Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
The local EC is already fully aware of Skaven. Whoever he hired when Mathilde turned down the position would already have that sort of thing in hand.
Fair enough. The general baseline level of institutional competence in DL does seem to be consistently higher than in canon, which is actually quite nice as a reader.

Uhhhh votes...

Looking at the count, do you guys think it is wise to poke the whole dwarf soul thing in the middle of a crowded wedding? I mean we are almost sure OOC that it was and it a political gambit to avoid shame. That does not sound like something we want to poke in public even if it is just to talk to Gunnars about. Now of course we could just pull him aside, but that would look even more odd than with Heidi.
I can't imagine the whole Conclave (or at least 51%) outright and blatantly lying like this. At least some of them must have thought of some legit reason to do it, even if it's just internalized racism. So as long as Mathilde doesn't react with derision the question itself shouldn't start a shitstorm.

has a worrying ability to grasp forbidden magics

You know, it's only just struck me how concerning this is. Like, the first bit of spell research Mathilde ever did was reverse engineer a Dhar construct. Then she wrote some papers on runecraft, followed by a complete dismantling of Waaagh magic. She then wrote papers on two types of dark magic—skaven and vampire—and then set up a branch college to investigate collaboration between arcane and divine magic, with the first project being messing with waystones.

From an outside perspective, that's very worrying—even before taking the Liber Fricken Mortis into account, or the fact that we have plans to loot the Von Carstein library and to acquire what's left of the Fire Spires work from their vault in Vlag, or the fact that we've imprisoned an apparition and plan to capture more.

Algard may be wanting to demon check us again at some point.

The way people likely reconcile this is that she is officially known in the Colleges as "Best Magesight since Volans". She made her name in the College rumor mill for saving Vlag by seeing something that Teclis didn't. While Mathilde has mentioned the circumstances that allowed her to do so, this isn't something that the rumor mill is likely to emphasise. They'll just come to the conclusion that she has Volans level mage sight and nod their head understanding why she's able to understand magic the way she does. Volans was well known and respected for seeing the colors of magic in vivid detail.

you know what's concerning? that forbidden lore is so similar to the legal stuff that an unproven journeyman could pick it apart and make something useful out of it.
Mathilde has proven herself, so she's the least concern.

But what about someone who's not secretly a dwarf?

I wonder how cousin Okri reacted to the shoes he filled? Did Belegar have unusual expectations after having been used to us?

[X] Okri: The new Loremaster of Karak Eight Peaks is Okri Drakkisson of Clan Bronzebeard, formerly of Karak Norn. Meet your replacement and gauge what kind of person he is.

I'm interested to see how long it takes for Teclis to take note of us. Or rather, how much crazy shit can we do before he decides we are worth meeting.

What would the ship name be? Tecilde? Mathlis?

Also!

Wait, do you mean THAT cousin Okri?

Now I want a Vermintide quest, dammit
A Vermintide quest involves doing an End Times quest, and so far, I don't think I've seen a single quest set in the End Times in Sufficient Velocity. It also would involve working with five incredibly well established characters with a very extensive lore and character building log, which is intimidating. On one hand, the characters are right there ready for you to use. You know more about them than any other Warhammer Fantasy character on record. On the other, it can be an intimidating prospect working with that.

Was going to write my idea on the Quest Idea form, but might as well do it here;

Make it more of a management game. Hire randomly generated heroes, send them on missions, try not to let the Vermintide overwhelm you...

That sounds like a nice video game idea, but the main charm point of Vermintide (aside from the gameplay element, which can't translate to a quest) are the characters. Without them, Vermintide loses the majority of its charm. You can make your own custom characters and flesh them out and build a solid dynamic off of it, but without the banter and turning it into a management quest makes it hard for me to see it as Vermintide.

Fair enough, I was just brainstorming quest ideas. I've been doing that a lot recently, never mind the fact I have a quest I want to do already.
