[X][FREE] Try to use the Blessing of the Planets
[X][Naru] Give Naru's identity to MCAT

We've built up enough goodwill with MCAT that they will hopefully try to keep this to themselves - better our allies know. Personally, I'm a bit worried about Ryoko, Fine's current incarnation, because I think Lunaryon implied at one point that she might be interested in Naru, presumably because of Symphogear lore reasons... Buuut, Fine is not necessarily evil or an antagonist here.

And ultimately, it's Naru's preferred choice. We'll have to keep a close eye on things, but it seems like the way to go.

Huh... Don't think tuxedo mask was studying to be a lawyer...

But kid tuxedo comes to mind. He supposed to be orphaned in cannon if i remember correctly

Even if Ryoko/Fine is interested in Naru, they will probably get somewhat distracted by all the planets in the solar system suddenly being revealed to have artificial structures in/around them.
Then learning that the owners are currently living in Japan and working with MCAT.

Samui is going to keep this as quiet as possible.
In part because of goodwill, in part because of "see what they just punched out", and in part because of "we need continued access to her and do not want anyone else nabbing her".

It's not a safe option, as such, but it is not as risky as it might be.
Especially given that Faust already has a clue, and there is the egyptian dude who is probably going to beeline it to Tokyo very soon.
Having MCAT be aware of how important Naru is might actually be helpful in that light.

Yeah. If MCAT doesn't know who or what the All-Mother even is, then a random Egyptian guy wandering around looking for the All-Mother is weird, but unremarkable. Not something that needs to be reported to the Senshi unless said Egyptian guy starts making real trouble that they can't ignore, trouble that's worth diverting attention from dealing with Onogoro, trouble they need Senshi support to handle.

If MCAT knows that the All-Mother is one of the Senshi's closest friends, that's a very different story. Then we're much more likely to get an in-character alert of the form "word on the street is that someone's looking for you."

Meanwhile, MCAT's knowledge is unlikely to pass on directly to the Egyptian guy, because he almost certainly won't be going to MCAT looking for information. Given the Egyptian pantheon's acculturation and probable tendency to be a little out of touch, if he approaches anyone he's going to approach Onogoro.

Also, bad hat man... that does not narrow things now at all.
It does at least narrow down the list of potential villains by excluding:

1) Villains who do not wear hats.
2) Villains who are not male-presenting, either physically or by projecting an illusion.

Still, that leaves a lot of possibilities.

To be fair, there's some indication that constantly teleporting everywhere might actually consume more calories than walking up the stairs. At least if Usagi's appetite after Slumber Party is an indication.
Transformed Senshi physiology lets you ignore a lot of practical human limits because sparkly magical nonsense.

If you're the kind of person who would want to eat N+3 platefuls of very good Indian food, where N is the greatest number any vaguely normal person could plausibly get down without bursting...

...Well, that doesn't really require more sparkly magical nonsense than a lot of the other things the transformed state allows a Senshi to do, y'know?

Usagi would have been perfectly fine not eating such a gigantic amount of food, and if the food in question hadn't been both novel and of exceptional quality, the issue wouldn't have come up.

[X][Naru] Give Naru's identity to MCAT

Things to note about the small boy:

He knew who Sailor Moon was despite her not having introduced herself. And he couldn't have overheard her conversation with the lady at the front desk, because his room is on the top floor. This isn't conclusive evidence of shenanigans, since he could have seen her on the news, but it's worth noticing.

Usagi guesstimates that he's no older than six. I don't recall if we got any information about it in the quest, but the only date given for the accident that killed Mamoru's parents (which comes from the anime) was his sixth birthday.

Now, if this kid is Mamoru (which is a big if), then he isn't a ghost. He'd be a psychic projection. That's an ability Mamoru demonstrates in both the anime and the manga. In the anime, after Usagi resets the timeline at the end of the Dark Kingdom arc, Mamoru has his memories of what happened sealed is so utterly opposed to sitting by and doing nothing while Usagi fights during the Makai Tree arc that he psychically creates an entire other person, Moonlight Knight, to throw roses and dispense pep talks to the Senshi while he can't.

In the manga (and I forget if this particular detail was adapted in the 90s anime), when the Senshi, Chibi-Usa, and Tuxedo Mask travel into the future to visit Chibi-Usa's time, King Endymion (Mamoru from the future) uses a psychic projection to communicate with them. He does this because a Black Moon Clan attack left him in a coma.

So... Yeah. Nothing conclusive, but stuff worth noticing.

I like the way the Senshi are portrayed in these normal scenes.

I do wonder why Naru's identity has to be given up through. Surely a blood drawing can be anonymized to some extent or some kind of magical NDA applied.

The memory ghost of a law student is Banri from Golden Time. He doesn't fit the description (brown hair and green eyes, and being a college student rather than a kid).

At least, that's who I was referring to, kek.

I wouldn't be against it being Mamo-chan.

Well, it is her normal appetite, so the jury is out.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Probably-not-a-flightless-bird and his Bad Hat Man aside, it occurs to me that this outing is probably slightly more important for the Senshi plotlines than it seems. Nodoka and her Byogen aren't the only possessing entities causing (some degree of) illness around, after all, and this experience, should it work rather than fail, will probably be useful if Usagi manages to coincidence into Hotaru.

Well, when I reminded Lunaryon of this excursion back at the beginning of the turn, she did say it was going to led to heavily plot relevant areas.

I hadn't considered him knowing she was Sailor Moon as significant until you mentioned it. That's a good thought.

However.... I hate going this route, but what is the angle of making it Mamoru? Would our end goal be to restore a six-year old mind to an 18 to 20 year old body? Make a body for his repressed psychic self? And, Endymion didn't take Mamoru's parents away, they died in the car crash. From what Endymion told us, he wasn't fighting for control of the body, he was just the only mind left after the accident and de facto in charge. And the psychic projection could have said "he took my body". Which would seem to be the complaint.

I just don't see this being the route that ends up being taken. The only reason I can imagine for the "This is really Mamoru's Psychic remnants" is Lunaryon saying that we wouldn't be able to guess this character, and therefore highlighting their importance. But we have lots of crossover characters we haven't successfully identified, and so this could be something entirely unrelated.

Why would Mamoru send us after a bad man in a hat?
Didn't they die in a car accident?

It's not impossible, but i'm going to guess another crossover being more likely.

Close (Mamoru ended up brain-dead, and Endymion took over his body to survive), but the only alternative I can think of assumes Bleach is also part of quest canon (Mamoru's magic/psychic powers somehow protecting his soul from turning into a Hollow, which ignores how Usagi could see him when she and her parents are neither Shinigami nor Quincy).

I'd say Bleach, as cool as it would be, is rather incompatible cosmology wise both in general and with what has been established in the quest that is original.

The two things I am most interested in when it comes to Mamoru/Endymion's backstory, is if a younger Usagi have him a rose, and if he then gave that rose to an alien lad.

Because it's a romantic remembrance for Mamoru, but in this context it'd be a rather heartbreaking moment, because a girl that looks so much like a cherubic, Chibi Serenity have him a flower, and now she's Sailor Moon and seems to have forgotten him twice over.

Naru has to be untransformed for the blood drawing to work. Unless you want Sailor Moon to have to do the blood drawing which is the other option then to get enough blood there is probably going to be need someone else there to y'know do the shit.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Fine despite being a science person isn't really science obsessed. For her science is a means to an end, that end being reaching "God." If Pandora is to quest Fine what "God" is to Symphogear Fine then we can expect her to prioritize getting Naru above all other things.

Furthermore if Fine does indeed retain memories of the Silver Millennium, as has been hinted at, it is doubtful that the castles will do much to distract her as she would already be familiar with them and would know that they belong to the Senshi.

[X][Naru] Say that Sei's blood is the blood of the All-Mother
- there is still a small amount of Naru's blood on her fingers that she would be use to prove once during all of this, and would create a personal action for Both Naru and Usagi that would have to be taken together to properly draw blood to give to MCAT

Unlikely, 'God' in 'Gear is more specifically Enki, who was effectively the Genjuro of the Annunkai. DoomHelm's more likely to be connected than Pandora.

(Also, you're not quite right on that front, Finé seems to have been on a legitimate Science Kick with Hibiki's Relic Cancer. It's basically irrelevant to her plans except in it letting Durandal activate sooner, and only ended up being relevant because Finé had to kludge things to avoid an inconvenient death.)

If any of you can actually figure out who this is and where they are from, I will ve straight up astounded. Of course, I chose the particular pic based on the physical description and not actual artwork of the character
From the art I was very much going, "Wait is that Shizuo? Are we Durarara now? But what's with the that thing?"

But then about commenter pointed out Mamoru and that's... More likely.

ANYWAY CHICKEN HOOOOOUUUUUSSSEEE!

I would like to point out that Tuxedo Mask wears a hat. :thonk:
Not, however, when the accident occurred, so perhaps the man in the hat caused the accident. Why? To eliminate a business competitor? To try to remove the reincarnated prince while still young? Because they are a fashion mogul that saw into his future and was appalled?

Because they are a fashion mogul that saw into his future and was appalled?
Definitely this one. He was a villain who went out of his way to wear a hat. You don't do that unless you're fashion-forward, wearing it as a promise (Luffy), or you were dressed by your mom (Ash).

It is, of course, entirely possible that we're taking this the entirely wrong direction, and 'bad hat man' was actually a hat-themed Youma, and thus a 'hat man'.

Edit; or a Zakenna-type monster made out of a hat. But still, same general premise. We need to remember that evil monsters made of hat are possibly out there somewhere.
