Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

[x] Where the two of you are going (+1 to Persistence XP)

Just to echo what everyone else has said, I think both topics would be interesting, but looking where we're going seems like it would be more fruitful, espesially if it helps us work together better. Persistence also seems like a useful trait to cultivate, given everything we're trying to accomplish, and it seems like we have significantly fewer avenues to improve on it.

On an unrelated note, I'm not sure how yrsillar handles typos, but I caught a few:

through the outer part of the town and into the. "Not like I had anything to do there."

Sentence ends abruptly.
with the winters first snows

Winter needs an apostrophe, since the first snows belong to it.

The 'the' is technically fine, but it's also unnecessary. I think the sentence flows better without it, but it's also a bit of a stylistic choice.

we'll see my little sister two, but she's four,

Unless this is meant to be a pun, it should be 'to'.

was naturally the source."

Unnecessary quotation mark.

explained this too her.

This should be 'to'.

'So this is part of your motivation?"

Single quote instead of double quote.

We're gonna be the Addams family but Xianxia aren't we

Now we just need to make sure our families theme song —we're a family of musicians, don't tell me we won't have one and probably a leitmotif, to work into personal themes, on top of it— includes snapping.

"...I heard things got a bit crazy at the end of the tournament," Yu Nuan said quietly.

Ling Qi paused, one hand resting on the wall. "...Yes. Do you want to change your mind?"

She still didn't know what to think exactly, that was one reason she was doing this now. She wanted to take her mind off of things until Renxiang was ready to talk.

"Nah, I don't think the blast zones have changed much," Yu Nuan said with a weak chuckle.

"Dark, but not wrong," Sixiang snickered.
This leads right into

As the dominant topic I think.
There was a faint crackling pop as the spirit beast appeared beside her. The dog was not shrunken fully into little fluffball, but instead rose just past her knee, his fluffy blue and white coat crackling with static. The hound held his head high.

There was a sound, high pitched and sudden.

Ling Qi glanced at her little sister who was staring at the dog with wide, wide eyes, she was naturally the source."

Stray quote mark

Also Qiu seems skilled at herding kids. Thats the ideal size for riding

The difference, long-term, between "Yes, have a completed dot of persistence" and "no, don't" seems a rather bigger deal than getting Freedom a touch early. More to the point, this seems like a more important thing to be focusing on. She wants to leave her past behind? Why not let her? In the meantime, let's focus on building this fragile new thing that we have now, and will have going forward.

I love this so much.

It's been a little while, so I decided to look up the scene between Yu Nuan and the Leigong again. This jumped out at me:

~~~~~~
Yu Nuan grimaced at the sudden damp. "Nothing heroic like you," she said, and Ling Qi could not tell if she was being sarcastic or not. "I got rounded up to support the lower nine hundreds, and we drove off the bugs that tried to swarm up the mountain. They were going for the vent's I think. Wasn't glamorous, but I did my job, didn't…" Ling Qi sensed a twinge of bitterness from the other girl. "Didn't let anyone in my group die."
~~~~~~

we didn't ever find out what this was about did we?

as for the vote? I'm usually of the preference to get contextualizing information on the past before planning forward. Makes it easier to understand where the involved parties are coming from.

But I think starting this turn off by exploring the future is a good idea, on a turn of Dreaming, Creation and looking Forward.

yet at the same time, this is also a turn in which we'll be looking to the past for both Understanding and Power, so that we have materials with which to craft that future

Hrmm.

[X] Where the two of you are going (+1 to Persistence XP)

dark humor about Blast Zones aside, both LQ and Yu Nuan are looking towards the future. They both have reached a place where they can now achieve way more than they thought possible. But it comes with much responsibility, and uncertainty.

I think it suits us to consider the future with Yu Nuan during this turn, because we'll be considering the future with a lot of characters this turn. Dreams, Aspirations, what to Create.

We'll also have an interesting chance, potentially, to touch the Lineage Scroll with our Domain Weapon and see if we can't identify Uncle Skelly's blood to a name, hoho

but another turn may be better for picking through the past for Understanding and Power.

~~~~~~~
Anyway
I'd also like to point out that we went on the Thunder Trip with Yu Nuan (and got Bond 1) at the start of turn 7 and it's the start of turn 14. So at the moment, Yu Nuan getting Qiu is the halfway mark of Threads c:
yaythunderpupper awhhh. Heckin cute
oh, but uh. Getting to Bond 2 this interaction would be awesome. Best case scenario we reach Bond 3 before the start of Turn 21 but like. Who knows xP I think talking about the future first is a slower, easier path to becoming closer. Usually we're more aggressive in our friend-making, but I suppose this is more like becoming siblings so I understand the less "Now let's share traumatic pasts and bond c:" approach haha.
Let's look to the future, and see what it has in store for us.
They talked plenty about the events of the past, let them forge a new future together.
