Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Without the maggot charm fomori are strictly better than Vamps because they can regenerate their own power. So I don't really understand why you would think Vamps are better because we have no way to recharge ramps that are ethical.
No they aren't. Our fomori just barely get on level by virtue of accessing some of the kindred of the East's abilities and easy access to some martial arts.

Vamps are a very good WoD splat.

Fomori can also be mass produced without any logistics problems.
I'm not saying they're useless (now that the charm has been heavily modified in terms of what it actually does) just that we don't have a particular use for them right now.

As evidence by the fact that we have as good or better minions present here physically and in our hell that we haven't even bothered to assign real jobs or tools to do them with. We haven't made any serious plans in that direction either.

All charms are good at something, but this seems like buying something because it's cool and not because we have a need or plan for it.

Yeah but we aren't going to be doing that anytime soon are we? If we need some minions or something we have people for that already. We spent a lot of xp on the FiveCourts but haven't leveraged it much yet. We aren't trying to fight a war right this minute so why do we need mass produced minions rn?

Fairly sure that we have armed them with weapons. That white one is certainly armed and I would expect that we have also armed the more senior members as well.

I don't think the Last Dogs have been armed nor are they getting training either. Which is an oversight that should be addressed soon because they have already been attacked and people died.

No we haven't. They had to fight Jade vampires with their claws and whatever stuff they already have and we haven't done anything about it since then.
That was before our kingdom. All the ones who know how to use guns are armed now.

Missed that, I don't recall it being in the vote but it's good we've finally plugged part of the hole.

That said, my overall point still stands. We aren't actually using them to accomplish any work. Adding dozens of fomori wouldn't make a difference because there's nothing to make a difference in.

The measure I'm trying to use here is if there's a need to be filled that exceeds what we can do by other means. So what are we actually planning to do before the next buy point that fomori could actually accomplish which our current staffing resources can't?

I read it multiple times but I didn't see anything about the Jade Dogs giving training on firearms or anything? Some of them know how to use them and thats it.

All I saw was them teaching each other supernatural customs and a different language. Augustus FitzClarance is the only guy who was noted to even have those weapons unless I read it wrong. You could make the argument that he is training the rest but I don't remember telling him too or reading that he was.

My assumption would be that we armed the others with firearms dots, but technically it doesn't list anyone else as armed.

We should set up classes so more can use them, but technically the older ghouls already have the dots for it.

I want that the next time we need to stash someone we can put them in last station and even a Greater Akuma would be a fool to attack. Action economy and penalties can make numbers very much matter.

This, I think, is what should be the core argument. What do we want to do with this, or any other charm, how is it going to be used?

As I understand it, the Courts have a way to awaken the Po souls of people without the charm. It's much more slow, probably dangerous, but existence of magical martial arts that rely on having an awakened Po soul strongly implies it. So, are we in a hurry to produce martial arts capable minions? That's a bigger project than just this. We would also need a training charm, I feel, and to learn said martial arts ourselves (I think it could be argued that if we can teach melee and occult, martial arts fail into those categories, and should be teachable) in order for them to gain useful skills in a short timeframe.

Do we want to expand our circle via Olivia / Daniel? Olivia, I think, definitely has potential - we could use a stealth specialist, but I feel that Inner Devils Unchained is a wrong approach to this. We would need to spend AP anyway, and if we are doing it, it's better to track her divine ancestor and get him to invest more in her. We know that this is possible - Lydia said so in one of the interludes, and I am fairly sure we could negotiate favorable terms. The ancestor seems benevolent in general, they might just go for it if Olivia is able to make her case.

What is the purpose of this charm for now? How are we going to use it?

For me the charm is for making more human aligned Supernaturals. That are already naturalized and have a presence in the human world. Being able to use VEE and similar things are good but if we want to recruit in the mortal world what kind of need to give them the ability to resist casual night folk aggression. Whether that be the capricious fairies, salacious white Vamps, murderous red Vamps or any other negatively aligned being. If you know the reason that we literally can't make splendors for all of them.
One level of black wind is the difference between being casually taken off the streets and disappearing into a crowded Subway and calling us or someone else for help.
It comes down to being able to spread out roots that strengthen allies as well as tie them to us and give them the ability to defend themselves.

Might I interest you in a Peach Tree of Immortality? A 3 dot splendor that permanently grants people immortality, advanced stacked healing (better than ours, even), and potential to raise their attributes to superhuman levels.

Arc 10 Post 51: Connections Enduring
Connections Enduring

29th of December 2006 A.D.

"Just get out of there, cut the connection and leave it be," you snap back, ignoring the sudden spike of panic in your chest. Nothing good ever came of acting on fear, doubly so when it's breaking things. It would just make the breach seem more dangerous instead of what it looks like now which is probably just plain weird.

Clippy is silent for a moment then her voice comes again over the speakers, over a buzz of static. "All proffer Unqualified Regret for our careless study Majesty. Alteration/Rebuke?"

"What? I'm not going to punish you, everyone makes mistakes," you reassure her, a moment later adding: "Are you OK?"

"Status Optimal."

Her voice is clearer now, but you're still worried so you insist on the buzzing. Was it a hardware problem, something with the phone itself? You can't really imagine Clippy or any of her peers getting hurt from a failed hack, but who knows what is lurking in the dark reccesses of the internet.

"Effect not relevant to overall functionality, disregard," she answers, then realizing that you are not convinced she adds: "Temporary loss of acuity due to inefficient use of processing power attempting to divine your reaction. Process in question stopped at the behest of networked intelligence IRIS."

I was worried about what you were going to say, but Iris told me not to, you translate mentally, restraining an urge to pet her case which would just confuses poor Clippy even more. In the end you settle on a simple: "Punishing you for failure would achieve nothing save to harm you. I do not wish to harm you nor any of your networked intelligence as I value your service and your company."

"Understood." Even though there is no actual pause that you can detect, running as you do at meat-brain speed, something tells you the next words had been carefully considered: "Policy is appreciated in both goal and execution. Personal interjection: A sign of superior leadership."

OOC: Incidentally Harry just gained 18 XP this turn alone by my count, I am going to have to look at how to level him. No rolls for this one. We are going to have new year in the first update of the next chapter since it would have been rather jarring to put in here.

[X] Plan Stats and Followers
--[X] Molly 28xp
-[X] Alertness 2: 5xp
-[X] Awareness 2: 5xp
-[X] Ox-Body (•) (x2): 6xp
-[X] Inner Devils Unchained (••••): 12xp
--[X] Lydia 6xp
-[X] Mo Kung/Demon Fighter (•) (Training Discount): 2xp
-[X] Willpower 6: 5 XP

So a rehash of my previous vote. Added Ox body in place of Hear Prayer.

Get two dots in Alertness and Awareness. Keep in mind that due to Demon Guide, we have a -2 difficulty for Awareness. Alertness, we will have to just tank it. But this does bring us to an respectable amount and we should pass most tests this way. Ox body to get some buffer.

Inner Devils Unchained. We can use it to awaken people's po souls. This not only unlocks MA from Molly's world for them but also Demon Arts.

This is important as it may be key to unlocking
1. More Companions.
2. Power up existing companions
3. Making companions more powerful (More Chi to spend)
4. It is reversable, so this + BSR means we can keep trying until they get good mutations.
5. Give them powerful mutations that work for free (Regeneration is one example)
6. Control the spirit being merged and define how it goes as we have our own inner world. (Confirmed by DP)

Lydia
So we introduce her the Mo Kung, more specifically, the Stamina booster. This increases her survivability by a LOT. She has a specific soak charm that grants her Staminax2 soak. Say she rolls well and has 8 stamina. This boosts her stamina to 8 + 16 dice. So upto 24 dice for soak.

The second is Willpower 6.

Yog that Tree is fucking sick I love it. It hits all the points I mentioned and it's really cool as well as not mutating people in unfortunate ways. Did you get elongation of the curse that cleared by Dragon Paradox?

That's some serious bullshit. As in laugh at tanks shooting at you bullshit.

Aww, Clippy. Quickly, we must build her a new body capable of being hugged.
