[X] Goldfish

I love the fact that we so quick that we emptied the whole vault! I bet the cloak is as close to happy as it can be having so much treasure in it.

[X] Use Ancestral Awakening to get the Energy Substitution: Cold feat, then use Cold Fireballs to blast your way to the elevator. Fly up the shaft.
-[X] Once approaching the top of the shaft, use Disintegrate to prepare a hole, then have Richard and Garin use Launchers to fire a 20 pound Liquid Ice bomb and a 20 pound Explosive Pack into the hole. Viserys bulk and momentum will do the rest.

I'm a bit worried here, if anything between here and the elevator holds us up, even just for a round or two, we have a bunch of dangerous foes, including at least one serious mage right behind us.

My plan at least has us moving, because if the AMF idea fails (and AMF is hardly a quiet spell, metaphysically) we wasted at least one round and the mage is right behind us.

Activating the crystals and trying to Miracle an AMF only takes a Standard Action on everyone's part. They can still move during the round, and they do so at double normal speed. If the attempt fails, it's hardly like we'll have been standing there waiting for the pursuers to catch up with us.

Update mentions soldiers in the vicinity, so some fighting is in order to clear the way out, which nobody can do when they all spend their Standard on activating AMF effects.

Besides. I'm not at all convinced that the wards will somehow miss an AMF effect of all things. You basically want to evade the active defense system by yelling at it and hoping that confuses it for a moment instead of, you know, doing it's job and snuffing out the offending effect.

@DragonParadox could we use the Psionic AMF/invoke magic trick to cast Mirror Hideaway and then plane shift away as normal by virtue of not technically being on the same plane as the wards, or would they stop that?

edit: that particular spell also explicitly blocks spell effects that don't cross planes from reaching into it, so that might have an effect here as well supposing this sort of pocket space isn't vulnerable to dispelling despite the AMF.

If we can cast the AMF, nothing is stopping us from using Invoke Magic and Anywhere But Here to simply escape completely.

Not that it looks like we're going to even try that now, considering the way folks are voting to keep fighting even though we got what we came for and have scraped through by the skin of our teeth so far.

Yes, but anywhere but here could plane shift us into something highly unpleasant even if we're only intending to be there a moment. I'd rather not end up teleporting directly into noodle's proverbial soup bowl or something if we can avoid it.

The vote isn't to "keep fighting", but to make a break for it in a way that is not extremely likely to end with a full round worth of spellcasting going splat against the wards.

Do you guys think Dispelling Screen could briefly mess up the wards? It's below the level limit and has the ability to block spells from crossing it unless they're bound to an item that is being passed through, so it could theoretically effect the ward's dimensional lock in bubble mode.

I think it would really come down to wether that kind of effect is more obvious than normal for its level or not.

@BronzeTongue, do you really think that a 4th level spell could disrupt wards designed to keep the infinite hordes of the Abyss from Wishing your fortress out of existence?

Not by main strength no, but possibly in the same way that every other low level spell does. If it's effect is small enough relative to the total area that has to be monitored and it isn't actively smacking the operators in the face I could see it slipping beneath their notice for a round or two.

Magic isn't just a biggatons game after all, as can be seen in how PfE can block almost any kind of direct mental manipulation.
