Ok… I think I fixed it. Had to trim them all the way back to the png.

For the convenience of those that couldn't see them the first time:

Now that I can actually see these...

@BoneyM , if you want me to turn any of those into a user icon, or make a custom Waystone icon (and we don't stay in K8P, which already has a perfectly fine icon), just PM me the details.

I actually like the new Stirland one.

the old Stirland didn't actually look like a historical flag, would have been too expensive to make lots of pre-industrial.

and wants the point of a flag you only have one or two of?

I like Roswita and wish to see more of her. I also think having a position of authority in Sylvania would be helpful for the waystone project down the line.

I'm not talking about fear.

I'm talking about Comfort.

Fear implies there is an active danger that the quest is trying to counter. (that's good.)

Comfort is about the thread trying to avoid fear at the expense of other things.

Is it uncharitable? maybe. but I actually think its the case a lot of the time. (hell. you have after all argued that 'I dont want to leave the towers' as one of yours main reason.)

so sorry, Its not my style to pull the punch on what I think: and I think Loremaster is just the Confort option.

Comfort is also an entirely legitimate and valid reason for people to choose LaL, though. If people like what BoneyM has provided about Mathilde's career at K8P so much that they want more of the same, that's an entirely legitimate choice to make.

They were both from Uniforms and Heraldry of the Empire, along with a bunch more. The red-and-green one is the one in Total Warhammer.

Has that been stated? He went there, and he came back with the non-aggression pact carved into Jade. He has the spell. But has it ever been stated that he learned it in Cathay?
Pardon me if that was already answered, but here it is:
[Dragomas] went off the edge of the map to the 'here be dragons' and came back with the ability to turn into one.
Still not explicit he learned it in Cathay, but there are not a lot of places where he could, otherwise.

while I cant say in honesty that Markhraf= waystones after a few comment from BoneyM.

any of the high ranks in the Empire would help grease the wheels for stuff in 10 years time for the next job.

the same way Lady Wizard can turn get more people to the table then Wizerd.

Former Markgarf* will get more people in line then Lady Wizerd.

* well, more empire Knightland/human nation people, runesmiths and Elf Mages might think 'Lady Wizard' is the only relevant part.

Good god, it's not even twelve hours in and we're already at almost 450 votes. This is going to be fun.

So I wanted to drop this stat from the front page

New posts today 5,615

Per the vote Tally there's been about 1,900 posts since the last update. If we half that to account for the moratorium...

God good about 15% of the posts on the entire damn website the past 24 hours are from this thread.

Here's my contribution to that!

Historical Eastern/Central european flags would like to have a word with you.

Put simply, you're wrong about that. Loremaster at Large certainly does have a comfortableness component, but it's far more than just the comfort option.

It's an Episodic option - for folks who want tons of small problems rather than one big one.
Bodyguard shares this trait.

It's a Dwarven option - for folks who like interacting with Dwarves.
Waystones shares this trait.

It's a Continuation option - for folks who want to remain primarily oriented around the established cast.
Markgraf shares this trait - although it focuses on the other side of the established cast.

I'm against it for exactly that reason - if we choose to stay we'll probably never leave. It'll just get comfier and comfier so there will be a greater perceived "cost" to leaving. We could afford to outfit any new digs with the same amenities, and reach anyone we care to stay in contact with with social actions - much like how we do almost all of our socialising these days* - but it's the perception that matters more here.

And, begrudgingly, I will concede that some people want exactly that as a goal. I just really, really do not.

*Seriously, aside from talking to Belegar about what we've been up to once per turn and the Duckling club meeting**, we don't really do much with other people outside of Social Actions. Oh we tell them to go and do X sometimes, but we don't really do deep interactions with them.

**Hell, we could probably do the Duckling Club meeting as a group social action if we wanted to.

I'm simply totally uninterested in ruling a polity in any active capacity. Our knightly fief we oversee by benign neglect and that's as far as I'm willing to go. Sure, it won't be quite like Every Other WHF Quest Ever, but I still don't want empire-building in the slightest.

Bodyguard would presumably get us the basic Empire banner. Although it is possible there is a family specific one we could use instead.
UaHotE has heraldry for Karl Franz specifically (they've got some for every EC at the time) but nothing for the House of Holswig-Schliestein. If we don't use the Empire banner for that one, there's ones for Altdorf and Reikland.
... I like the one with the war horn.
Which one? That's a common motif in Stirland imagery.
