I don't think there ever has been an on screen discussion or acknowledgement about the fact Ling Qi's mom was a prostitute and all their mortal servants were prostitutes and part of the deal is socially people are gonna shit on the Ling's for that?

What ability is this, mechanically? Does our domain confer armor or similar? I just checked the character sheet and I can't find it.

There were a couple discussions in-universe (not huge ones) that went over how openly accepting former prostitutes would effect Ling Qi's status. Basically Qi decided that helping out the women who helped/stood by her mother overwhelmed any issues caused by gossip.

Our domain does give Dodge bonus and offers an anti-finisher so it's more avoid harm than negate but same end result of protection.

Our domain confers dodge. It's why Biyu always seems to escape her nannies. Ling Qi has also stated that her domain just in general bolsters health. It's why our servants could enjoy the hot springs Zhengui made or why her mom could more easily do her exercises. Its not something that would help against peers, but it does seem to exist.

mechanically persistence seems the best choice since we have more chances to raise freedom. and narratively we have a rough idea of Yu Nuan's past already, and it feels like LQ's history is a bit of a beaten horse at this point. Discussing the future and where both of them want to go forward feels more important in the beginning stage of the ling clan.
