[X] She did, Shu Yue had said it, the best battlefield they could ask for was the liminal. She could not fight on this level… but perhaps she only needed to facilitate.

You sure he wasn't their clan head? Because Meng Diu's brother is the current clan head, and even if headship doesn't always go parent to child since sometimes a different branch of the family will have someone with a better way/cultivation, it usually does go that way. Their current political stance can be somewhat explained by the current head blaming Shenhua for getting their dad killed, which Meng Diu mentioned awhile ago.

The ancient as fuck Elder who taught our first Inner Sect lessons was Indigo? Are you sure about that?
Pretty confident, since again we know that the Meng and Luo did not officially support her - only small radical factions. If their head was there it would be a very different story.

Not 100% on Elder Heng, since yrs isn't the best about giving us everyone's power level ( :( )and searching things doesn't bring anything up. Was possibly violet. I feel like he was indigo but yeah, can't find anything...

```Yrsillar11/29/2018
Yuan He had to pull off some serious shenanigans to isolate ogodei and weaken him enough to make it possible though
Yrsillar11/29/2018
and most of his companions still died
Yrsillar11/29/2018
Elder heng is one of the other survivors 😛
```

If Hua Heng was old enough to have been there he was at least Violet when he died.

Wow, so close. Which one's gonna win in the end? :V

I do sympathize with promethus' point about how it hardly feels like a choice though. While I'm sure that yrs is willing to write the cowardly consequences if we actually somehow voted No, it isn't even given the illusion of incentive beyond vague concerns about personal safety/ability. Maybe if it at least presented some kind of alternative action Ling Qi thinks she could do elsewhere to contribute to the cause if she declined this, it wouldn't be so stark.
I mean, TBH I think this vote is mostly like...a liability waiver, basically? It's us saying "yeah, okay, fuck me up." In a collaborative environment like a quest, there are typically limits on how nasty the QM(/GM in an RPG/etc.) can reasonably be to the PC(s) unilaterally before things start to feel unfair or unfun. The point of this vote is for us to stare in the face the fact that we're volunteering to suffer whatever consequences this course of action will bring, with full understanding of their possible severity, and thereby to free yrsillar to rain hell down on our heads just like we asked him to.

With that said...yeah, okay, fuck me up.

In theory based on the timelines yeah.

But also the lifespan wogs aren't really precise either since on one hand prism should be ~700 years old max, otoh apparently Yuan He is 900 lol
Yuan He is just short of 900, he is in fact very old, and probably only has another four or five decades in him at best, at worst he could start degrading in two or three.

That is correct, about 100-120 at red, 200 at yellow adding a century-ish at each realm, with White jumping to 1000. Public commission coming up shortly.

O Heavenly King of the South, The Crucible! Whose fires scourge the old, whose sword severs tradition, O furnace of war, devourer of lives and dreams alike!
Hey, a foreshadowing.

Let's gooooo!

Because it had to be a choice.
If she just automatically accepted, it'd be poor QMing, it takes a choice to risk your life and sanity in a battle three realms above you, even if you wouldn't have done it any other way.

True, but I don't like his odds of surviving that fight if he was Indigo back then. That's at least a two realm difference, potentially a three realm difference given the Yuan He interlude might have been hinting Ogedai hit White before he died. I'm pretty sure Sovereignty was required to not die instantly when they all threw down.

TIME'S UP, LET'S DO THIS! LEEEEROOOOYY jEEEENKINS!

I know it has to be a choice, that's not the point. The point is that there's no subpar course of action inherent to the other option to give even the illusion of narrative viability, it's just giving up as the PC to let other characters take on the challenge with no follow-up. With no mention of what Ling Qi might be doing to try to otherwise contribute, she either helps or she does nothing and lets everyone down, it's not just a lesser alternative but a complete non-action.

Is there an alternative?
Because this is the classic kind of Step Up Or Back Down choice.
Its always a choice to prioritize self preservation if you don't feel like you have enough skin in the game.

It can be a valid choice, if the risk is too high or the rewards too poor.
Its only a non-choice because we chose that this summit matters.

This choice reminds me of the one when she was following the cloud tribesman at a distance and had to decide whether to go on into danger or retreat to safety. Yrs assumed that everyone would vote for going into danger but was blindsided when the retreat option won. There's no chance that happens this time.
