, skilled with on-foot operations as well as able to ride atop smaller flying units. (flying beasts/gyrocopter?)
-[X] DWARF BOONS: Assist with the above vis a vis providing the mundane components of the boat + design expertise, knightly orders equipment/armaments, and runework.

For now voting this. I really dislike breaking the favor system since I think it is interesting and engaging and gives us a reason to keep Max around.

I really do think it's the ultimate jack of all trades option. You want mobility? Gyrocarriage with infinite fuel. Insane armor? Boney has stated the colleges can outstrip Mathilde there and the Golds are the best at defensive enchantments. You want secrets? Hexensohn has been bothering threadgoers for years. I could go on, for how great literally every boon is. This plan has a little (a lot) of something for everyone, while saving us a small mountain of AP.
