I think it's worth considering that how the first answer we get to the question is will shape expectations of how people use the Waystone magic going forward.

And for that reason I'm keen to ask the dwarfs. Because the dwarfs aren't keeping it and using it to make extra pretty diamonds for their vaults. They're using the magic to power great works which are unambiguously for the greater good. The Dwarfhold defences against Chaos are exactly the stuff we should be encouraging, and the use to make the Silver Road (which is a major trade route and a pass through the maintains) safely travelable through.

Let's set the expectation that everything you use the Waystone magic for needs to at least be justifiable as for the good of the world (and the signatories).

[X] Karak to Karak
Ask Karaz-a-Karak on behalf of Karak Eight Peaks.

Belegar has spent years building alliances and friendships with the other holds precisely for this reason. All he needs is an excuse.
This is a good point. I think Belegar has the best chance of getting the secret out of Thorgrim. It's arguably a shared responsibility of the Kings of the Karaz Ankor, and Belegar is in the best position to that case.

Mathilde has a good chance to get Kragg to read her in, but the scale of this issue is beyond any single Runesmith or Magister.

I want to try plugging in the Eye of Gazul into the Waystone Network to see what happens.

The shadow of the mountain will kill not only with acid shadows and the fires of dwarven hell, but also with incredible amounts of dark magic.

I am sure that this will take place absolutely without problems and will not cause a catastrophe that could destroy the entire state.

That would be an odd moral lesson to derive from this, the reason they are not using it for profit is because they do not have enough juice. The Gas Forges of Morgrim made airships and those had economic value. The virtue you are looking for is just poverty.

The whole purpose of this exercise is to get the information for the Waystone Project. If Karak Eight Peaks has that information, then the Waystone Project has that information. What is the purpose of the Empire asking the same question?
So that it's official sharing of secrets with another signatory of the bokha palace accords and not just a game of telefon the other members don't know about.
Mostly I am asking so that we could point at it and say "see, the ever secretive dwarfs shared secrets, so start talking!"
(Of course this only works if there isn't a catastrophical conclusion to belegar v thorgrim, but I'm assuming for this hypothetical)

And/Or because the forces of destruction have been forced to innovate on account of everything that's currently going on.
Eike is going to graduate to magister and find that Mathilde and the Ordertide have wiped out all the great evils she could have proved herself against, and decides she must become the dark lady herself to find a feat grand enough to surpass her master.

Well, remember what the Lord of Change said to Mathilde about taking over the world and keep chaos out?

Can you be sure of this? What if the Changeling killed him and has been replacing him for several years now.
Hey, in this quest there's only acceptable explanation for walking around and casting spells after having died, and that is not it!

Mathilde is unironically one of the best mentors you could have for this role.

I want to talk about House Tindomiel and their contributions to the project.

Or rather, the lack of them. See, we all like to bully Zlata for being dead weight, but House Tindomiel are punching well below their weight.

Sure, Sarvoi has been very insightful and helpful, but as far as I can tell, he and his house haven't actually produced anything. Their river leyline was a failure, and on the foundation action Sarvoi spent too much time seducing Druchii that all he had to contribute was sexy anecdotes. And now Tindomiel has barely put together the storage mechanism that we asked them to produce.

For the group that demanded the highest price, they sure haven't contributed as much as we hoped.

That is a very reductive way of putting things. For one it excludes the times when Sarvoi was the only reason Halarath deigned to share some insight since he was going to spill the beans anyway. It also excludes all the times when his help translated between paradigms, being far more understanding of weird chiselhand paradigms than the archmages. Hell, he was the one who made Dhar without which all Riverine leylines would have been vastly harder to test, he was the one who organized those elven mages to try to pull power out of water too.

Also I assume he had some part in all those calibrations even though people are nof credited by name for this.

In that scenario the Dwarves would already be sharing secrets through Karak Eight Peaks' representative, Loremaster Weber.

Oh sure, I didn't mean to put down Sarvoi's personal assistance, especially in understanding the nature of magic. He's been very helpful and useful there, and I'm glad he's on the team.

I was more pointing towards how, in terms of functional components, Tindomiel as a whole, have been less than productive.
