[X] Warlord Pattern Armor research
Bob Ross would be proud. We have drop units!barreling down on them with the power of gravity added to their own enhanced swings was just a happy accident,
This is why Rogues need skills or something that lets them compensate str for dex when jumping, or magical gear to make up for it.The fact that in D&D jump is STR based has been the bane of many an acrobatic rogue so I thought why not look at the other side of the coin for once.

"Rarely have I been more glad that I possess both wings and a bow then when faced with the prospect of helping test the Warlord Pattern armor for the first time."
-Inquisitor Sarel of the Black Scales
At its core the Warlord Pattern Armor was like the Warden but more, more weight of metal and magic, more warding power, and more deflection of blows. There were trade-offs of course, where its predecessor was still treading water in terms of how flexible the rig was compared to the average user, the Warlord made no bones about its role on the battlefield. This was not armor for warriors expected to get out of the line of fire, but designed instead for those instances when taking the blows of one's foes was inevitable. One Lyseni artificer with an inclination for poetry had described it as 'the tip of the Imperator's Spear' to a writer for the Imperial Times. The writer had then gone on to recount that it was more like the head of the Imperator's mace. Indeed, when paired with the fearsome shields each suit was equipped with, a squad of Warlord-garbed Praetorians looked like nothing so much as an avalanche of steel and spell-forged sinew that would crush all before them.
Yet that did not do the armor justice.
True, it was slower at a full run than an unencumbered soldier and it was harder to maneuver around tight corners, but the sheer strength bound up in arcane coils meant to move the knee and ankle joints meant that the wearer could manage truly astonishing jumps at least so long as the ground does not give way beneath them. Indeed, there had been some suggestions to equip Warlords with simple single-use ward foci, not for protection but for the assurance of stable jumping platforms when it was noticed that wearers could jump as much twenty-five to thirty feet consistently with some managing almost fifty feet under ideal conditions, as much as the stride of the armor under ideal conditions. Add to that that the suspension meant to compensate for the power-assisted blows would attenuate a properly timed jump and landing almost entirely, and a visitor to the testing field at Westhaven might be forgiven for thinking that thunder boomed from clear blue skies there.
So it was that the first manual for the use of the Warlord included instructions to vault over hazardous terrain or spell barriers where possible. The fact that it also presented the enemy with more than two hundred and fifty pounds of metal, composite and flesh, barreling down on them with the power of gravity added to their own enhanced swings was just a happy accident, though one quickly taken advantage of by the newly armored praetorians.
Thus, the artificers who had helped design the Warden and the Warlord turned their eyes to the new horizon of demi-construct armor, hopefully taking the strengths of the previous designs to their utmost, the Titan.
Result: Warlord Armor Designed

OOC: The fact that in D&D jump is STR based has been the bane of many an acrobatic rogue so I thought why not look at the other side of the coin for once. Sure the Warlord is not as maneuverable or as quick as the Warden, but it is even stronger on top of the already enhanced Praetorian template. I am going to be working on the next quarter's post soon so in the meantime now is the time to suggest any interludes or PoVs you may wish to see over the last few months

It would only cost 400 IM for a ring with constant Jump spell effect that would add a +10 Enhancement bonus to the wearer's Jump checks, or 600 IM to add it to another piece of gear. Well within handwavium abstraction levels of expense. You know what this style of movement does remind me of?
Starship Troopers (book not movie).
If we add even more jumping, as well as some more bomb-dispensers and a flamethrower we have the Marauder Pattern Armor.
Add a ring of Feather Fall for dropping them out of aerial transports. It would only cost 400 IM for a ring with constant Jump spell effect that would add a +10 Enhancement bonus to the wearer's Jump checks, or 600 IM to add it to another piece of gear. So, inspired by the Braavos Titan which is actually a murderhole fortress, and since it has legs, why not actually make it move?
The Sealord and the Iron Bank better be clamoring to be the first ones to get theirs.

What would happen if any of our roads containing the imperial steel veins are sabotaged?.
Why yes I have thought about animating the thing already why do you ask?
I wasnt present in the quest when the domains for the imperial god was decided
But why doesnt the IG has magic domain?
Our empire is responsible for much innovation and is largely known by our populace for being a magic empire
It would make sense for the Imperial god to have the magic domain.
and i was also wondering
would it be possible to add other domains to the IG later on?
I think we already have that domain as liberation (learning) and artifice.A science domain would be nice too! All we would have to do is add two new wings to the imperial palace.
