Even what some might consider as negative character traits, his paranoia and being a hard taskmaster, seem to be beneficial to me, at least in this case.

I figure DP put it as a malice for a reason. It's not +Cautious or +A Healthy Paranoia or somesuch, so I'm guessing he's more the type to see enemies where there aren't any.

I don't like Valens, since our ministery will be the face of our goverment, at least to the inside (Diplo for outside).

Do we want the suspicious, unpleasant ex-Inquisitor for that?
I'd prefer to have more positive representation. Of course Valen's work is important and I would gladly make him head of the Censorship-Bureau within thelarger Ministery, but I don't want him on the highest and most publically watched post.

We don't want people to think the MoI is just the Inquisition's info-control branch.

The problem is, one is ripe for a scandal that can't just be brushed over and would cause chaos if it erupted.

The other isn't any kind of administrator at all or likely to be inclined in that direction.

Most importantly the candidate has to not only be loyal but share many of our own opinions.

If the Voice isn't acceptable because he has yet to completely sort out the whole "started a fake religion" thing suitably, and the Mirror playwright just doesn't really have everything needed to do the day-to-day work of the job, Valens is pretty much what we can expect from any similar candidate. They are likely to not be too likeable for exactly the reasonings that we are careful of proscribed texts and memorabilia entering circulation with the general public, and a preference toward thoroughly sanitizing their declassified writing before letting anyone read it.

People with these preferences, habits and experience tend to be the sort of people preferred by the Inquisition.

If the Voice of Tryos wants to serve the Imperium, he would probably make a solid Scholarium instructor for one of the new Westerosi branches. He's an 11th level Wizard, IIRC, and managing a religion for centuries would be good practice for keeping a room full of unruly aspiring mages in check.

I mean until the cult is dealt with, it holds many of the same problems as a position. Increased scrutiny, seeing as all Headmasters sit on the Curia.

[X] The Fourth Sleeper of Essaria, aka Balerion Reincarnated, aka the One-Who-DP-Refuses-To-Name

Who else can handle public information, but one who literally, the author refuses to acknowledge the existence :V

Also on that note:

[X] The Voice of Tryos

Get him a mindblank, DP has already said the religion's been dismantled in the background. His skills seem like they'd be well-suited here and Valens' paranoia makes me twitchy.
