[X] Ask how her cats are doing

Well relations with the queen are never going to be more than frosty at this point I feel, but escalating right now feels like a bad idea even if she deserves it.

[X] Did you ever met one such woman ? And did she hurt someone in your family ?

It's not our job to educate her, it's our job to decide who lives and who dies.

… I mean, morally I won't disagree. But practically we're likely either going to have to change her view, hide our relationship fairly thoroughly, win her children over despite her, pivot hard to the Velayrons (who have been unreceptive so far), or win a three way war.

I should point out that, barring something drastic, we're decades away from any sort of fight so uh, we have time. I just get a bit exhausted by how everyone acts like everything's immediately urgent when it comes stopping the Dance when we're not even to episode 3 of season 1 of the show in terms of timescale.

[X] Write-in: Tell her to hold her tongue. Queen and stepmother or not, you will not allow her to insult your cousin. And if you ever hear these vicious lies spoken in the Red Keep, you will hold her responsible and you will make sure that she will face consequences for it.

I apologies, I didn't mean to contribute to your exhaustion. I meant 'eventually.'

Interested in both of these. Also hoping people theorizing Rhaenys is down to grab Rhaenyra's olive branches whole Corlys is the one stonewalling her. She's the one with the dragon after all.

It's very tempting to give Johanna the answer she deserves...but it would also be stupid in the long run, however if everything works out I would suggest that when Rhaenyra is on the Iron Throne we make Johanna watch Rhaenyra kissing Alicent in front of the entire court, it would be a much more powerful slap in the face, I think.

Just gonna tell you right now, there's no sympathetic reason for why she's like this, no one hurt her, or her family. She is just incredibly misinformed and prejudice.

Yeah, i needed to clarify that.

Teen Spirit could/does the supported name vote just be included to whichever other topic wins plurality or does the name winning stop any of the other topics/retorts from being breached. Just because its a fairly simple thing to show support about?

Just remember, we are in Westeros.

A place that takes the worst traits (both historical and exaggerated) of Europe's Middle Age.

Homophobic people is just something Rhaenyra will have to get used to, so totally keeping her relationship with Alicent a tight-secret.

And we certainly don't want to give potential enemies ammunition "of Morality" to use against us

I just think it would be really funny if even years from now, the only conversations we've had with Johanna are regarding her cats. The semi-awkward small talk to default to when you're uncomfortable with your step-mom.

Also think the one where we call it vicious lies is a bit laughable. Jeyne might be the most openly gay woman Westeros has ever seen, so threatening Johanna if we ever hear rumors about it again is like threatening Otto for calling Daemon an unstable wildcard. It's not only hella true but everyone already knows.

I think it more the paedophilia rumour than the Lesbian rumour, that these voters are talking about.

After mulling it over, I'm willing to switch to this.

[X] Write-in: Tell her that jealous men have been spreading such tales about you ever since you took up the sword, and that you have learned to pay little heed to rumormongers. You danced with Jeyne because you did not wish to give anyone ideas about marriage.

I'm a bit worried on the "hold your tongue" vote that
1) this can be interpreted as a threat, and an a response might be start politicking against us in earnest. Especially because Johanna will think that such rumors will spread regardless of what she does.
2) We might be overstepping the authority we actually have. There's a point in the show where Rhaenyra and Alicent are deliberately giving contradictory orders to someone, and the person in question follows Alicent's orders over Rhaenyra. We do not actually have authority over her. So the only way we can actually enforce this threat is to go to Viserys… and I don't know that he'd actually back us on this. If it was rumors about us he probably would, but I'm not sure he'll create issues with his wife for the sake of Jeyne, even if we push him on it.

Yeah, Viserys probably won't help us here.

If we look at what Johanna actually said to us, it boils down to "Be careful with how you act around Jeyne, that will spread unfortunate rumours about you and might give people the wrong idea." Which is the same thing that Viserys told Rhaenyra after the wedding, except that he correctly clocked that the wrong idea wasn't too wrong. Their reasonings are rather different, but the end goal is the same.

This entire update would just reinforce to him why we need to be careful and keep a lid on whatever interests we have when in polite company.
