Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
[X] An open air gala with songs and poetry and a great deal of food, open to spirits in the old style, taking some elements from older traditions. (Best suited to Wang Chao, a little scandalous, leans the group toward Weilu Reformists factions. Moderate chance of changing Wang Chao's reputation for better or worse. May offend conservatives of all stripes)

Here we go. Sorry for trying to vote during the moratorium, I only caught up with the story about three weeks ago and am still unfamiliar with the voting system.

Imo its not actually great for us to be offending the Weilu conservatives specifically, while we're not gonna be their favorite they're still part of what we're supposed to be crx's go between for, but I do still think it's the right move in this case.

Ohhh neat, I kinda get where it's going. I think it'll pair well with our sincerity insight.
When we know someone isn't being sincere, instead of just getting aggravated, we might get to peer beyond their face and see what they're reeeeeally up to or acting on.
Not just the insincere. This'd hopefully also help Ling Qi identify those who're willing to come after her directly, and what their problem is, before they actively make it her problem.
Like with the Wu guy during Luo Zhong's party.

I hope it ends up looking kinda like the party going on outside Uncle Skelly's place!

I want to vote for whatever is best for Wang Chao here and this is both well suited to him and the potential controversy won't affect him much. Indeed it might even help him.

Sure we might offend some conservatives but nothing we do is ever going to be popular among those people.

It IS a genuine stance of ours, and the resulting alignment issues are natural.
With our Sincerity approach I don't think we could ever have gotten more than generic polite noises or social climbers looking to reach Renxiang without being open with our stance.

Oh, the costs of this are very much real, but this action specifically is not one where pandering to the conservatives is bthe worthwhile choice. We'll make it up to them in the future somehow, even if only to avoid getting a negative rep.

This thread really does not have a good record about "in the future"
It'd still be worth it even with that. The benefits just outweigh the losses that much in this case.

On a neutral character, this choice would have been much more contested, but Ling Qi really fits one of these votes too perfectly to even entertain whatever possible downside we'll get in the future.
